HAROLD D. BOWERS
Harold D. Bowers, 71, Oakland, died after a sudden illness on Sunday, Oct. 3, 2004, at the Dennett Road Manor Nursing Home, Oakland.
Born Oct. 27, 1932, in Deer Park, he was a son of the late Garfield and Elsie (Harvey) Bowers. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Bessie Bowers; and 10 brothers and sisters.
He was a coal miner working for Laurel Run, Mount Storm, W.Va.; Dobbin, Bayard, W.Va.; and North Branch, Bayard. He was also employed by Harvey Brothers. He was a member of the Loch Lynn Church of God.
He is survived by three daughters, Sue Fulmer, Mtn. Lake Park, Lynn Shaf-fer, Loch Lynn, and Carol Kimmel, Baltimore; four sons, Don Landis, Gormania, W.Va., Bill Sims, Bear, Del., David Bowers, Keyser, W.Va., and Tom Bowers, Augusta, W.Va.; one sister, Dorothy Simons, Deer Park; 23 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.
Friends were received at the Stewart Funeral Home, Oakland.
A service was held today, Thursday, Oct. 7, at the Loch Lynn Church of God, with the Revs. Ivan Ackerman and Cindy Ackerman officiating.
Interment was in the Deer Park Cemetery, Deer Park.

BARBARA A. WEBSTER
Barbara A. (Meisenbach) Webster, 81, Oklahoma, and formerly of Oakland, died Saturday, Sept. 18, 2004, at the Muskogee Regional Medical Center, Muskogee, Okla.
Born July 4, 1923, in Denver, Colo., she was the daughter of the late Frank W. Meisenbach and Anne E. (Leary) Meisenbach. She was also preceded in death by one son, Michael L. Cook.
She was a third grade teacher's aide for a number of years.
She is survived by one daughter, Jessica Wakefield, Eufaula, Okla.; one son, Matthew Webster, Jupiter, Fla.; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.
A cremation was performed, and her remains will be scattered in the Col-orado Rockies as she requested.
FLOSSIE L. LIKINS
Flossie L. Likins, 98, Mtn. Lake Park, died Monday, Oct. 4, 2004, at Garrett County Memorial Hospital, Oakland.
Born March 20, 1906, in Bayard, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Jesse H. and Mary M. (McRobie) Brooks. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph E. Likins, in 1956; two daughters, Elsie A. Likins and Eva Kight; and one son, Loyal S. Brooks.
She was a retired cook working for Faulkner's Restaurant, Oakland, and was a member of the Swanton Homemakers Club.
She is survived by two daughters, Betty L. Fulk, Bayard, and Mary L. Evans, Grantsville; one son, William "Bill" Likins, Oakland; one brother, Thomas D. Brooks, Greensburg, Pa.; 16 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Stewart Funeral Home, Oakland, today, Thursday, Oct. 7, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
A service will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Donald Matthews officiating.
Interment will be in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Oakland.
CARL W. MORELAND
Carl Wesley Moreland, 86, Mount Storm, W.Va., died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2004, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland.
Born Oct. 16, 1917, in Bismarck, W.Va., he was the son of the late Oliver Roswell Moreland and Edith Myrtle (Cosner) Moreland. He was also preceded in death by two infant sons, one infant daughter, four infant great-grandchildren, and one sister, Wilda Moreland Cullers. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
He retired from Allegany Mining on Dec. 31, 1979. He was a member of the Gorman Church of God and attended Calvary Temple, Mount Storm.
Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Angie L. (Kline) Moreland; two sons, Earl Allen Moreland and Wesley Mark Moreland, both of Mount Storm; one daughter, Norma I. Black, Cascade; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Friends were received at the Calvary Temple in Mount Storm, where a service was held today, Thursday, Oct. 7, with the Rev. Gloria Georg and Rev. Jake Paugh officiating.
Interment was in the Alkire Cemetery, Mount Storm.

MAYSELL YOW
Maysell Yow, 81, Oakland, died Monday, Oct. 4, 2004, at Cortland Acres Nursing Home, Thomas, W.Va.
Born April 30, 1923, in Pendleton County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Jacob Arbogast and Minty (Weimer) Arbogast. She was also preceded in death by two husbands, Lawrence White and Herbert Yow.
She retired as a nurse's aide, having worked at Cuppett and Weeks Nursing Home, Oakland.
She is survived by one son, Lyle White, Chambersburg, Pa.; three daughters, Thelma McCrobie, Oakland, Martha Niner, Mtn. Lake Park, and Kathy Schrock, Oakland; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
At her request, her body was cremated.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 9, at 5 p.m., at the Pleasant Valley Community Center, with Donald Stull officiating.
Durst Funeral Home, Oakland, is in charge of arrangements.
NELLIE E. BRAY
Nellie Emma Bray, 83, Kitzmiller, died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2004, at Garrett County Memorial Hospital, Oakland.
Born Nov. 21, 1920, in Vindex, she was a daughter of the late Howard and Lula (Sims) Knox. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Albert L. Bray; three brothers; and one sister.
She was a longtime member of the Kitzmiller Assembly of God.
Surviving are six sons, Ronald Bray, Roscoe Bray, Daniel Bray, Gary Bray, and Carl Bray, all of Kitzmiller, and Donald Bray, Frostburg; three daughters, Betty Barrick, Linda Bray, and Marcia Moore, all of Oakland; two brothers, Albert Knox, Hagerstown, and Alvin Knox, Carnegie, Pa.; two sisters, Beatrice Kifer, Glassport, Pa., and Dorothy Mullins, Greencastle, Pa.; and seven grandchildren.
Friends were received at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home, Kitzmiller.
A service was held at the Kitzmiller Assembly of God on Friday, Sept. 24, with the Rev. Lee Robertson and Rev. Sam Moore officiating.
Interment was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery.

FORREST L. SANDERS
Forrest L. Sanders, 86, Oakland, died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2004, at Garrett County Memorial Hospital, Oakland.
Born March 29, 1918, in Oakland, he was a son of the late Nelson and Vally (Paulie) Sanders.
He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Oakland, and was a life- long farmer and a graduate of Oakland High School.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Margaret L. (Wotring) Sanders; two sons, Edward Sanders and wife Nan, Westminster, and Kenneth Sanders and wife Edna, Oakland; two sisters, Bethel Martin and husband Winston, and Barbara Sanders, both of Louden, Texas; one brother, Elwood Sanders and wife Martha, Oakland; two granddaughters, Becky Mellinger and husband Randy, and Cindy Hauser and husband Jamie, all of Oakland; one great-grandson, Nicholas Mellinger, whom he loved very much; and a special nephew, Lynn Welch and wife Vi, Painesville, Ohio.
Friends will be received at the Stewart Funeral Home, Oakland, on Saturday, Oct. 9, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
A service will be held at the funeral home on Sunday at 2 p.m., with Pastor Randy Nairn officiating.
Interment will be in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens, Oakland.

WILLIAM E. DIXON
William Eugene Dixon, Sr., 64, Friendsville, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2004, at Cuppett-Weeks Nursing Home, Oakland.
Born April 1, 1940, in Friendsville, he was the son of the late Carl and Delora (Friend) Dixon. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jolene (Fike) Dixon; three brothers, Gary Dixon, Ronnie Dixon, and Sonny Dixon; and one sister, Donna Dixon.
He was a carpenter. He had been employed by the Roger Sines Construction Co., Friendsville. He was a member of the Western Maryland Christian Center and AARP.
Surviving are two sons, William E. "Billy" Dixon and Thomas D. Dixon, both of Friendsville; one sister, Dorothy J. Williams, Baltimore; and two grandchildren.
Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home, Friendsville, were a service was held on Saturday, November 13, with the Rev. Michael Robinson officiating.
Interment was in the Blooming Rose Cemetery.

JOHN DENNISON
John "Bud" Dennison, 80, Westernport, died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004 at Garrett County Memorial Hospital, Oakland.
Born March 30, 1924, in Cumberland, he was a son of the late John W. and Alice J. (Gross) Dennison. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy D. (Fazenbaker) Dennison, in 1996; and one sister, Juanita Morrison.
He was a well-known photographer for 45 years, having owned the Dennison Studio in Piedmont, W.Va., until his retirement in 1991. He also was a former employee of Westvaco Corp., having been an electrician for five years prior to his taking up photography full time.
He was a United States Army veteran, having served during World War II in the Philippines and Okinawa. He was an active member of the Westernport Church of the Brethren, having held various positions within the church, including singing in the church choir and being a Sunday school teacher. He was a member of Victory Post #155 American Legion, Westernport, and Queens Point VFW #6775, McCoole.
Surviving are his wife, Margaret (Ashby) Dennison; one son, William Ash-by, Swanton; one brother, Walter Paul Dennison, Cumberland; one sister, Mildred Hite of Georgia; and two grandchildren.
Friends were received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, where a service was held on Sunday, Nov. 14, with the Rev. William Shimer and Rev. Mark Hickman officiating.
Interment was in Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser, W.Va.

DONALD E. DAVIS
Donald Eugene Davis, 50, Westernport, died Friday, Nov. 12, 2004, at Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser, W.Va..
Born Feb. 13, 1954, in Oakland, he was the son of Geneva (Tichinel) Davis of Westernport, and the late Thomas Davis.
He was a United States Army veteran. He was employed as a carpenter for Don Nemith Construction.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by two daughters, Heather Marie Davis and Amanda Lynn Davis, both of California; two brothers, Thomas S. Davis, Westernport, and Carl W. Davis, Keyser; and one sister, Carol Dawson, Westernport, with whom he resided.
Friends were received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, where a service was held Wednesday, Nov. 17, with Rev. Greg George and Rev. Darrell Tichinel officiating.
Interment was in Turner Cemetery, Walnut Bottom.
MARGARET L. DISIMONE
Margaret L. "Peggy" DiSimone, 71, Oakland, died Friday, Nov. 12, 2004, at the Garrett County Memorial Hospital, Oakland.
Born May 26, 1933, in Crellin, she was a daughter of the late Burlin C. and Elsie M. (Hinebaugh) Holler. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Clifford Holler.
She was a member of the Crellin United Brethren in Christ Church. She was a graduate of Oakland High School, class of 1951, and served for many years as a Republican election judge in Crellin.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph F. DiSimone; one daughter, Angela J. "Angie" Biggs, Oakland; three sons, Richard A. DiSimone, Randy S. DiSimone, and Joseph B. "Joey" DiSimone, all of Oakland; two sisters, Betty Jackson, Nutter Fort, W.Va., and Rita Sweitzer, Oakland; one brother, Larry Holler, Oakland; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

CECIL F. UPHOLD SR.
Cecil F. Uphold Sr., 81, Oakland, died Friday, Nov. 12, 2004, at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va.
Born June 10, 1923, in Friendsville, he was the son of the late Allen and Beatrice (DeBerry) Uphold.
He was a member of the Deer Park Church of God of Prophecy, where he served as a deacon and usher. Along with his wife, he conducted Sunday school ministry and sang with a group at the Dennett Road Manor Nursing Home, Oakland. He was a former truck driver for Stayly Cartarage in Illinois. He was also a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and was a life member of the DAV.
Surviving are his wife, Lena I. (Otto) Uphold; one daughter, Joyce I. Uphold, Mitchell, Ill.; two sons, Marvin E. Uphold, Pittsfield, Ill., and Cecil F. Uphold Jr., Plainview, Ill.; two stepdaughters, Martha L. Lawson, Crossville, Tenn., and Amy I. Willoughby, Stroudsburg, Pa.; two stepsons, Richard R. Friend, Oakland, and Timothy J. Friend, Terra Alta, W.Va.; one half sister, Lillian Sines, Friendsville; nine grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild.
At his request, his body was cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

NELLIE M. FORD HUSSING
Nellie Marie Ford Hussing, 69, Masontown, W.Va., died Sunday, Nov. 14, 2004, at her home.
She was born Sept. 16, 1935, in Preston County, W.Va., and was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and her first husband, James F. Ford.
She worked at Cuppett Weeks Nursing Home and Hopemont, and she was self-employed. She enjoyed collecting Fenton, playing Yahtzee, and dinners and family gatherings.
Surviving are her husband of 14 years, Allen Hussing; four sons, Ernie Durr and wife Debbie, Terra Alta, W.Va., and Jim Ford and wife Sheila, Mike Ford and wife Carole, and Terry Ford and wife Gwyn, all of Oakland; one daughter, Pam Ford, Kingwood, W.Va.; two sisters; one brother; and nine grandchildren, Stacie and Matt Street, Brandon Ford, Dawn Smith, JimBob Ford, Ernie Durr Jr., Jan Marie Ford, Megan Ford, and T.J. Ford.
