Ann T. Allenberg
SMITHSBURG - Ann T. Allenberg, 74, of Barth Spring Lane, died Monday, July 26, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born July 23, 1925, in Frederick, Md., she was the daughter of the late Elmer Eugene Sr. and Maude Lease Rhoderuck Thomas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William M. Allenberg, in 1997.
She graduated from Frederick High School; and Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore.
She assisted in the family orchard business. She was a homemaker; and an artist.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Smithsburg and the Wednesday Circle.
She was a member of Ladies Auxiliary of Maryland Horticulture Society.
She is survived by two sons, Henry Allenberg and Fred Allenberg, both of Smithsburg; and six sisters, Geraldine Thomas of Hampstead, Md., Agnes Thomas and Margaret Thomas, both of Williamsport, Dorothy Snyder of Hanover, Pa., Evelyn Kefauver of Middletown, Md., and Catherine Thomas of Hagerstown.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Thomas and Elmer Eugene Thomas Jr.
Memorial services will be Thursday at 3 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 16 N. Main St., Smithsburg. Pastor Mark Walters will officiate.

Elizabeth G. Holland
BRUNSWICK, Md. - Elizabeth Gilbert Holland, 82, of 612 E. "E" St., died Monday, July 26, 1999, at Citizens Nursing Home, Frederick, Md.
Born Oct. 16, 1916, in Loudoun County, Va., she was the daughter of the late Robert Preston Gilbert and Polly Butler Gilbert Lipscomb.
She was a retired seamstress with H. L. Hartz and Co. in Brunswick.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Petersville, Md.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Donald J. Holland; a daughter, Diane Monroe of Burkittsville, Md.; four sons, John D. Holland of Virginia Beach, Va., Robert P. Holland of Ijamsville, Md., Arthur L. Holland and Howard E. Holland, both of Frederick; 14 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Minnie Belle Weedon, Katheleen Lipscomb and Margaret Weedon; and six brothers, Rody Butler, Harry Butler, James Butler, Robert Gilbert, Richard Gilbert and Willis Gilbert.
Services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Petersville. The Rev. Lawrence J. Gesy will officiate. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Frederick.
Prayers will be offered at the John T. Williams Funeral Home, 100 Petersville Road, Brunswick, on Thursday at 9 a.m.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, which will be open from 9 a.m.
Lindsey R. Franzwa
GLEN ELLYN, Ill. - Lindsey R. Franzwa, 14, of Glen Ellyn, and formerly of Knightdale, N.C., Columbus, Ind., and Hagerstown, died Wednesday, July 21, 1999, in an automobile accident on her way to camp in Alma, Mich.
Born Oct. 9, 1984, in Gainesville, Fla, she was the daughter of Richard A. and Pam S. Franzwa of Glen Ellyn.
She graduated in June from the eighth grade at Hadley Junior High School, Glen Ellyn.
She was an academician, played violin; and was an artist.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by a sister, Abby Franzwa at home; maternal grandparents, Patty Marlo of Wallace, N.C., and Jim Shouse of Cincinnati; and paternal grandparents, Fred and Marjorie Franzwa of Hobart, Ind.
Memorial services will be Saturday at 6 p.m. at DuPage Unitarian Universalist Church, 4 S. 535 Old Naperville Road, Naperville, Ill. The Revs. Jim Cofield and Ann Tindle will officiate. A reception will follow at the church.

Clyde R. Sprankle
Clyde R. Sprankle, 86, of 1745 Edgewood Hill Circle, Hagerstown, died Sunday, July 25, 1999, at Reeder's Memorial Home in Boonsboro.
Born June 24, 1913, in Broadfording, he was the son of the late Clyde Herman and Lydia Gertrude Bartles Sprankle.
He was employed by Breakstone Dairy in Hagerstown.
He was a member of Trinity Bible Church in Hagerstown.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Josephine V. Sprankle; one daughter, Sandra Sprankle Rainbow of Keedysville; one sister, Helen Clingan of Boonsboro; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond Sprankle and Paul Sprankle.
Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, 40 E. Antietam St., Hagerstown. The Rev. Betty D. Jones will officiate. Burial will be in Broadfording Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 6 to 8 p.m.
Urner L. Golden
HANCOCK - Urner Lynn Golden, 52, of Sensel Road, died Sunday, July 25, 1999, at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident June 28, 1999.
Born Jan. 1, 1947, in Washington County, Md., he was the son of the late Roy C. and Anna Grace Stottlemyer Golden.
He was a graduate of Hancock High School.
He was employed by Nassaux-Hemsley Inc., in Chambersburg, Pa., as a land surveyor, licensed in four states.
He attended Hancock United Methodist Church.
He was a member of Webster B. Harrison Post 26 American Legion, Hancock; Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1483, Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; Improved Order of Red Men Conococheague Tribe 84, Williamsport; and organizations associated with land surveying.
He is survived by one daughter, Angie L. Rhodes of Hancock; one son, Joseph Lynn Golden of Mercersburg, Pa.; two sisters, Leitha MacRoy of Hagerstown and Anona Miller of Arvonia, Va.; four half-brothers, Alvie Golden, of Warfordsburg, Pa., Emory Golden of Big Pool, Elzie Golden of Hancock, and Glen Golden of Berkeley Springs; seven grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two half sisters, Gladys Myers and Cornelia Mills; and two half brothers, Arnold Golden and Leo Golden.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Hancock United Methodist Church, 168 W. Main St., Hancock. The Rev. Ernest Thompson will officiate. Burial will be in Wardfordsburg Presbyterian cemetery with military services by the Tri-State Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 141 W. Main St., Hancock; and on Thursday at 10 a.m. at the church. The funeral home will be open Wednesday from 2 to 9 p.m.

Ruth A. Yeakle
Ruth A. Yeakle, 83, of Avalon Manor Nursing Home, and formerly of Village Mill Drive, Maugansville, died Sunday, July 25, 1999, at Washington County Hospital in Hagerstown.
Born July 16, 1916, in New Martinsville, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Harry M. and Eva May Hindman Riley.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin D. "Pete" Yeakle, in 1997.
She was employed by J.J. Newberry's, Montgomery Wards, and the State of Maryland.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Hagerstown.
She was a member of Eastern Star and Ladies Elks.
She is survived by two sons, Harry L. Stephens of Hagerstown, and Joe Stephens of Key West, Fla.; one sister, Elsie Turner of Atlanta; one brother, John Riley of Marysville, Ohio; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, John Stephens; and a brother, Harry P. Riley.
A memorial service will be held Thursday at 3 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, 141 S. Potomac St., Hagerstown. The Rev. Edward H. Heim will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven cemetery in Hagerstown at the convenience of the family.
