Aldo S. Torboli Sr.
BOONSBORO - Aldo Silvio Torboli Sr., 88, of Mountain Laurel Road, died Wednesday, July 7, 1999, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born June 25, 1911, in McKeesport, Pa., he was the son of the late Archida and Josephine Palevorena Torboli.
He was a self-employed tool grinder in the Washington, D.C., area until 1958, when he opened a barbershop in Landover, Md. He then operated a barbershop in Boonsboro until his retirement in 1985.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II, serving with the military police.
He was a member of Disabled American Veterans in Hagerstown; and had volunteered at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
He is survived by his wife, Annie C. DiVincenzo Torboli, whom he married
in 1948; two sons, Aldo S. Torboli Jr. of Bunker Hill, W.Va., and Joseph A. Torboli of Boonsboro; a sister, Lydia Cosi of Domenza, Italy; a brother, Adone Torboli of Tione, Italy; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Bast Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro. Burial will be in Boonsboro Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mary K. Naylor
Mary Kathrine Naylor, 80, of West Washington Street in Hagerstown, died Tuesday, July 6, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Aug. 26, 1918, in Summit Point, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Edna R. Lloyd Roberts.
She was employed by L'Aiglon Manufacturing.
She was a member of Salem Reformed Church.
She was a member of Wacohu Grange for 50 years.
She is survived by her husband, Luther W. Naylor; a son, Norman Naylor of Hagerstown; a sister, Dorothy Ramsburg of Charleston, W.Va.; two grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; a niece, and cousins.
Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Revs. Sharon Forbes and J. Clark Hayes will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
James W. League
WILLIAMSPORT - James William "Bill" League, 83, of Homewood Retirement Center, and formerly of Charles Town, W.Va., died Wednesday, July 7, 1999, at Homewood Retirement Center.
Born May 9, 1916, in Charles Town, he was the son of the late William Henry and Cecelia Cockrell League.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Mae Burr League, in 1994.
He was a graduate of Charles Town High School. He attended Shepherd College and Emory and Henry College.
He retired after 35 years with J.J. Newberry Co., managing stores in the mid-Atlantic region and in Charles Town.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European Theater.
He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, Charles Town.
He was a member of Jackson-Perks American Legion Post No. 71, Charles Town.
He is survived by two children, Susan League Rogers of Summersville, S.C., and John W. League of Williamsport; five grandchildren, Robert Stocks, Brian Rogers, Kirk Rogers, Elizabeth League and John Phillip League; and two nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Anne League Stocks, in 1974; and by a brother, John Sherman League.
Graveside services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Edge Hill Cemetery, Charles Town. The Rev. James Chambly will officiate.
There will be no visitation.

Barbara M. Martin
CLEAR SPRING - Barbara Marie Martin, 61, of 12013 National Pike, died Wednesday, July 7, 1999, at Washington County Hospital in Hagerstown.
Born Feb. 4, 1938, in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was the daughter of Mary Dyanick Talbot and the late Vincent L. Talbot.
She was employed with Martin's Food Market, Dual Highway, for 18 years as a clerk and customer service manager.
She was a member of Ladies Auxiliary of Joseph C. Herbert American Legion Post 222 of Clear Spring.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 44 years, Courtney B. Martin; one daughter, Laura Miles of Clear Spring; four sons, Michael Martin and Alan Martin, both of Hagerstown, Douglas Martin of Coram, N.Y., and Courtney Martin Jr. of Liverpool, Pa.; and seven grandchildren.
Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Donald E. Thompson Funeral Home, 13607 National Pike, Clear Spring. The Rev. Elaine Prince will officiate. Burial will be in Little Rose Hill Cemetery, Clear Spring.

Erma Goldie Leidig
MOULTRIE, Ga. - Erma Goldie Leidig, 78, of Moultrie and formerly of Chambersburg, Pa., died Nov. 28, 1998, in Moultrie.
Born Aug. 13, 1920, in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Grover C. and Ruby L. Dietrich Barnhart.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond H. Leidig, on Sept. 25, 1970.
She worked at Stanley Co. in Chambersburg.
She was of the Baptist faith.
She was a member of Sisters of the Swish and Women of the Moose Chapter No. 1128 in Chambersburg.
She is survived by one daughter, Beverly Miller of Moultrie; one son, George Barnhart of Live Oak, Fla.; one brother, Kenneth Barnhart of Carlisle, Pa.; five grandchildren, one great-grandson and one great-granddaughter.
Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Robert G. Sellers Funeral Home, 297 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg. The Rev. Charles F. Tolbert will officiate. Burial will be in Cashtown Cemetery, Hamilton Township, Pa.
The Women of the Moose will conduct their ritual at the funeral home.
Nellie L. Urda
Nellie Laurence Urda, 88, of 10835 Rosewood Drive, Hagerstown, and formerly of Baden, Pa., died Monday, July 5, 1999, at her home.
Born Aug. 23, 1910, in Midway, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Enoch and Margaret Brown Holland.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Urda.
She is survived by three daughters, Sandra Miguel of Hagerstown, Ruth Gatehouse of Baden and Mary McMahon of Rochester, Pa.; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and three step-great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers.
Services and burial will be at the convenience of the family in Beaver Cemetery, Beaver, Pa.
