Naomi F. Coblentz
WHEATON, Md. - Naomi F. Coblentz, 94, of 3715 Kayson St., died Tuesday, June 29, 1999, at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, Md.
Born May 31, 1905, in Braddock Heights, Md., she was the daughter of the late Maurice and Cora Main Holter.
Her husband, Roscoe Z. Coblentz, died in 1970.
She was a member of West Springfield United Methodist Church in West Springfield, Pa.
She is survived by two sons, Charles H. Coblentz of Wheaton and Dwight O. Coblentz of Lakeside, Calif.; one sister, Charlotte Beachley of Middletown, Md.; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Donald B. Thompson Funeral Home, 31 E. Main St., Middletown. The Rev. Mark A. Wakefield will officiate. Burial will be in Reformed Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ira H. Eby
Ira H. Eby, 87, of 18541 Mason Dixon Road, Hagerstown, died Monday, June 28, 1999, at his home.
Born Aug. 24, 1911, in Leitersburg, he was the son of the late Reuben R. and Elizabeth Horst Eby.
He was a retired farmer.
He was a member of Reiff Mennonite Church near Cearfoss.
He is survived by his wife, Mabel H. Martin Eby, whom he married
Nov. 27, 1934; a daughter, Esther Hege of Greencastle, Pa.; three sons, Nathan M. Eby of Waynesboro, Pa., Nelson M. Eby of Greencastle and Ivan M. Eby of Crab Orchard, Ky.; two sisters, Anna H. Eby and Mary H. Eby, both of Hagerstown; two brothers, Adin H. Eby of Hagerstown and his twin, Allan H. Eby of Chambersburg; 16 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; six step grandchildren; and 40 step great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Elizabeth H. Eby and Clara Hostetter; three brothers, Reuben H. Eby, Theodore H. Eby and Andrew H. Eby; and an infant granddaughter.
Services will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Reiff Mennonite Church on Reiff Church Road near Cearfoss. The Church Ministry will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.; and on Friday at 9 a.m.
The family requests the omission of flowers.

Edgar H. Burkholder
Edgar H. Burkholder, 98, of 12402 Burkholder Lane, Hagerstown, died Tuesday, June 29, 1999, at his home.
Born Jan. 31, 1901, in Franklin County, Pa., he was the son of the late Henry and Mary Horst Burkholder.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Hannah E. Martin Burkholder, in 1997. They were married
Nov. 2, 1922.
He was a retired farmer.
He was a member of Millers Mennonite Church near Leitersburg.
He is survived by four daughters, Mary E. Martin of Maugansville, Emma C. Eby and Ruth E. Burkholder, both of Hagerstown, and Fannie N. Diller of Greencastle, Pa.; five sons, Martin L. Burkholder of Greencastle, Irvin R. Burkholder of Cumberland, Md., Edgar L. Burkholder of Chambersburg, Pa., Paul G. Burkholder of Manchester, Ky., and Chester D. Burkholder of Hagerstown; two sisters, Edith Burkholder and Bertha Burkholder, both of Maugansville; a brother, John Eber Burkholder of Maugansville; 29 grandchildren; 100 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; 45 step great-grandchildren; and 50 step great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Jacob H. Burkholder and Earl D. Burkholder; two sisters, Ada Strite Martin and infant, Anna Burkholder; a brother, Norman Burkholder; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Millers Mennonite Church. The Church Ministry will officiate. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery.

Patsy A. Baker
Patsy A. Baker, 68, of 26 W. Baltimore St., Hagerstown, died Monday, June 28, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Nov. 6, 1930, in Purcellville, Va., she was the daughter of Myrtle Golden Payne Davis Payne of Purcellville, and the late Hubert Kennedy Davis.
Her husband, John Clayton Fleming Jr., preceded her in death.
She was employed by Snook's Poultry and Seafood, retiring in 1993.
She attended Berryville Baptist Church in Berryville, Va.
She is survived by one daughter, Judy A. Snook of Hagerstown; one son, David A. Fleming of Woodstock, Va.; one sister, Francis Trucksess of Hartsboro, Va.; three brothers, James Davis of Florida, Donald Davis of Purcellville, and Larry Davis of Winchester, Va.; three granddaughters, and one great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by a son, John H. Fleming.
Graveside services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Hillsboro cemetery in Hillsboro, Va. The Rev. William R. Shifflett will officiate.
There will be no visitation.

Carl T. Higgs
Carl Thurston Higgs, 82, of 152 Buttercup Drive, Hagerstown, died Monday, June 28, 1999, at his home.
Born Sept. 28, 1916, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Carl Amos and Ethel Lillian Miller Higgs.
He was a 1934 graduate of Hagerstown High School, and a 1942 graduate of National Radio Institute.
He was a senior test engineer in the Engine Research Laboratory at Mack Trucks Inc., retiring in 1980. He previously was employed by Fairchild Aircraft.
He was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church.
He was a member of B.P.O. Elks 378, Lions Club of Halfway, and Halfway Volunteer Fire Co.
He is survived by his wife, Rachel Eileen Younkins Higgs; two sons, Eugene Higgs of Staunton, Va., and Edwin Higgs of Cambridge, Md.; and two granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Elwood R. Higgs.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Stephen D. Robison will officiate. Burial will be in Brownsville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m.

Terry D. Pittsnogle
Terry D. Pittsnogle, 51, of Mitchell Ave., Hagerstown, died Friday, June 25, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born July 10, 1947, in Martinsburg, W.Va., he was the son of the late William D. and Alma L. Western Pittsnogle.
He was employed for Spicher's Appliances, Hagerstown and Airborn Express.
He was a member of North American Rod and Gun Club, Hagerstown and Williamsport Redmen Lodge 84.
He is survived by one daughter, Angie Pittsnogle of Midway, Ga.; two sons, Jeffrey D. Pittsnogle of Boonsboro and Mark E. Pittsnogle of Hagerstown; five brothers, Donald Pittsnogle, Ronald Pittsnogle, William Pittsnogle, Mike Pittsnogle and his twin, Jerry Pittsnogle and one granddaughter.
Funeral services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 at Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg.
