Geraldine M. Palmer
Geraldine Margaret "Sally" Palmer, 85, of North Mulberry Street, Hagerstown, died Friday, June 25, 1999, at Colton Villa Nursing Center.
Born Aug. 21, 1913, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Roy Grove Powell and Mary Julia Delauney Powell Taylor.
She was employed in her early years by Illinois Bell Telephone Co. in Chicago and Douglas Aircraft in Long Beach, Calif. She retired from Fairchild Aircraft in 1975 after 26 years in the Data Processing Department.
She was a member of Hagerstown Church of the Brethren.
She was a member of Hagerstown Chapter No. 89 Order of the Eastern Star; Ladies Auxiliary of Morris Frock Post No. 42 American Legion; Ladies Auxiliary of W.D. Byron Post No. 1936, Veterans of Foreign Wars; Ladies Auxiliary Amvets Post No. 10; and United Auto Workers Union No. 842 Retirees.
She is survived by her husband, Paul W. Palmer, whom she married
April 20, 1963; a niece, Margaret Moore of Chewsville; a nephew, Ernest Poole of Martinsburg, W.Va.; and grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Luretta Poole.
Graveside services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Mountain View Cemetery, Sharpsburg. The Rev. C. Albert Guyer will officiate.
There will be no visitation.

Charles E. Daymude Sr.
SMITHSBURG - Charles E. "Dick" Daymude Sr., 77, of Pondsville Road, died Thursday, June 24, 1999, at Veterans Affairs Medical Center near Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born Feb. 25, 1922, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late John and Margaret Householder Daymude.
He was employed by Nabisco Inc. for 33 years, retiring in 1978. He also was a guard for Hagerstown City Park and security chief for Top Flight Air Park in Hagerstown, retiring in 1997.
He was a veteran of World War II, and the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Army Reserves.
He was a member of Church of Christ at Hagerstown.
He also was a member of Morris Frock Post 42 in Hagerstown, Community Rescue Service, Hagerstown Fire Police, and Maryland Defense Force.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred Emily Alsip Daymude; one daughter, Vickie E. Hose of Smithsburg; two sons, Charles E. Daymude Jr. of Hagerstown, and Raymond A. Daymude of Falling Waters, W.Va.; one sister, Lena Roadarmel of Frederick, Md.; seven grandsons; three granddaughters; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Belle Vulgamott, Myrtle Martin and Ruth Cuddy; one brother, John Daymude Jr.; and one grandson.
Services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg. Elder Tom Altizer will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park in Hagerstown, with military services conducted by Morris Frock Post 42.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Aldine McNamee
Aldine "Dean" Niekirk McNamee, 70, of Pin Oak Road, Hagerstown, died Wednesday, June 23, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born July 1, 1928, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Charles William and Edith K. Niekirk McNamee.
He was a 1946 graduate of Hagerstown High School, where he was active in sports. Later he played semi-pro and pro baseball.
He was employed as a salesman with Keebler Co., retiring after 44 years.
He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church.
He was a member of Morris Frock Post No. 42 American Legion; Woodmen of the World; and T.P.A.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Madeline P. Spielman McNamee; a son, Timothy Dean McNamee of Hagerstown; and a grandson, Kelly C. McNamee of Hagerstown.
Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown. The Rev. Thomas L. Perry will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Erma M. McInturff
HANCOCK - Erma M. McInturff, 89, of Valley View Nursing Home in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., and formerly of Taliaferro Street, died Wednesday, June 23, 1999, at Valley View.
Born Aug. 12, 1909, in Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Emory and Bertha Boor Clingerman.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred T. McInturff, in 1971.
She was a member of Grace Church of the Nazarene, Hancock.
She is survived by three daughters, Virginia I. Mellott and Wilma R. Woods, both of Hancock, and Velda M. Hoffman of Berkeley Springs; a brother, Fred McInturff of Berkeley Springs; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, Clyde Clingerman, Freddie Clingerman, Joseph Leo Clingerman, Huber Clingerman and Lawrence Clingerman.
Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 141 W. Main St., Hancock. The Rev. Willis Swope will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Christian Cemetery, Artemas, Pa.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Cynthia L. Horst
Cynthia L. Horst, 46, of Little Antietam Road, Hagerstown, died Thursday, June 17, 1999, at her home.
Born Sept. 26, 1952, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Vinson and Mary Norwood Keefauver.
She was a 1970 graduate of North Hagerstown High School and a 1990 graduate of Hagerstown Junior College.
She was employed as a substitute teacher at Old Forge Elementary School.
She was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church, Hagerstown; and Ladies Auxiliary Morris Frock Post No. 42, Hagerstown.
She is survived by her husband, Delbert G. Horst; two sons, Christopher D. Horst and Michael D. Horst, both at home; and an aunt.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg. The Revs. William C. Kercheval and Stephen D. Robison will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Hagerstown.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Earl E. Bowser
CHEWSVILLE - Earl E. "Bud" Bowser, 81, of Twin Springs Drive, died Monday, June 21, 1999, at Colton Villa Nursing Home.
Born April 18, 1918, in Sabillasville, Md., he was the son of the late Isaiah and Etta Pearl Kendall Bowser.
He was a self-employed farmer and was employed at Goods Garden & Greenhouse in Leitersburg for 17 years.
He was survived by nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three sisters and 11 brothers.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg. The Rev. John W. Schildt will officiate. Burial will be in Smithsburg cemetery at the convenience of the family.
The family will receive friends at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
