A memorial service for Denzil Carl Poling of Hagerstown, who died Saturday, April 3, 1999, will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown. The Rev. Loyal H. Vanderveer will officiate.

Bessie G. Yonker
LITTLE ORLEANS, Md. - Bessie G. Yonker, 88, of Stotlemyer Road Northeast, died Tuesday, June 15, 1999, at Memorial Hospital in Cumberland, Md.
Born Dec. 10, 1910, in Flintstone, Md., she was the daughter of the late George Oliver and Elizabeth Davis Garland.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Delmer L. Yonker Sr., in 1994.
She was a member of Piney Plains United Methodist Church, Little Orleans; and Ladies Aid of Piney Plains United Methodist Church.
She is survived by two sons, Delmer L. Yonker Jr. of Little Orleans and Edward Allan Yonker of Mountain View, Ark.; four grandchildren; a step grandchild; five great-grandchildren; and two step great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Catherine Vangrift, Amanda Duvall and Nettie Bodkin; and a brother, Oliver Garland.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Piney Plains United Methodist Church. The Rev. W. Scott Summers will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 141 W. Main St., Hancock; and Friday at 10 a.m. at the church. The funeral home will be open today from 2 p.m.

Ross H. Spickler
WILLIAMSPORT - Ross H. Spickler, 90, formerly of Milestone Garden Apartments, died Wednesday, June 16, 1999, at Clearview Nursing Home, Hagerstown.
Born May 20, 1909, in Washington County, he was the son of the late Harvey and Lillian Pittinger Spickler.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary A. Maun Spickler, in 1997.
He was employed by Landis Tool Co., Waynesboro, Pa., for 34 years, retiring in 1975.
He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Hagerstown.
He is survived by a daughter, Louise E. Draper of Williamsport; a sister, Ethel Firey of Hagerstown; a brother, Harold Spickler of Smithsburg; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at the convenience of the family. The Rev. James E. Swecker will officiate.

Omer W. Shank
BARBERTON, Ohio - Omer William "Pete" Shank, 81, of 146 Snyder Ave., and formerly of Hagerstown, died Saturday, June 12, 1999, at Barberton Citizens Hospital.
Born Feb. 18, 1918, in Mount Lena, he was the son of the late Ralph and Rose Ann Smith Shank.
He was a retired employee of Pangborn Corp. in Hagerstown.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in the European Theater.
He was a member of Clopper-Michael Post No. 10 American Legion in Boonsboro; AMVETS Post No. 10 in Hagerstown; and a member and past commander of VFW Post No. 1936 in Hagerstown.
He is survived by a daughter, Brenda K. Jenkins of Shenandoah Junction, W.Va.; four sons, Mark W. Shank of Lakeland, Fla., Robert O. Shank of Charles Town, W.Va., Richard L. Shank of Barberton and Eric E. Shank of Kearneysville, W.Va.; three sisters, Frances Seibert of Hagerstown, Esther Martin of Waynesboro, Pa., and Hazel Smith of Boonsboro; a brother, Russell Shank of Hagerstown; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, David Shank; a sister, Agnes Moore; and two brothers, Donald Shank and Raymond Shank.
Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Bast Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro. The Rev. Kenneth J. Fizer Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Lena Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Yvonne A. Melby
Yvonne Annette Melby, 42, of 17703 Meadowood Drive, Hagerstown, died Tuesday, June 15, 1999, at her home.
Born Jan. 12, 1957, in Hanover, Pa., she was the daughter of Harry Albert Clutz Jr. of Sun City Center, Fla., and the late Geraldine Louise Crouse Clutz.
She received her bachelor of arts degree in early childhood at Towson State University, Towson, Md.
She was employed by Direct Mail Processing. She previously had seven years of adolescent teaching experience at Brook Lane Psychiatric Center. She was the Lincolnshire Elementary Parent-Teacher liaison and a member of committees.
She was a member of The Presbyterian Church of Hagerstown.
In addition to her father, she is survived by her husband, Paul W. Melby; a daughter, Christine Melby, at home; a son, Matthew Melby, at home; a sister, Candy Seward of San Francisco; a brother, Burnie Clutz of Hagerstown; maternal grandmother, Pauline Crouse of Gettysburg, Pa.; nieces and nephews.
Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at The Presbyterian Church of Hagerstown. The Rev. John W. Ailstock will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown; and Thursday from 1:30 to 2 p.m. at the church.

Harold C. Kinzer
HALFWAY - Harold Clem Kinzer, 77, of 11118 Mount View Circle, Halfway, died Monday, June 14, 1999, at the Veteran's Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born Aug. 4, 1921, in Chambersburg, Pa., he was the son of the late Charles Patrick and Mary Summers Kinzer.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Mae Springer Kinzer, in 1972.
He was employed as a data processor for the Washington County Commissioners, retiring in 1989. He previously worked for Prudential Life Insurance Co. as an agent, and for Fairchild Aircraft Corp.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and fought in the Battle of the Bulge with the 11th Armored Div. of Gen. Patton's 3rd Army. He received the Purple Heart. He also took part in the liberation of two concentration camps. He re-enlisted in 1948 and was a recruiter in Hagerstown. He served in the Korean Conflict in Pusan and received the Oak Leaf Cluster for wounds received near the Chosin Reservoir.
He was a member of Calvary Temple, Williamsport.
He was a member of Potomac Post 202 American Legion, Conococheague Tribe 84 IORM, both of Williamsport; and Harry D. Zigler Post 6319 V.F.W., Greencastle, Pa.
He is survived by one son, H. Duane Kinzer of Greencastle; two sisters, Irene T. Kinzer of Williamsport and Betty J. White of Greensboro, N.C.; two brothers, Donald T. Kinzer of Williamsport and Roger D. Kinzer of Pinesburg; special friend, Joan Shrader of Halfway; two grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Calvary Temple, Williamsport. The Rev. Robert V. Robinson will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport. The funeral home will be open Wednesday after 9 a.m.

SMITHSBURG - Sadie M. Kline, 74, of Wolfsville Road, died Sunday, June 13, 1999, at her home.
Born July 20, 1924, near Smithsburg, she was the daughter of the late Frank Benjamin and Bertha Mae Showe Huntzberry.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Kline Jr., in 1995.
She was employed by Doubleday Co. in Smithsburg for 27 years, retiring in 1987.
She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Wolfsville.
She is survived by two sons, Paul Kline III of Smithsburg and Dennis E. Kline of Waynesboro, Pa.; one sister, Anna E. Palmer of Hagerstown; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Myrna Jean Edwards; one sister, Mary Rudy; and four brothers, Vernon Huntzberry, John Huntzberry, Albert Huntzberry and Wilbur Huntzberry.
Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Davis Funeral Home, 12525 Bradbury Ave., Smithsburg. The Rev. Richard Hembrock will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mark's Lutheran cemetery in Wolfsville.
