Lewis C. Toms
Lewis Carl Toms, 70, of Hagerstown, died Thursday, June 10, 1999, at his home.
Born April 9, 1929, in McCoys Ferry, he was the son of the late Columbus Richard and Sally Leona Plume Toms.
A U.S. Army veteran, he served during the Korean War.
He was a member of Hebron Baptist Church, Gore, Va.
He was a member of American Legion Post No. 202 and Amvets Post No. 10.
He is survived by two daughters, Holly Thomas of Gore and Laverna Olkowski of Wilmington, Del.; a son, Joseph McCarney of Hagerstown; two sisters, Rachel Patton and Francis Barnes, both of Hagerstown; his former wife, Helen Toms of Gore; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Lydia Blickenstaff and Gladys Kemp; and two brothers, Chester Toms and Hampton Tucker.
Services will be announced later.
Mary L. Kipe
LEITERSBURG - Mary Lorraine Kipe, 78, of Leitersburg-Smithsburg Road, died Friday, June 11, 1999, at Williamsport Nursing Home.
Born July 29, 1920, in Leitersburg, she was the daughter of the late Levi Myers and Beulah Mae Newcomer Hartle.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold P. Kipe, in 1975.
She was employed by Leiter Brothers Department Store; and United Insurance Co. both of Hagerstown; and Milmar Plastics Inc. in Leitersburg.
She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Leitersburg. She served as treasurer of the Loyal Gleaners Sunday School Class and served on the Church Choir.
She was a member of Ladies Auxiliary of Leitersburg Volunteer Fire Company and AARP.
She is survived by a daughter, Paula Kay McCall of Leitersburg; a son, Walter Michael Kipe of Smithsburg; a sister, Bonita Huff of Hagerstown; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Leitersburg. The Rev. Richard Hembrock will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery, Leitersburg.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg.

Forrest E. Tribett
MIDDLETOWN, Md. - Forrest Edwin Tribett, 84, of 3214 Bidle Road, died Friday, June 11, 1999, at the home of his nephew, Charles Obright, in Wheeling, W.Va.
Born Feb. 7, 1915, in Silverton, W.Va., he was the son of the late Jon C. and Christine Karl Tribett.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Bidle Tribett, in 1996.
He was a retired master carpenter.
A U.S. Army veteran, he served during World War II. He received the purple heart.
He was a member of Jefferson Ward of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
He is survived by six children, Wayne E. Tribett of Frederick, Md., Nancy L. Fisher and Dennis R. Tribett, both of Middletown, Linda L. Gladhill of Myersville, Md., George E. Tribett of Saint James and Gary D. Tribett of Hagerstown; 19 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Wayne E. Tribett Jr.; a great-grandson, Jacob Edwin Tribett; and sisters and brothers, George, Murl, Mary, Herbert, Eva, Lenora, Delmar, Rosanell and John.
Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the Frederick Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 199 North Place, Frederick. Bishop Leon Hewerdine will officiate. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery, Middletown.
Friends may call anytime Sunday at Donald B. Thompson Funeral Home, 31 E. Main St., Middletown. The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Visitation also will be Monday one hour before the services at the church.

William C. Jones
William Cleveland Jones, 71, of 277 S. Potomac St., Hagerstown, died Thursday, June 10, 1999, at his home.
Born Jan. 5, 1928, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late David F. Sr. and Louise R. Boward Jones.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Geraldine "Jerry" Jones, in 1994.
He was a graduate of St. Mary's High School; and attended Hagerstown Business College.
He was employed by Pangborn Corp. for 40 years.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
He was a member of American Legion, Funkstown Post No. 211; and AMVETS Post No. 10.
He is survived by his stepmother, Louise M. Jones of Hagerstown; two sons, Leonard K. Jones of Hagerstown and William D. Jones of Smithsburg; two sisters, Patricia Snodderly of Waynesboro, Pa., and Constance Grimsley of Hagerstown; two brothers, Adolph D. Jones and David F. Jones Jr., both of Hagerstown; two grandsons; nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be today at 2 p.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Betty Jones will officiate.
There will be no viewing.

Dorothy W. Imlay
BOONSBORO - Dorothy Willenbucher Imlay, 74, of 19120 Swinging Bridge Road, and formerly of Olney, Md., died Thursday, June 10, 1999, at her home.
Born Feb. 1, 1925, in Westwood, N.J., she was the daughter of the late Franz O. and Amy Hart Willenbucher.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Carl Hudson Imlay, in 1997.
She graduated from Swarthmore College in 1946, and from George Washington University Law School in 1949.
She was a former attorney for the U.S. State Department in Washington, D.C.; and a substitute teacher for the Montgomery County, Md., Board of Education.
She was a member of Profit Seekers Investment Club of Maryland and Great Discussions in Hagerstown.
She is survived by two sons, Christopher D. Imlay of Cloverly, Md., and C. Lincoln Imlay of McLean, Va.; a sister, Shirley W. Randall of St. Louis; a brother, Marshall R. Willenbucher of Bethesda, Md.; and two grandchildren.
Memorial services will be announced at a late date.
There will be no viewing or visitation.
