Gloria J. Adelsberger
HALFWAY - Gloria Jean Adelsberger, 56, of Roessner Avenue, died Wednesday, June 9, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of Martha Marie Winters Bernhard of Needmore, Pa., and the late Leonard Van Bernhard.
She graduated from Warfordsburg Junior-Senior High School; and attended Hagerstown Community College.
She was employed as a medical secretary for the Diabetes Education Center at Robinwood for the Washington County Hospital. Previously, she worked at Montgomery Wards; Sears and Roebuck; Citicorp; Kevin Anders CPA; The Rehabilitation Center at Robinwood in Hagerstown; and General Motors Corp. in Martinsburg, W.Va.
She was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church, Hagerstown.
She was a member of Antique Car Club of America, Hershey, Pa.; Mason-Dixon Chapter of the Antique Car Club, Hagerstown; AARP; M&M's Sunday School Class of Emmanuel Methodist Church; and The Ice Cream Bunch.
She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Thomas Lester Adelsberger; two sons, Kevin L. Adelsberger of Fairplay, Md., and Jeff L. Adelsberger at home; two sisters, Janice Layton of Everett, Pa. and Carolyn Shives of Needmore; a brother, Richard Bernhard of Needmore; a grandchild; nieces and nephews.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Emmanuel United Methodist Church, Hagerstown. The Rev. Dennis Upton will officiate. Burial will be in Tonoloway Baptist Cemetery, Warfordsburg, Pa.
Visitation will be Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport. The funeral home will be open Friday after 9 a.m.

Vivian I. Hill
HURLOCK, Md. - Vivian Irene Hill, 80, of Hurlock, died Wednesday, June 9, 1999, at Dorchester General Hospital in Cambridge, Md.
Born April 26, 1919, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Franklin D. and Agnes Blanche Ashby Byrd.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Fork District Homemakers Club.
She is survived by her husband, Harold F. Hill; a sister, Maxine Virginia Guessford of Hagerstown; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Pearl Knode, Jane Murphy and Doris Vulgmott; and two brothers, William Byrd and Harry Byrd.
Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Frampton-Hawkins-Eskow Funeral Home, in Federalsburg. The Rev. Alex Boda will officiate. Burial will follow in Unity-Washington cemetery in Hurlock.
Friends may call Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Sarah B. Bryan
Sarah Belle Bryan, 79, of Julia Manor Nursing Home, Hagerstown, died Wednesday, June 9, 1999, at the nursing home.
Born Sept. 6, 1919, in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late William Carson and Flora Mae Stotler Dailey.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Stanley Bryan, in 1998.
She was a homemaker.
She was of the Catholic faith.
She is survived by a son, Stanley Thomas Bryon of Hagerstown; three sisters, Pearl Johnson, Jane Borher and Betty Tritapoe, all of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; a brother, Junior Dailey of Omaha, Neb.; and two grandsons.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, William Dailey and Eugene Dailey.
Graveside services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 127 Britner Ave., Williamsport. The Rev. Richard W. Simpson will officiate.
There will be no viewing.
The family requests the omission of flowers. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Frederick W. Wengenroth
BRUNSWICK, Md. - Frederick Waldo Wengenroth, 45, of 26 W. Orndorff Drive, died Monday, June 7, 1999, at Washington Adventist Hospital in Takoma Park, Md.
Born Sept. 18, 1953, on Long Island, N.Y., he was the son of Elsie Natalie Schultz Wengenroth of Liverpool, N.Y., and the late Robert Duran Wengenroth.
He owned and managed the Frederick Bus Terminal and Twenty-seven Express. He had been employed by MARC Train Services as operations manager; was operations manager of Illinois DOT; and worked for the West Virginia Railroad Maintenance Authority.
He was active with Frederick (Md.) YMCA; Hagerstown Roundhouse Museum; Brunswick Railroad Museum; and with the restoration of the train station in Brunswick.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 20 years, Susan D. Wengenroth; three children, Jared Wengenroth, Max Wengenroth and Greta Wengenroth, all at home; a sister, Lisa Murphy of Baldwinsville, N.Y.; a brother, Chuck Wengenroth of Alaska; aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Jefferson United Church of Christ, 3827 Jefferson Pike. The Rev. Guy A. Wenck will officiate.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Rhoda E. Lowe
THURMONT, Md. - Rhoda E. Lowe, 77, of West Moser Road, died Thursday, June 3, 1999, at Northampton Manor in Frederick, Md.
Born in Statesboro, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Hunter Siles and Ruth Donaldson Suddath.
She was a member of Pioneer Baptist Church in Thurmont.
She also was a member of Moose Lodge in Rockville, Md.
She is survived by one daughter, Cindy Geiser of Thurmont; one son, Tracy Lowe of Columbia, Md.; two sisters, Julia Rozier of Brooklet, Ga., and Sarah Savage of Statesboro; two brothers, Matt Suddath of Richmond Hill, Ga., and Alfred Suddath of Oakridge, Ore.; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Lemke.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are by Davis Funeral Home in Smithsburg.
Ralph A. Bush
Ralph Albin Bush, 76, of 16852 Petmar Circle, died Monday, June 7, 1999, in Washington County Hospital.
Born Jan. 7, 1923, in Jefferson County, W.Va., he was the son of the late Ellis Leslie and Margaret Glover Bush.
He attended Maryland Institute of Technology, Baltimore, and University of Cincinnati.
He was a certified life underwriter with Metropolitan Life Insurance; He managed Norwood Orchards for 10 years.
He served in the U.S. Army with the 125th Armored Engineers in the European Theater.
He was a past master of Masonic Lodge 25, Harpers Ferry, W.Va.; and a member of West Virginia Horticultural Society.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Myers Bush; two sons, Laird Allen Bush of Hagerstown and Lance Lee Bush of Fuquay-Varina, N.C.; one sister, Lois Bush Rambo of Fredericksburg, Va.; and three grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Eackles-Spencer Funeral Home, Harpers Ferry. The Rev. Andrew Cooney will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Lutheran Cemetery, Bolivar, W.Va.
The family will receive friends Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
