Arley L. Evans
CLEAR SPRING - Arley Lee "Bill" Evans, 68, of 11311 National Pike, Clear Spring, died Saturday, June 5, 1999, at his home.
Born Jan. 24, 1931, in Keyser, W.Va., he was the son of the late George Franklin and Ida Mae Shokey Evans.
He was employed as a truck driver and a construction worker most of his life. He was employed with Plummer Construction Company and was last employed by Thompson Towing Service, Inc. and C. William Hetzer Company.
He was of the Protestant faith.
He was a member of Joseph C. Herbert American Legion Post 222 of Clear Spring, and Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 2462 of Williamsport.
He is survived by one daughter, C. Beth McPherson of Whiteville, N.C.; two sons, J. Jimmy Evans of Whiteville and J. Timothy Evans of Wheeling, Ill.; one sister, Ellen Jean Foust of Chambersburg, Pa.; six grandchildren and a special friend with whom he resided, Rosalie Thompson of Clear Spring.
He was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Donald Edwin Thompson Funeral Home, Inc., 13607 National Pike, Clear Spring. The Rev. Robert E. Timmons will officiate. Burial will be in Shanktown Cemetery, Big Pool.
The family will receive friends Tuesday two hours prior to the services at the funeral home.
Charles A Winpigler
FREDERICK, Md. - Charles A. Winpigler passed away on June 4, 1999, at Citizens Nursing Home.
Born Jan. 5, 1921, in Pearl, Md., he was the son of the late Joseph Keefer Winpigler and Nora Speaks Winpigler.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Jane Arbaugh Winpigler.
He was employed as a supervisor with Everedy Co. in Frederick from 1936 to 1968, and then as a real estate agent with Ernie Ausherman Realty Co.
He was a member of Frederick Church of the Brethren and the Friendship Class of the church. Previously, he was a member of Thurmont Church of the Brethren, where he taught Sunday School for 14 years, was superintendent for five years and served on many committees.
He was a member of B.P.O. Elks Club 684. He volunteered with Frederick Memorial Hospital Auxiliary for 13 years and with Meals on Wheels for 13 years.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and reading.
He is survived by his wife, Grace Harshman Winpigler; a stepdaughter, Becky Brashear; a stepson, Dente L. Brashear; a sister, Jessie Brengle of Tennessee; two step grandchildren; a step great-grandson; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Marie Winpigler Crest and Eva Droneburg; and three brothers, Maurice, Roy and Lawrence Winpigler.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Frederick Church of the Brethren, 201 Fairview Ave., Frederick. The Revs. Paul Mundey, Lerry W. Fogle and David Eberly will officiate. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick.
The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick. Friends may call all day.

Guy E. Keadle
BOONSBORO - Guy Elmer Keadle, 86, of 21432 Greenbriar Road, died Thursday, June 3, 1999, at Clearview Nursing Home, Hagerstown.
Born Oct. 3, 1912, in Mapleville, he was the son of the late Elmer Hammond and Mary Catherine Doyle Keadle.
He was employed as Washington County Landfill director, retiring in 1984, and was employed by Richard Kline and Pangborn Corp.
He was of the Protestant faith.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Ethel E. Stottlemyer Keadle; one son, Donald E. Keadle of Boonsboro; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Nelson Lee Keadle and Ronald R. Keadle; four sisters; and two brothers.
Burial will be in Boonsboro cemetery at the convenience of the family.
Family and friends may call at the residence of Mrs. Keadle at any time.
Arrangements are by Davis Funeral Home in Smithsburg.
Jennifer J. Billman
Jennifer Jean Billman, 54, of 342 E. Franklin St., Hagerstown, died Tuesday, June 4, 1999, at her home.
Born Dec. 23, 1944, in Washington County, she was the daughter of Mildred Suffecool Benner Burger of Hagerstown and the late Norman E. Benner Sr.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roland L. Billman Sr.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her stepfather, William Burger; four daughters, Melissa A. Billman, Tammy L. Billman, Jodi L. Billman and Amanda D. Ingram, all of Hagerstown; four sisters, Mary L. Turner, Nancy L. Benner, Rebecca A. Haugh and Debra K. Benner, all of Hagerstown; a brother, Norman E. Benner Jr. of Hagerstown; seven grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia A. Roser.
Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Victor Foltz will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Florence M. McCoy
CAMBRIA, Calif. - Florence MacMichael McCoy, 80, of Cambria and formerly of Hagerstown, died Friday, May 28, 1999, at her home.
Born in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Roy A. and Mary Wahl MacMichael Sr.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Sebryn Myers.
She pursued an acting and singing career at an early age, appearing in Potomac Playmakers Productions and on local radio shows.
After attending the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City, she played a number of major roles in summer stock.
She appeared in the Broadway musicals "On the Town" and "Auntie Mame" in California.
She starred in "Out of the Frying Pan" on Broadway and later appeared in the movie version of "Young and Willing."
Her television shows included a number of Alfred Hitchcock shows; and, she was a regular on "My Three Sons" and "Mr. Ed".
She founded Studio Players in Sierra Madre, where she directed for many years and acted and directed at Pasadena Playhouse.
She is survived by her husband, James McCoy; a daughter, Anne Alstatt of Pasadena, Calif.; a son, Patrick Myers of Las Angeles; a sister, Jean Hussett of Hagerstown; a brother, Roy A. MacMichael Jr. of Hagerstown; three grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Amanda Alstatt.
Private graveside services and burial took place in Cambria.
Arrangements were by Benedit Rettey Mortuary, Cambria.
Dorothy M. Bergmann
MYERSVILLE, Md. - Dorothy M. Bergmann, 92, of Loy Wolfe Road, died Thursday, June 3, 1999, at her home.
Born Dec. 17, 1906, in Villa Ridge, Ill., she was the daughter of the late Francis M. and Amy Gould Dille.
She is survived by two daughters, Amy Ellis, with whom she lived, and Elizabeth Maloon of Greenville, Ohio; a son, Don Bergmann of Winchester, Ind.; a sister, Elizabeth Schwartz of Mount Vernon, Ill.; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be today at 7 p.m. at Ricketts Funeral Home, 504 Main St., Myersville. The Revs. David Dawson and Ronald Ellis will officiate.
Burial will be in Snell Cemetery, Greenville, Ohio.
The family will receive friends today from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
