Iva L. Andrews
Iva Leona Andrews, 82, of Ravenwood Nursing Home, and formerly of 10846 Downsville Pike, Hagerstown, died Tuesday, June 1, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Sept. 3, 1916, in Big Pool, she was the daughter of the late Harry James and Cealie Elizabeth Reed Trumpower.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert K. Andrews, in 1990.
She was employed by Washington County School Lunch Program at E. Russell Hicks, retiring in 1976.
She was a member of Hagerstown Grace Brethren Church.
She was secretary/treasurer of Christian Education Conventions District No. 5; and taught Golden Rule Sunday School Class at St. Matthew's United Methodist Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Carolyn Kendall of Hagerstown; a son, Riley F. Andrews of Hagerstown; five sisters, Daisy Pittman of Mercersburg, Pa., Virgie Kline and Lola Miller, both of Big Pool, Dorothy Hose of Edgewood, Md., and Laura Kline of Hagerstown; and a grandson.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Ernest Trumpower, Alonzo Trumpower and Earl Trumpower.
Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Robert L. Dell will officiate. Burial will be in Parkhead cemetery in Big Pool.
The family will receive friends Friday at noon at the funeral home.
Helen E. Dibert
BOONSBORO - Helen Elizabeth Dibert, 89, of 20718 Netz Road, died Tuesday, June 1, 1999, at Avalon Manor Nursing Home.
Born July 1, 1909, in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Elizabeth Brewer Leatherman.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph R. Dibert, in 1969.
She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church.
She is survived by a son, Eugene Dibert of Hagerstown; a grandson, Ronald E. Dibert Sr. of Hagerstown; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a stepson, Vernon Richard Dibert; and a brother, Brewer Leatherman.
Services will be Friday at 11:30 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Raymond H. Shriver will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Ronald R. Teach
WILLIAMSPORT - Ronald Ray Teach, 52, of Clearview Nursing Home, and formerly of Clear Spring Road, died Wednesday, June 2, 1999, at Clearview Nursing Home, Hagerstown.
Born July 31, 1946, in Pinesburg, Md., he was the son of the late William Walter and Lyda Mae Staley Teach.
He was a 1964 graduate of Williamsport High School.
He was previously employed by Danzer Metal Works in Halfway; and William Teach and Sons Well Drilling in Pinesburg.
He was a member of St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church in Williamsport.
He is survived by two sisters, Betty M. Moore of Williamsport and Beulah V. Keller of Pinesburg; nieces; nephews; cousins; an aunt; and a great-aunt.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth L. Teach.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 9 a.m. at St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church, 32 E. Potomac St., Williamsport. The Rev. Alfred E. Smith will be celebrant. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Williamsport.
Friends may call Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport. The funeral home will be open Friday after 9 a.m.
Charles J. Everly
Charles Joseph "Peck" Everly, 86, of 16110 Everly Road, Hagerstown, died Tuesday, June 1, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Oct. 7, 1912, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Albert Grover and Beulah Irene Armstrong Everly.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mamie Rebecca Everly, on Feb. 23, 1999.
He owned and operated Everly Bus Lines. He was a bus driver for Blue Ridge Bus Lines, Greyhound and Antietam Transit of Hagerstown. He also was a farmer.
He was a past president of the Driver's Union.
He was a member of Robinwood Church of God, Hagerstown.
He was a member of Eagles of Waynesboro, Pa.; and a member and volunteer with Antietam Fire Co. of Hagerstown.
He is survived by a daughter, Donna Mae Everly of Hagerstown; three sisters, Mary Springer, Mildred Carbaugh and Eloise Semler, all of Hagerstown; a brother, Harvey Everly of Hagerstown; a granddaughter; three great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Charles Wayne Everly.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport. Pastor Henry Marquiss will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown.
Friends may call Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, which will be open after 9 a.m.
John R. Badum
BATAVIA, N.Y. - John R. Badum, 46, of Batavia, and formerly of Hagerstown, died Sunday, May 30, 1999, in Batavia.
Born Dec. 24, 1952, in New Brunswick, N.J., he was the son of John Badum of Greencastle, Pa., and Patricia MacKay of St. Paul, Minn.
He attended school in Hagerstown.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by two sisters, Mary Badum Harper of Leesburg, Va., and Theresa Badum of Batavia.
Private services will be held in New York City.
Clifford E. Haupt
MIDDLETOWN, Md. - Clifford Elwood "Chick" Haupt, 88, of 9412 Frostown Road, died Tuesday, June 1, 1999, at Frederick (Md.) Memorial Hospital.
Born March 20, 1911, in Frostown, Md., he was the son of the late Ezra and Esta Palmer Haupt.
He was a retired farmer and mason.
He is survived by his wife, June Gilbert Haupt; a son, Michael E. Haupt of Middletown; a stepson, Ronald E. Toms of Frederick; five step grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Donald B. Thompson Funeral Home, 31 E. Main St., Middletown. The Rev. Tracy E. Wiser will officiate. Burial will be in Harmony Cemetery, Myersville.
Friends may call any time today at the funeral home.
The family received friends Tuesday, June 1, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
William A. Stewart
BRUNSWICK, Md. - William Anthony Stewart, 70, of 922 E. D St., died Sunday, May 30, 1999, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born June 2, 1928, in Washington, D.C., he was the son of the late George and Margaret Bode Stewart.
A retired master plumber, he owned and operated William A. Stewart Inc. in Gaithersburg, Md.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army.
He was of the Catholic faith.
He was a member of Master Plumbers Association.
He is survived by his wife Barbara Stewart; two daughters, Elizabeth Stewart of Frederick, Md., and Anna Grossnickle of Myersville, Md.; four sons, John Stewart, William Stewart and Larry Swanger, all of Brunswick, and Robert Stewart of Boyds, Md.; a sister, Anita Jones of King George, Va.; a brother, John Stewart of California; 10 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Fred Stewart.
Services will be today at 7:30 p.m. at John T. Williams Funeral Home, 100 Petersville Road, Brunswick. The Rev. Lawrence J. Gesy will officiate. Private burial will be at the convenience of the family.
