Ralph H. Blank
FREDERICK, Md. - Ralph H. Blank, 79, of 8441 Edgewood Church Road, Frederick, and a resident of Northampton Manor Nursing Home, died Friday, May 21, 1999, at Frederick Memorial Hospital, Frederick.
Born Jan. 5, 1920, in Frederick County, he was the son of the late Wilfred Guy and Effie Virginia Delauter Blank.
For most of his life he had worked as a brick and stone mason with his father and Merhl Staley.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II with the 121st Infantry 8th Army. He fought at Normandy.
He was an active member of Edgewood First Church of God.
He was a member of Francis Scott Key American Legion Post 11, Frederick.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria Senft Blank; one daughter, Judy A. Socks of Myersville, Md.; one son, Rex K. Blank of Boonsboro; two sisters, Dorothy Hildebrand and Yvonne Hooper, both of Rocky Springs, Md.; one brother, Rudolph Blank of Rocky Springs; six grandchildren; two special friends, Jason and Jimmy Remsburg of Boonsboro and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter and two brothers, Lloyd Blank and Leon Blank.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Edgewood First Church of God. The Rev. Duanne L. Beck will officiate. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 at Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church St., Frederick. For the convenience of friends the funeral home will be open on Tuesday from 3 to 9 p.m.

Catherine R. Colston
Catherine R. Colston, 90, formerly of 49 W. Bethel St., Hagerstown died Friday, May 21, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born April 26, 1909, in Frederick, Md., she was the daughter of the late Roy C. and Daisy G. Wilkinson Walker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James R. Colston.
She was a graduate of North Street School.
She worked as a domestic.
She was a member of Ebenezer A.M.E. Church.
She was a member of Sharon Temple 160 of I.B.P.O.E. of W. and Associate Goodwill Club.
She is survived by two nieces; two nephews and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Viola Johnson and three brothers, Roy Walker, Austin Walker and Ejoy Walker.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Leroy Jackson will officiate.

Michael W. Burger
Michael William Burger, 30, of 734 Guilford Ave., Hagerstown, died Friday, May 22, 1999, at his home.
Born May 26, 1968, in Hagerstown, he was the son of William E. and Pamela Gibney Burger of Hagerstown.
He was a 1986 graduate of South Hagerstown High School.
He was employed as a mechanic with Black Rock Golf Course in Hagerstown.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Cathy A. Sword Burger; two sisters, Angela Burger of Missouri and Annette Pursley of California; a brother, Matthew W. Burger of Hagerstown; maternal grandfather, Ralph Gibney of Hagerstown; a stepdaughter, Cori Mullen of Williamsport; a stepson, James Mullen of Hagerstown; three step grandsons; three nieces and two nephews.
Services will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at Donald E. Thompson Funeral Home, Inc., 13607 National Pike, Clear Spring. The Rev. William Kesecker will officiate. Burial will be in Blairs Valley Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Naomi Rinehart
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Naomi Rinehart, 88, of Fort Lauderdale and formerly of Hagerstown, the Virgin Islands and the Bahamas, died Friday, May 21, 1999.
Born Sept. 11, 1910, near Chewsville, she was the daughter of the late John Elmer and Ida Susan Waltz.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph A. Rinehart.
After earning her degree from college, she was employed as a legal secretary at an insurance firm in Maryland. Later, she moved to Fort Lauderdale with her family and with them operated a locally owned business. She also lived and worked in the Virgin Islands. She retired in 1974 and moved to the Bahamas.
She is survived by two sons, Charles Rinehart of Lake Worth, Fla. and Terry Rinehart of Sunrise, Fla.; a sister, Jane Evans of Boca Raton, Fla.; and a brother, John Waltz of Hagerstown.
Services will be Tuesday at Fred Hunter's University Drive Funeral Home, Davie, Fla. Burial will follow in Lauderdale Memorial Park, Fort Lauderdale.
The family will receive friends today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Rozella M. Lane
Rozella Mae Lane, 75, of 1200 Virginia Ave., Hagerstown, died Saturday, May 22, 1999, at her home.
Born July 31, 1923, in Oxford, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Leon and Mae Ingram Brigham.
She was owner and operator of Rozella's Beauty Salon and Antietam Beauty Salon for more than 20 years.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Robert E. Lane; a son, William Robert Lane of Clear Spring; a sister, Laura Bauder of Norwich, N.Y.; two brothers, Leon Brigham of Earlville, N.Y. and Kenneth Brigham of Wilkes-Barre, Pa.; and a granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Maude Wright; and a brother, Duane Brigham.
Services and burial will be at the convenience of the family.
The family requests the omission of flowers.

BOONSBORO - Josie Dorothy "Dot" McDermott, 77, 8507 Mapleville Road, formerly of Hagerstown, died Thursday, May 20, 1999, at Fahrney Keedy Nursing Home.
Born July 3, 1921, in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of the late Charles L. and Eva L. Richter Wilkerson.
She was a former civilian employee of Fort Meade, Md., and Fort Myer, Va. She retired from Lippincott-Raven Publishing Co. in 1986.
She was a member of Hagerstown Independent Church.
She was a member of the Rainbow Bowling League at Southside Bowl, Hagerstown.
She is survived by two daughters, Joyce D. Davis and Jean M. Clark, both of Clear Spring; one brother, Charles L. Wilkerson of Keswick, Va.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Barbara A. McKinney.
Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown. The Rev. Ernest Thompson and the Rev. Louis Emerick will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park in Hagerstown.
Visitation will be at the funeral home Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday one hour prior to the service.
