Mabel M. Keller
Mabel Marie Keller, 88, of 1118 Salem Ave., Hagerstown, died Wednesday, May 19, 1999, at her home.
Born Aug. 5, 1910, in Nova, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Alda Myers Hose.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Keller.
She was employed by Victor Hosiery.
She was a member of Broadfording Bible Brethren Church.
She is survived by a daughter, June V. Spickler of Hagerstown; two sisters, Viola Bowers and Elise Humelsine, both of Greencastle, Pa.; two grandsons, three great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Services will be Saturday at noon at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Revs. Bill Clark and Charles Barney will officiate. Burial will be in Broadfording cemetery in Hagerstown.
The family will receive friends Saturday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Samuel E. Pruett
WILLIAMSPORT - Samuel Edwin Pruett, 72, of 10910 Stuart Drive, died Wednesday, May 19, 1999, at Homewood Nursing Care Center.
Born Aug. 15, 1926, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Charles Granger and Maude Anna Bailey Pruett.
He was a 1944 graduate of Hagerstown High School. He graduated from the University of Maryland in 1950 with a bachelor of science degree in business administration. He graduated from Western Maryland College in 1970 with a master's degree in counseling.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army in the European Theater.
He retired in 1991 from the State of Maryland, Department of Economic and Employment Development. He previously was employed by Fairchild Aircraft Manufacturing in Hagerstown as a material control analyst.
He was a member of First Christian Church, and the Ever Ready Sunday School Class.
He was a founder of the Hagerstown Civil War Roundtable in 1957, and had been a member of the Living History Civil War re-enactment artillery unit. He was president of the board of trustees of Washington cemetery in Hagerstown at Rose Hill. He was a member of Washington County Historic Advisory Commission; Antietam Battlefield Advisory Commission; Disabled American Veterans; West Virginia Society; and Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity at University of Maryland.
He is survived by his wife, Dianne "Dody" Thyra Pruett, whom he married
April 25, 1952; one daughter, Sarah Shamlal of Herndon, Va.; two sons, Charles G. Pruett of Elkton, Md., and James Davis Pruett of Oakland, Tenn.; one sister, Charlotte Bowen of Lamont, Wash.; three grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at First Christian Church, 1345 Potomac Ave., Hagerstown. The Rev. Fred Harris will officiate. Burial will be in Monte Vista Park cemetery in Bluefield, W.Va., Monday at 11 a.m.
The family will receive friends at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, today from 7 to 9 p.m.

Olivia W. Farah
Olivia W. Farah, 85, of 1003 The Terrace, Hagerstown, died Friday, May 14, 1999, at the home of her daughter, Vivian Domian.
Born Sept. 18, 1913, in Broummana, Lebanon, she was the daughter of the late Murad and Najibe Rizk.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wadih J. Farah, in 1979.
She and her husband owned and operated several hotels in Lebanon.
She is survived by two daughters, Jacquline Anid of Pasadena, Calif., and Vivian Domian of San Dimas, Calif.; a son, J. Ramsay Farah, M.D. of Hagerstown; a sister, Olga Hallett of Binghamton, N.Y.; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 9 a.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church, Hagerstown. The Rev. Andrew S. Mohl will be celebrant. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Logan W. Gladfelter
CLEAR SPRING - Logan Wade Gladfelter, stillborn infant of Christopher and Leann Long Gladfelter of Clear Spring, died at birth Tuesday, May 18, 1999, at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by two sisters, Alisha Gladfelter and Alyce Gladfelter, both at home; maternal grandmother, Wanda Olden of Hagerstown; maternal grandfather, Stuart Long of McConnellsburg, Pa.; maternal great-grandmother, Shirley Martin of McConnellsburg; maternal great-grandparents, Oscar and Lorraine Long of McConnellsburg; paternal grandmother, Myrna Long of McConnellsburg; paternal great-grandparents, Parker and Katherine Bivens of Big Cove Tannery, Pa.; and paternal great-great-grandmother, Emma Carbaugh of McConnellsburg.
Graveside services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Parklawns Memorial Gardens, near Chambersburg, Pa.

Richard K. McDowell
Richard K. McDowell, 57, of 119 John St., Hagerstown, died Wednesday, May 19, 1999, at his home.
Born April 25, 1942, in Waynesboro, Pa., he was the son of the late David E. and Evelyn B. Wolfinger McDowell.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca A. Houpt McDowell, in 1998.
He owned and operated Dick's Glass Shop for 31 years. He previously worked for Two Guys Department Store and Victor Ditto.
He was a member of First Christian Church.
He was a member of Funkstown Rod and Gun Club.
He is survived by four daughters, Trudy Marie Thomas, Teresa Ann Fair and Elizabeth Starr Hay, all of Hagerstown, and Pamela Sue Fair of Smithsburg; a son, James David McDowell of Hagerstown; and 12 grandchildren.
Services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Anna M. Grimm
BOONSBORO - Anna Margaret Grimm, 88, of Reeders Memorial Home, and formerly of 12703 Greencastle Pike, Hagerstown, died Tuesday, May 18, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born March 2, 1911, in Fauquier, Va., she was the daughter of the late James and Luella Gum Rhodes.
Her husband, Leon Martin Grimm, preceded her in death.
She was a member of Hagerstown Church of the Brethren, and Personal Works Sunday School Class.
She is survived by one daughter, Dorothy Rhoton of Hagerstown; one son, Kenneth L. Grimm of Hagerstown; six grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by five sisters, Hilda Roadcap, Edna McCamy, Ruth Gum, Edith Hook, and Lila Surratt; and two brothers, Westley Gum, and Wilber Gum.
Services and burial will be at the convenience of the family.
There will be no viewing.

John H. Reed
CLEAR SPRING - John Henry "Jim" Reed, 89, of 12328 Big Spring Road, died Wednesday, May 19, 1999, at his home.
Born Oct. 1, 1909, in Big Pool, he was the son of the late James Jeramiah and Emma Harriet Bloyer Reed.
His wife, Ada Katherine Turner Reed, died in 1995.
He was a foreman with Western Maryland Railway, retiring after 40 years.
He was a member of Mount Calvary Church of God of Clear Spring.
He was a member of the AFL-CIO.
He is survived by one daughter, Evelyn J. Stevens of Clear Spring; a foster daughter, Ruby L. Martin of Hagerstown; one son, Donald T. Reed of Clear Spring; one brother, Bruce Frederick Reed of Hampton, Va.; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Donald E. Thompson Funeral Home, 13607 National Pike, Clear Spring. The Revs. Andrew Stevens and Robert Timmons will officiate. Burial will be in Shanktown cemetery in Big Pool.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 7 to 9 p.m.
