Mildred R. Weller
FUNKSTOWN - Mildred Ruth Weller, 74, of Funkstown, died Thursday, May 13, 1999, at Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown.
Born March 25, 1925, in Williamsport, she was the daughter of the late Charles Edward and Gladys Bolitho Brandt.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Victor Well, who died in 1975.
She retired in 1987 from Maryland Ribbon Co. as a blocker.
She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Funkstown.
She was a member of Funkstown American Legion Post 211 Auxiliary.
She is survived by one daughter, Vicki Spielman Eccard of Falling Waters, W.Va.; one son, Michael Wayne Weller of Smithsburg; two sisters, Marian Wade of Hagerstown and Dorothy Lovell of State Line, Pa.; one brother, C. William Brandt of Hagerstown; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Jack Showe of Hagerstown.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Evelyn Fair, and two brothers, Robert Brandt and Harold Brandt.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport. The Rev. Darrell L. Layman will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Williamsport.
The family will receive friends Tuesday one hour prior to the services. For the convenience of family and friends the funeral home will be open on Tuesday after 9 a.m.

Pauline R. Crum
WOODSBORO, Md. - Pauline Redmond Crum, 90, of 102 S. Second St., Woodsboro, died Sunday, May 16, 1999, at Frederick Memorial Hospital, Frederick, Md.
Born June 13, 1908, in Woodsboro, she was the daughter of the late Keller Utah and Minnie Pearl Grimes Redmond.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger William Crum, who died in 1982.
She was retired from Rose Bud Perfume Co., Woodsboro, and formerly was employed at Shriners Manufacturing Co.
She is survived by two daughters, Helen Virginia Hubbard of Hagerstown and Sue Patricia Mantell of Woodsboro; two sons, Wayne B. Crum of Frederick and Charles Henry Crum of Woodsboro; Perry Pritchard of Woodsboro, with whom she resided; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Nancy Kritsings, two sons, John S. Crum and Roger Crum; and one sister, Jane Crum.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Hartzler Funeral Home, 404 S. Main St., Woodsboro. The Rev. Elmer R. Breeden Jr. will officiate. Entombment will be in the family mausoleum at Mount Hope Cemetery, Woodsboro.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 2 to 7 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Janice E. Coffeen
Janice Elizabeth Lantz Coffeen, of Hagerstown, died Friday, May 14, 1999, in Hagerstown.
She was born in Walpole, N.H.
She was a graduate of Bryant College, Providence, R.I.
She was a homemaker and worked as an executive secretary for numerous organizations, including Wells Fargo Bank, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and Washington County Mental Health Center.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Robert G. Coffeen of Hagerstown; two sons, Thomas Coffeen of Treasure Island, Fla., and Stephen Coffeen of Mill Valley, Calif.; one sister, Phyllis Harrington of Stuart, Fla.; three brothers, James Lantz of Newport, N.H., Robert Lantz of York Beach, Maine, and Albert Lantz of Keene, N.H.
A private memorial service was held last week in Northfield, Mass.

Betty L. Schwanebeck
BOONSBORO - Betty Lou Testerman Schwanebeck, 66, a resident of Reeders Memorial Home and formerly of Germantown, Md., died Friday, May 14, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Services will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Bast Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro. The Rev. Leon Dodson will officiate. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick, Md.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Betty L. Schwanebeck
BOONSBORO - Betty Lou Testerman Schwanebeck, 66, a resident of Reeders Memorial Home and formerly of Germantown, Md., died Friday, May 14, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Dec. 28, 1932, in Bethesda, Md., she was the daughter of the late Ezekiel and Inez Bladen Testerman.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene J. Schwanebeck.
She was a retired employee of Tastee Diner in Bethesda.
She was a member of Damascus Wesleyan Church.
She is survived by two brothers, Andrew Testerman of Ellicott City, Md., and Joseph Testerman of Hagerstown; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister and brothers.

Philip R. Kerns
WILLIAMSPORT - Philip Randolph Kerns, 58, of 409 S. Artizan St., died Thursday, May 13, 1999, at Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown.
Born Sept. 4, 1940, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Winton Harry and Mary Catherine Dutrow Kerns Sr.
He was employed as a sheet metal mechanic for Hagerstown Aviation Services for 37 years.
He was a former member of Hagerstown Moose Club 212 and Hagerstown Owls Club.
He is survived by his wife, Devona Irene Mellott Kerns of Williamsport; one brother, Les H. Kerns of Hagerstown; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Winton H. Kerns Jr.
Graveside services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Rest Haven Cemetery, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown. The Rev. Donald N. Kretzer will officiate.
Friends may call at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport, Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral home will be open after 9 a.m. for the convenience of family and friends.
Anna R. Lore
WILMINGTON, Del. - Anna Rebecca "Becky" Lore, 94, of Wilmington, and formerly of Solomons, Md., died Saturday, May 8, 1999, at her home.
Born Dec. 9, 1904, in Williamsport, she was the daughter of the late Joseph E. and Mary Della Downs.
Her husband, Kenneth E. Lore Sr., preceded her in death.
She was past treasurer of St. Peters Episcopal Chapel.
She was a 50-year member of Eastern Star Marlboro Chapter 61.
She is survived by one daughter, Anne Hinkley of Wilmington; one son, Kenneth E. Lore Jr. of Severna Park, Md.; one sister, Agnes Cunningham of Hagerstown; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services were held Thursday at St. Peters Episcopal Church, Solomons. The Rev. Berkley Ford officiated. Burial was in Solomons Methodist Cemetery.
