Catherine E. Poole
WILLIAMSPORT - Catherine Eyerly Schindel Poole, 95, of Homewood Retirement Center in Williamsport, and formerly of Hagerstown, died Sunday, May 9, 1999, at the nursing home.
Born March 27, 1904, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late David Philip and Leah Eyerly Schindel.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Franklin Poole, M.D.
She attended local public schools; and attended a woman's college in Roanoke, Va.
She was a member of Zion Reformed Church (Zion United Church of Christ).
She was active in Washington County Auxiliary and Service Workers at Zion.
She is survived by one niece, Sally Schindel Cone of Greensboro, N.C.; two grandnieces; a great-great-niece, and a great-great-nephew.
She was preceded in death by one brother, David Philip Jr.
A memorial service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Homewood Chapel, Williamsport, followed by a committal service at Rose Hill Cemetery. The Revs. Jack Dale Cook and Willard F. Rahn will officiate.
The family will receive friends Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the chapel.

Hazel G. Miller
Hazel G. Miller, 73, of 17451 Cindy Lane, Hagerstown, died Monday, May 10, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Aug. 10, 1925, in Shanktown, Md., she was the daughter of the late Lewis Franklin and Viola May Davis Snyder.
She was of the Methodist faith.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Charles E. Miller Sr.; one son, Charles E. Miller Jr.; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four sisters, Lillie V. Clark, Mildred V. Norris, Delores M. Baker and Esther V. Baker.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, 40 E. Antietam St., Hagerstown. The Rev. Ernest E. Witmer will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Travis R. Morris Jr.
Travis Richard Morris Jr., infant son of Travis Richard Morris Sr. and Blair Miller Morris, died Friday, May 7, 1999, at his home.
He is survived by one sister, Savannah Nichole Shank, at home; maternal grandmother, Belinda K. Mullin of Martinsburg; paternal grandparents, Joetta Laverne Evans Morris and Joseph Richard Morris Sr. of Martinsburg; maternal great-grandmother, Helen McDaniel of Martinsburg; and paternal great-grandmother, Mary Morris of Marlboro, Md.
He was preceded in death by maternal great-grandparents, William E. and Sara Dockeney Mullin; paternal great-grandparents, Katherine and John Frazier, and Neva and Richard Gray.
Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Rosedale Funeral Chapel in Martinsburg. The Rev. Gene Gossett will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the service.
Aleta A. Otzelberger
SHARPSBURG - Aleta Ardella Otzelberger, 87, of 4511 Harpers Ferry Road, Sharpsburg, died Saturday, May 8, 1999, at Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown.
Born April 23, 1912, in Keedysville, she was the daughter of the late Clarence William and Annie Elizabeth Drenner Byrd.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Allen Otzelberger, Sr., who died in 1986.
She was a homemaker.
She was a lifelong member of Antietam Church of God, Sharpsburg.
She is survived by two sons, Floyd R. Otzelberger of Boonsboro and John A. Otzelberger, Jr. of Sharpsburg; one sister, Ruth Carpenter of Shepherdstown, W.Va.; two brothers, Gardner Byrd of Oakton, Va. and Theodore Byrd of Shepherdstown; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, David R. Otzelberger; two sisters, Beatrice Ingram and Thelma Hammond and three brothers, Kenneth Byrd, Carl Byrd and Charles Byrd.
Graveside services and burial will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Mt. View Cemetery, Sharpsburg.
Friends may visit Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport.

Robert B. Lewis, Sr.
Robert Bernard Lewis, Sr., 73, of 11902 Phyland Drive, Hagerstown, died Saturday, May 8, 1999, at his home.
Born July 31, 1925, in Foxville, Md., he was the son of the late John Ervin and Carrie Virginia Kendall Lewis.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Leah Virginia Lewis, who died in 1998.
He was retired from Pangborn Corp. after 36 years of service. He was also a local contractor.
He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church.
He was a member of Chewsville Lions Club, where he served as past president. He was a member of B.P.O. Elks Lodge 378.
He is survived by one daughter, Robin D. Himes of Hagerstown; three sons, Robert B. Lewis, Larry C. Lewis and Steven R. Lewis, all of Hagerstown; two brothers, Harold R. Lewis of Myersville, Md. and Richard L. Lewis of Hagerstown; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Jane Piper.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Chapel of Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown. The Rev. Raymond H. Shriver will officiate. Burial will be in Garfield United Methodist Church Cemetery, Foxville.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Russell W. Priest
Russell Wesley Priest, 82, of 19017 Reedtown Road, Hagerstown, died Saturday, May 8, 1999, at Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown.
Born Jan. 29, 1917, in Newville, Pa., he was the son of the late George M. Sr. and Celia Trekel Priest.
He was a 1935 graduate of Hagerstown High School.
He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1984 as a mail carrier. He also was the owner and operator of Swiss Cottage for 5 years. Later he was a realtor with Long & Foster and Century 21.
He was a veteran the U.S. Army, having served in World War II.
He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.
He was a member of Morris Frock American Legion Post 42, V.F.W. Post 1936, B.P.O. Elks 378 and Eagles Inc., of Waynesboro.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jane E. Arnsparger Priest; two sons, R. Lantz Priest of Woodbine, Md. and Tyler H. Priest of Hagerstown; one sister, Mary J. Priest of Hagerstown; one brother, Stephen T. Priest of Hagerstown and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Peter H. Priest and George M. Priest, Jr.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Chapel of Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown. The Rev. Robert S. Barton and the Rev. Darryl C. Zoller will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.
