Nata A. Kass
WILLIAMSPORT - Nata A. Kass, 83, of 16505 Virginia Ave., and formerly of South Orange, N.J., died Tuesday, May 4, 1999, at her home.
Born Feb. 8, 1916, in East Orange, she was the daughter of the late Roland V. and Dorothy Leland Addis.
She was a graduate of Columbia High School, and Katharine Gibbs Secretarial School.
She was employed by Kenyon and Eckhardt Advertising, Columbia Broadcasting Co., and Carol Cards Inc.
She was a volunteer at Community Day Nursery in East Orange, Milton School in Millburn, N.J., and Toy Bureau of the Oranges.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Frederic H. Kass Jr.; one daughter, Dorothea K. Kostishack of Arden Hills, N.M.; one son, Dr. Frederic H. Kass III of Hagerstown; one sister, Dorothy Bigelow of Madison, N.J.; four grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Muriel A. Timpson.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family. A gathering of family and friends will be held this summer in New Jersey.
Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Alice R. Downey
WILLIAMSPORT - Alice Rohrer Downey, 78, of 16505 Virginia Ave., died Wednesday, May 5, 1999, at her home.
Born March 5, 1921, in Funkstown, she was the daughter of the late Ray F. and Anna Hollyday Rohrer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Hollinger Downey, in 1979.
She was a 1939 graduate of Hagerstown High School; and a 1943 graduate of Western Maryland College.
She and her husband owned and operated Downey Dairy. She farmed until her husband's death in 1979.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.
She was a member of Women's Club; and a former member of Zonta Club of Hagerstown.
She is survived by a daughter, Suzanne Downey Hayes of Williamsport; and two grandchildren, Lindsay E. Hayes and Daniel S. Hayes, both of Williamsport.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Louise Rohrer and Mary Stiles; and a brother, Richard Rohrer.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, 40 E. Antietam St., Hagerstown. The Rev. Edward H. Heim will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

James F. Seipler
James F. Seipler, 78, of 11326 Greenberry Road, Hagerstown, died Wednesday, May 5, 1999, at Homewood Retirement Center, Williamsport.
Born Feb. 21, 1921, in Catoctin Furnace, Md., he was the son of the late Cordie Alvin and Helen Stitley Seipler.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia E. Hayman Seipler, in 1987.
He was employed by Pangborn Corp. for 40 years, retiring in 1985.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, in Germany, England and Scotland.
He was a member of Williamsport United Methodist Church.
He was a member of Dixon Troxell Post No. 211 Funkstown American Legion; Pangborn Quarter Century Club; and AARP.
He is survived by a daughter, Gail K. Emery of Hagerstown; a son, Jay L. Seipler of Hagerstown; three grandchildren; and two nieces.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ann Hackett.
Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, 40 E. Antietam St., Hagerstown. The Rev. Richard A. Kroll will officiate. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Cemetery, Thurmont, Md.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Roxane W. Askins
FREDERICK, Md. - Roxane W. Askins, 33, of 9710 B Bethel Road, died Tuesday, May 4, 1999, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
Born April 24, 1966, in Frederick, she was the daughter of Don Askins of Boonsboro, and Fay A. Mitchell of Walkersville, Md., and stepdaughter of Roy Mitchell of Walkersville.
She was a 1984 graduate of Governor Thomas Johnson High School.
She was account manager assistant for Metlfab Inc. in Frederick for several years, and recently began working for Betchel Corp. in Gaithersburg, Md.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by two sons, Justin and Jake Wright of Frederick; her fiance, Dwayne Wright of Frederick; one half brother, Corey Askins of North Hills, Calif.; one stepbrother, Roy Mitchell of Hagerstown; one stepsister, Tonya Hollingsworth of Charlottesville, Va.; aunts, uncles and cousins.
Services and burial will be private.
The family will receive friends at 9 Chapel Place, Walkersville, Friday from 6 to 8 p.m.

Richard C. Grove
Richard Cecil Grove, 85, of 112 W. Howard St., Hagerstown, died Tuesday, May 4, 1999, at his home.
Born Dec. 26, 1913, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Ralph Cecil and Jeannette H. Haffner Grove.
He was employed with Potomac Diner.
He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church and Luther Fellowship Class.
He is survived by several cousins.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. David B. Kaplan will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill cemetery in Waynesboro, Pa.
The family will receive friends Saturday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Leonard T. Reese
Leonard Thomas Reese, 77, of 344 Henry Ave., Hagerstown, died Monday, May 3, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Aug. 18, 1921, in Emporia, Va., he was the son of the late Josie and Joe Willie Reese.
He attended school in Emporia.
He retired from Kettler Brothers of Gaithersburg, Md.
He is survived by his wife, Betty L. Reese; a daughter, Jacqueline Davis of Providence, R.I.; a son, Charles Douglas of Petersburg, Va.; and seven stepchildren, Tyrone Stanton, Reginald Scott Jr., Christopher Scott, Ruby A. Barnett, Regina A. Mason, Tracy Y. Brown and Toy L. Trent, all of Hagerstown.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Sally Lee Reese; and a brother, Matthew Reese.
Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Watson Funeral Home, 24 W. Bethel St., Hagerstown. The Rev. Joseph Fowlkes will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday one hour before the services at the funeral home.
