Margaret N. Greene
WILLIAMSPORT - Margaret N. Greene, 77, of 16505 Virginia Ave., died Monday, May 3, 1999, at Homewood Nursing Center, Williamsport.
Born Jan. 27, 1922, in Littlestown, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Edgar A. and Lula Mae Boward Snyder.
She was a 1941 graduate of Hagerstown High School, and a graduate of Columbia Business College.
She was the legal secretary for attorney Harold H. Hoffman for 32 years; later she was employed by Bowman Realty Century 21 North Suburban Reality.
She was a member of First Brethren Church, Hagerstown, where she was Sunday School superintendent, Sunday School teacher, Sunday School secretary and Bible School teacher. She also was the first female moderator of the church.
She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.
She was a member of the National Secretaries Association and was instrumental in establishing a local chapter.
She was a member of Greater Hagerstown Board of Realtors.
She is survived by her husband, William E. Greene Jr. of Williamsport; two sisters, Madeline C. O'Brien of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., and Barbara L. Stouffer of Hagerstown; nieces; nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy P. Snyder and Evelyn O. Harne; and three brothers, Richard J. Snyder, Wilbur A. Snyder and Harry A. Snyder.
Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown. Pastor Bruce Foster will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
David W. Bowers
David Wayne "Porky" Bowers, 43, of 558 Liberty St., Hagerstown, died Saturday, May 1, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born July 11, 1955, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Roy and Genevieve Bowers.
He attended North Hagerstown High School.
He was employed with Myers Masonry.
He was of the Protestant faith.
He is survived by one son, Derik W. Bowers of Hagerstown; one sister, Susie Blaire of Hagerstown; two brothers, Dennis Bowers and Roy Bowers, both of Hagerstown; one grandchild and a special friend, Doreen Bowers of Hagerstown.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 5 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Raymond H. Shriver will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

William I. Bunnell
KEEDYSVILLE - William I. Bunnell, 58, of Keedysville, died Monday, May 3, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Oct. 25, 1940 in Fairfield, Iowa, he was the son of the late Wallace Clausen and Jeannette Isabell Johnson Brunnell.
He attended Fairfield High School, Fairfield, and was a 1958 graduate of Mercersburg Academy, Mercersburg, Pa. He received his bachelors degree from Trinity College in Hartford, Conn., and his master's degree in library science from Columbia University, New York City.
He was retired as director of Library Services at Mercersburg Academy.
He was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Lappans, Md.
He was a member of American Library Association, Keedysville Historical Society, Keedysville Ruritan, Fairfield Lodge 1192 BPO Elks, Fairfield.
He is survived by one sister, Elizabeth A. Bunnell of Fairfield.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 4 p.m. at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 18313 Lappan Road, Boonsboro. The Rev. Anne O. Weatherholt will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mark's Episcopal Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends following the service in the Paris House.

Dorothy A. Springer
Dorothy Amelia Springer, 93, a resident of Colton Villa Nursing Center in Hagerstown, and formerly of Virginia Avenue, Hagerstown, died Sunday, May 2, 1999, at the nursing center.
Born Sept. 5, 1905, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Jacob M. and Bernadetta Amilia Johnson Springer.
She was employed by F&M Bank in Hagerstown for more than 42 years, retiring in 1973.
She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Hagerstown.
She is survived by cousins.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery, 600 S. Potomac St., Hagerstown. The Rev. Victor I. Zuck will officiate.
There will be no viewing.
Arrangements are by Osborne Funeral Home in Williamsport.
Mina L. Foltz
MIDDLETOWN, Md. - Mina L. Sweeney Foltz, 86, of 104 Broad St., Middletown, died Monday, May 3, 1999, at Frederick Memorial Hospital, Frederick, Md.
Born May 25, 1912, in Shepherdstown, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Victor H. and Nora A. Otzelberger Sweeney.
She was preceded in death by her husband, F. Ross Foltz, who died in 1986.
She was a graduate of Shepherdstown High School and Shepherd College.
She was retired from Farmers Co-Operative Association Inc., in the Middletown and Frederick branches.
She was a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church Zion, Middletown, where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir for many years.
She was active in Senior Citizens and Food and Friends groups in Middletown.
She is survived by two daughters, Judith D. Foltz of Baltimore and Mary Ann Foltz of Frederick; one son, Kenneth F. Foltz of Middletown; one brother, Stanley Sweeney of Fayetteville, Pa.; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Middletown. The Rev. Donald L. Turley will officiate. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery, Middletown.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at Donald B. Thompson Funeral Home, 31 E. Main St., Middletown. For the convenience of friends, they may call at the funeral home anytime on Thursday and one hour prior to the service at the church.

Charles W. Zahn Jr.
Charles William Zahn Jr., 93, of Ravenwood Lutheran Village, and formerly of 18833 Preston Road, Hagerstown, died Monday, May 3, 1999, at Ravenwood.
Born Nov. 3, 1905, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Charles William Sr. and Clara Newman Zahn.
He was employed as a manager of American Grocery Store, Hagerstown and later with Corkrin Hill, Baltimore, as a salesman and then with V. W. Joyner & Co.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church where he served as an usher and was a member of the 9:30 Sunday School Class.
He was a lifelong member of American Legion, Morris Frock Post 42 and National Rifle Association.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine Ardelle Bowman Zahn; one daughter, Linda Z. Groo of Sterling, Va.; one sister, Kathleen Hershey of Hagerstown; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Rev. Leon Zahn and P. Carlton Zahn and one grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Robert C. Lehman will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
