Donald E. Davis Sr.
Donald E. Davis Sr., 66, of Hagerstown, died Sunday, April 18, 1999, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born Feb. 5, 1933, he was the son of the late Benjamin E. and Emma R. Davis.
He was employed by Mack Trucks for 12 years as a machine operator; and by Western Maryland Railway.
He served in the U.S. Air Force.
He was former president of the Goodwill Association; president of the Washington County Chapter of the NAACP; and was a member of Sunday Night Go-Getters; Washington County Independent Pool League; and Brothers Who Dare to Care.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Mary Davis; four daughters, Thelma Burnett, Diane Swann, Donna Davis and Phyllis Davis, all of Hagerstown; one son, Donald E. Davis Jr. of Hagerstown; three sisters, Phyllis J. Fowlkes of Jacksonville, N.C., Ruth Ann Monroe and Ilene Smith, both of Hagerstown; three brothers, Charles E. Davis and Melvin L. Davis, both of Hagerstown, and Gerald B. Davis of Landover Hills, Md.; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Elwood Davis.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from noon to 1 p.m. at Kings Apostle Holiness Church, 125 W. Bethel St., Hagerstown, where services will immediately follow. The Rev. Derek Kee will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Selma H. Taylor
BALTIMORE, Md. - Selma H. Weidenfeld Taylor, of Baltimore, died Monday, April 19, 1999.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. Harold N. Taylor; one daughter, Debra E. Taylor; two sons, Dr. Ronald J. Taylor and Dr. Richard L. Taylor; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, David Weidenfeld and Milton Weidenfeld.
Services will be held today at 11 a.m. at Sol Levinson & Bros., 8900 Reisterstown Road, Baltimore. Burial will be in Arlington Chizuk Amuno Cemetery, Baltimore.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 7 p.m. at 8016 Sunstone Circle (Fields of Stevenson), Baltimore.

Colleen F. Gallagher
Colleen Frances Gallagher, 65, of 13226 Clopper Road, Hagerstown, died Saturday, April 17, 1999, at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital, Rockville, Md.
Born Nov. 26, 1933, in Fredericksburg, Va., she was the daughter of the late B. Carlyle and M. Frances Carpenter Mills.
She was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Charles I. Gallagher; two daughters, Mary Susan Gray of Greencastle, Pa. and Laura Anne Dethloff of Rosehaven, Md.; one son, Matthew B. Gallagher of Laurel, Md.; one sister, Phyllis Ramberg of Hyattsville, Md.; one brother, Michael Mills of Spotsylvania, Va.; and three grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church, 1525 Oak Hill Ave., Hagerstown. The Rev. Andrew S. Mohl will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd., North, Hagerstown.

Victor L. McCoy
Victor Leo McCoy, 70, formerly of Resley Road, Hancock, died Saturday, April 17, 1999, at Colton Villa Nursing Home, Hagerstown.
Born Sept. 13, 1928, in Morgan County, W.Va., he was the son of the late Stanley B. and Mildred D. Ambrose McCoy.
He was retired from P.G.S., Corp. and U.S. Silica in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., as a bridge crane operator.
He was a member and past elder of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Hancock.
He was a member of Junior Order United American Mechanics Council 117, Berkeley Springs.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy L. Flowers McCoy, whom he married
in 1971; and one step-daughter, Lisa Ann Flowers of Hancock.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Viola McBee, Evelyn Michael and Phyllis Kerns and two brothers, Lewis McCoy and Bruce McCoy.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. The Rev. Timothy Davis will officiate. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 141 W. Main St., Hancock and Wednesday one hour prior to the service at the church.
A service will be held Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. by Junior Order United American Mechanics Council 117 of Berkeley Springs.

James H. Gregory
FREDERICK, Md. - James Hancock Gregory, 79, formerly of Myersville, Md., died Saturday, April 17, 1999, at Citizens Nursing Home, Frederick.
Born Jan. 26, 1920, in Charlottesville, Va., he was the son of the late Curry Wilmer and Mary Beverly Hancock Gregory.
He was a graduate of Frederick High School and he attended the Antonelli School of Photography, Philadelphia, Pa.
He was a local photographer for many years and was last employed by Farmers Cooperative, Frederick.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in World War II in the China-Burma-India Theater as a member of the 775th Engineers Petroleum Distribution Company.
He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Myersville.
He is survived by three sons, J. Marcus Gregory of Olney, Md., Michael Warren Gregory of Middletown, Md. and Jon Robert Gregory of Hagerstown; four grandchildren, two nieces and two nephews.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Helene C. Vona.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frederick. The Rev. David Howell will officiate.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Ricketts Funeral Home, 504 Main St., Myersville.

Richard A. Boyer
JEFFERSON, Md. - Richard Austin Boyer, 82, of 5727 Broad Run Road, Jefferson, died Saturday, April 17, 1999, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
Born Aug. 21, 1916, in Broad Run, Md., he was the son of the late Eldridge C. and Ella M. Biser Boyer.
He was a retired farmer.
He was a member of Jefferson Volunteer Fire Company.
He is survived by his wife, Louise Morrison Boyer; one daughter, Anna Mae Zecher of Jefferson; one son, Richard C. Boyer of Jefferson; one sister, Amelia Moser of Petersville, Md.; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Donald B. Thompson Funeral Home, 31 E. Main St., Middletown, Md. The Rev. David Bowman will officiate. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery, Jefferson.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. For the convenience of friends the funeral home will be open today from noon to 9 p.m.
