Lenora K. Lum
BOONSBORO - Lenora Kathleen Reeder Lum, 92, of Fahrney-Keedy Home and Village, died Tuesday, April 6, 1999, at the home.
Born Jan. 21, 1907, in Rohrersville, she was the daughter of the late William Clarence and Iola Gertrude Poffenberger Reeder.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Milo Lum, in 1990.
She was a retired employee of Beachley Furniture Co. in Hagerstown.
She was a member of Mount Nebo United Methodist Church and attended Fahrney-Keedy Chapel.
She was a member and past president of Washington County Homemakers and a member of Boonsboro Historical Society.
She is survived by two daughters, Janice L. Miller of Hobe Sound, Fla., and Kathleen V. Rudesill of Middletown, Md.; a son, Franklin D. Lum of Boonsboro; two sisters, Alice Jones of Boonsboro and Jean Heltibridle of Hagerstown; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, William Calvin Lum; a grandchild; and a great-grandchild.
Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Bast Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro. The Rev. Louis R. Emerick will officiate. Burial will be in Boonsboro Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. There will be no evening visitation or viewing.
Norman K. Snook
TAMPA, Fla. - Norman Keller "Bud" Snook, 81, of Carrollwood Care Center, and formerly of Land O' Lakes, Fla., died Saturday, March 27, 1999.
He was born May 20, 1917, in Halfway.
With his two brothers, he owned and operated Snook Bros. Poultry in Hagerstown until 1957. He and his wife established and operated Valley View Nursing Home in Middletown, Md. He moved to Land O' Lakes in 1967, where he bought Lake Padgett Mobile Home Village, which he operated until retiring in 1983.
He served in the Merchant Marine during World War II.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Lutz, Fla.
He was a past president of Middletown Lions Club.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jane H. Snook; a daughter, Judith K. Sebastian of Land O' Lakes; a sister, Floretta S. Coffman of Hagerstown; a brother, Harry C. Snook of Hagerstown; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Norman K. Snook Jr.
Burial was in Trinity Memorial Gardens in Odessa, Fla.

Mildred I. Line
BOONSBORO - Mildred Irene Koons Line, 91, of Reeders Memorial Home, and formerly of 24 S. Main St., Keedysville, died Monday, April 5, 1999, at the home.
Born Feb. 17, 1908, in Zullinger, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Valentine G. and Bertha G. Wishard Koons.
Her husband, George Line, died in 1962.
She retired from Routzahn's Department Store in Hagerstown.
She was a member of Mount Vernon United Methodist Church in Keedysville.
She is survived by a daughter, Gloria K. Kline of Boonsboro; two granddaughters, Debra Robertson of Hagerstown and Donna L. Fath of Boonsboro; a step granddaughter; three great-grandchildren; and a step great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by seven brothers, Harry, Clyde, Harper, Joseph, Paul, Frank and Robert Koons.
Graveside services will be Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at Fairview cemetery in Keedysville. The Rev. A. Paul Harne will officiate.
There will be no viewing or visitation.
Arrangements are by Bast Funeral Home, Boonsboro.
Junia A. Stevens
BOONSBORO - Junia Albert Eafrom "Junior" Stevens, 88, of 18540 Lappans Road, died Monday, April 5, 1999, at his home.
Born Sept. 10, 1910, in McCoy's Ferry, he was the son of the late Clarence William Cook and Mary Elizabeth Hornbaker Stevens.
His wife, Hester Viola Blair Stevens, died in 1995.
He was employed by Lonestar Cement for 40 years, retiring in 1975.
He was a member of Ringgold Church of Christ.
He was a member of AARP.
He is survived by four daughters, Beulah Koontz of Pasadena, Md., Darlene Deneen of Martinsburg, W.Va., and Goldie Exline and Doris Rodeheaver, both of Boonsboro; four sons, Merle Stevens of Galex, Va., Albert Stevens of Westminster, Md., E. Gene Stevens of Gaithersburg, Md., and Cloyd Stevens of Hagerstown; a stepson, Robert Sabine of Norfolk, Va.; a brother, Roy Stevens of Hagerstown; 30 grandchildren; and 37 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by five sisters, Olive Catherine Brehm, Nellie Dorsey, Mary Belle Forney, Bessie Alberta Blair and Pearl Elizabeth Rowland; a brother, Clarence William Earl Stevens; a half brother, Harry Hornbaker; and five grandchildren.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Ringgold Church of Christ, 14426 Barkdoll Road, Hagerstown. The Rev. Don Conley will officiate. Burial will be in Ringgold Church of Christ Cemetery, Ringgold.
The family will receive friends at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, today from 7 to 9 p.m.
Violet Mae Laird
Violet Mae Laird, 82, of 11010 Coffman Ave., Hagerstown, died Monday, April 5, 1999, at her home.
Born Feb. 21, 1917, in Altoona, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Russell William and Sadie Margaret Wilt Rhine.
Her husband, Leroy Alton Laird, died Feb. 10, 1999.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Wayside Baptist Church in Leitersburg.
She is survived by a daughter, Linda Guessford of Charlotte, N.C.; a son, Laurence Laird of Hagerstown; four sisters, Mildred Mitchell, Genevieve R. Pross, Ann Trenger and Loucille Bowers, all of Altoona; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Madeline Lockard; and a brother, Milton W. Rhine.
Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport. Pastor Keith Edwards will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown.
Friends may call today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, which will be open from noon.
John R. Crider
SHERIDAN, Wyo. - Dr. John R. Crider, 71, of Sheridan, died Friday, April 2, 1999, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Sheridan.
Born Oct. 3, 1927, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Dr. Wayne F. and Iva Mae Lehman Crider.
He graduated from Tabor Academy in Marion, Mass., in 1945; and from the National College of Chiropractic in Chicago in 1951.
He served in the U.S. Army for two years.
He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sheridan.
During the summers of 1968 through 1971, he ran a Saddle Horse Concession with his wife and children out of Bear Lodge in the Big Horn Mountains.
He was a member of the Wyoming Chiropractic Association; Sheridan Jaycees; Sheridan Horse Patrol; Sheridan WYO Rodeo; Wyotana Chariot Association; Toastmasters; and was active in All-American Indian Days. He served a three-year term on the Wyoming State Board of Chiropractic Examiners.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn F. Weber Crider, whom he married
Jan. 15, 1950; one daughter, Karen Ann Grimes of Jackson, Wyo.; four sons, Michael L. Crider, Kelly W. Crider, and Nelson M. Crider, all of Sheridan, Kyle W. Crider of Eugene, Ore.; one sister, Mary Jane Young of Pasadena, Calif.; one brother, Wayne S. Crider of Hagerstown; and 13 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, John A. Crider and Neal S. Crider.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sheridan. Pastor William Heine will officiate.
