Wilbur R. Eyler
Wilbur Ray "Bo" Eyler, 65, of 800 Medway Road, Hagerstown, died Thursday, April 1, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born June 13, 1933, in Security, Md., he was the son of Helen Elizabeth Strawsburg Eyler of Hagerstown, and the late Reno Park Eyler.
He was employed by Independent Cement Co., retiring in 1994.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He was a member of Faith Chapel.
He was a member of the National Rifle Association.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 43 years, Patricia A. Eyler; two daughters, Robin R. Crabb and Christina A. Eyler, both of Hagerstown; one son, David R. Eyler of Hagerstown; four sisters, Viola Ludwig of Lancaster, Pa., Vivian Wetzel of Hagerstown, Doris Obitts of Hagerstown and Linda Kline of Smithsburg; two brothers, Donald R. Eyler and Gary L. Eyler, both of Hagerstown; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown. Pastor Robert P. Ridenour will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 7 to 9 p.m.

James M. Peters Sr.
BRUNSWICK, Md. - James Montgomery Peters Sr., 76, of 1016 Peach Orchard Lane, died Wednesday, March 31, 1999, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born Feb. 24, 1923, in Manassas, Va., he was the son of the late Montgomery James and Christine Eliza Ball Peters.
He was a school bus driver and mechanic for the Prince William School Board for 20 years. He then worked for Hertz Rental Cars at Dulles Airport.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army.
He was a member of DAV and VFW Post 10421; and Old Friends Club, both of Brunswick.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Charlotte Corum Peters; two daughters, Shelia Gale Brooks of Brunswick and Regina E. Peters of Germantown, Md.; six sons, James M. Peters Jr. of Jefferson, Md., George G. Peters of Manassas, Marvin L. Peters of Frederick, Md., Charles L. Peters of Hagerstown, John W. Peters of Jefferson and Phillip A. Peters of Columbia, Md.; four sisters, Susan Crabtree of Bowling Green, Ky., Georgia Goodwin of Bethesda, Md., Minnie Hood of Upper Marlboro, Md., and Linda Paul of Greenbelt, Md.; a brother, Raymond Peters of Brunswick; and a nephew.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred Cole and Catherine Robinson; and two brothers, Lincoln Peters and David Peters.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Mount Zion A.M.E. Church at Knoxville, Md. The Revs. Earl King and Richard C. Dyson will officiate.
Graveside services will be Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. at Stonewall Memory Gardens, Manassas, Va.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at John T. Williams Funeral Home, 970 Petersville Road, Brunswick. The funeral home will be open Sunday from 9 a.m.

Allen S. Hazard
Allen S. Hazard, 74, of Hagerstown, and formerly of Moorefield, W.Va., died Friday, March 5, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Dec. 16, 1924, in Port Washington, N.Y., he was the son of the late Leroy and Elizabeth Allen Hazard.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Harriet Wentworth Hazard, in 1967; and by his second wife, Alfreda Martin Hazard, in 1995.
A U.S. Navy veteran, he was a medic for the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II.
He was a past member of American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He is survived by four daughters, Diana E. Allen of Wellsley, Mass., Lee-Anne Halterman of Hagerstown, Martha Stevens-Davis of Glendale, Ariz., and Katharine H. Fertig of Moorefield, W.Va.; a son, Thomas A. Hazard of Stephens City, Va.; an adopted daughter, Michelene D. Hazard of Winchester, Va.; a sister, Martha Lee Woodward of Woodbury, Conn.; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
A cremation memorial service will be held Saturday at 4:30 p.m. at Fraley Funeral Home, in Moorefield. The Rev. Bruce Macbeth will officiate. A committal service will follow at Olivet Cemetery, with military rites by Moorefield Combined Veteran's Honor Guard.

Homer E. Murray
Homer Ellwood Murray, 82, of 115 Catawba Place, Hagerstown, died Tuesday, March 30, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Jan. 6, 1917, in Mooresville, Md., he was the son of the late Rev. William F. and Bessie Miller Murray.
He was an income tax preparer, and was employed by Western Maryland Railway and Continental Can.
He is survived by his wife, Lucille E. Murray; one daughter, Charlotte Wagner of Baltimore; one son, Dennis E. Murray of Hagerstown; two sisters, Genevieve Jenkins of Pasadena, Md., and Connie Jenkins of Glen Burnie, Md.; four brothers, William Murray, James Murray, Edgar Murray and the Rev. Ben Murray, all of Hagerstown; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Lowell S. Murray.
A memorial service will be held Friday at 4 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Bennett G. Murray and Associate Darlene Murray will officiate.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m.

Vivian M. Roberts
LITTLE ORLEANS, Md. - Vivian M. Roberts, 71, of Boden Road, N.E., died Tuesday, March 30, 1999, at Memorial Hospital in Cumberland, Md.
Born May 20, 1927, in Piney Grove, Md., she was the daughter of the late John D. and Minnie B. Jerome Norris.
She attended Fletcher and Piney Grove schools.
She was formerly a waitress for Weaver's Restaurant in Hancock, and for H&D Restaurant in Cumberland. She was a seasonal fire spotter at Town Hill Fire Tower.
She was a member of Piney Plains United Methodist Church, and the Ladies Aid.
She was a member of Ladies Auxiliary of Webster B. Harrison Post 26 American Legion in Hancock.
She is survived by her husband, Howard L. Roberts, whom she married
Oct. 26, 1944; one daughter, Shirley Jean Grieves of Oldtown, Md.; one son, Garry L. Roberts of Little Orleans; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four sisters, Goldie Trail, Bessie Joy, Helen Smith and Edna Watson; and five brothers, Albert Norris, Allen Norris, Donald Norris, Albin Norris and Thomas Norris.
Services and burial will be at the convenience of the family.
There will be no visitation or viewing.

Colette W. James
SEVERNA PARK, Md. - Colette Wible James, 49, of Severna Park, died Tuesday, March 30, 1999, at her home.
Born July 18, 1949, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of Ethelyn June Wenker and the late Charles Frederick Wenker.
She formerly was employed for 21 years by Staff Builders of Baltimore; worked as a consultant to Courteous Services Inc. of Hagerstown; Mary Kraft and Associates of Towson, Md.; and was self-employed as a consultant to Creative Management Consultants.
She was a member of Saint Bernadette Roman Catholic Parish, and was a eucharistic minister.
She was a board member of the Greater Baltimore Chapter of the Association of Records Managers and Administrators; a former board member of American Heart Association; a former member of American Business Womens Association; a member of National Association of Temporary Staffing Services for whom she conducted workshops. She volunteered annually at the "Maryland You Are Beautiful" ceremony in Annapolis.
She is survived by her husband, Alfred S. James of Severna Park; four stepdaughters, Jennifer Carpenter, Jacqueline Slusher and JoAnne Ashworth, all of Hagerstown, and Jessica James of Hanover, Md.; two stepsons, Jon James of Sharpsburg and Jeffry James of Hanover; a brother, John Wenker of Baltimore; a sister, Geneva Hopper of Joppa, Md.; and 12 step grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a stepson, Roy M. Wible Jr.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday, April 10, at 10 a.m., at Saint Bernadette, 801 Stevenson Road, Severn, Md.
