Josephine J. Barnhill
FALLSTON, Md. - Josephine Jane Eccard Barnhill, of Fallston, died Monday, Feb. 22, 1999.
Born in Mount Lena, she was the daughter of the late Claude G. and Bernice S. Eccard.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry A. Barnhill.
She is survived by five sisters, Eleanora Eccard Poffenberger of Sharpsburg, Charlotte Eccard Kendall of Bel Air, Md., Erlene Eccard Fogus of White Sulphur Springs, W.Va., Geraldine Ruth Eccard of Baltimore, and Betty Eccard Davis of White Hall, Md.; one brother, Nathan Claude Eccard of Fayetteville, Pa.; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Ruth Eccard Price; and three brothers, Nona Eccard, David Eccard, and Robert Eccard.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Feb. 25, at Upper Cross Roads Baptist Church. Burial was in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Baltimore County.
Ruth E. Harbaugh
SHARPSBURG - Ruth Elizabeth Harbaugh, 84, of 207 South Hall, Sharpsburg, died Sunday, Feb. 28, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born June 27, 1914, in Sharpsburg, she was the daughter of the late William G. and Beulah M. Hammersla Dorsey.
She was a member of Christ's Reformed Church.
She was a member of Wacahu Grange.
She is survived by her husband, John Harbaugh; one sister, Ethel L. Baker of Sharpsburg; one brother, William E. Dorsey of Boonsboro, and nephews.
Funeral services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family. The Rev. Don R. Stevenson will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
The family requests the omission of flowers.

Charles C. McNamee
HANCOCK - Charles Calvin "Whitey" McNamee, 74, of 119 W. Main St., Hancock, died Monday, March 1, 1999, at Avalon Manor Nursing Home in Hagerstown.
Born Oct. 26, 1924, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Paul E. C. and Mary E. Mowen McNamee.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the Submarine Division of the U.S. Navy. He also served in the U.S. Coast Guard and U.S. Merchant Marine.
He is survived by eight sisters, Virginia E. Stonebraker of Huntsville, Ala., M. Lorraine Ebersole of Clear Spring, Thelma Oberholzer of Greencastle, Pa., Lois Helman of Maugansville, Janice McDaniel of Chambersburg, and Lillian L. Bartles, Elaine Lewis, and Patricia Michael, all of Hagerstown; and two brothers, Paul McNamee and Robert McNamee, both of Hagerstown.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, William McNamee and Samuel McNamee.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Broadfording Cemetery, Hagerstown.
There will be no viewing.

Briana P. Gossard
Briana Paige Gossard, 15, of 119 Dartmouth Drive, Hagerstown, died Sunday, Feb. 28, 1999, at Washington County Hospital of injuries incurred in an automobile accident.
Born Nov. 7, 1983, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of Theodore William and Tina Marie Litten Gossard.
She was a student at South Hagerstown High School.
She attended Rehoboth United Methodist Church, Williamsport.
She was a member of South Hagerstown High School class of 2001, Concert Choir and All-County Chorus.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her maternal grandparents, Charles and Marlene Litten of Williamsport; and maternal great-grandmother, Frances Litten of Williamsport.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, C.W. and Hazel Gossard.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Rehoboth United Methodist Church, 30 E. Salisbury St., Williamsport. The Rev. James E. Swecker will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport. The funeral home will be open Wednesday after 9 a.m.
Hager J. Hull
HANCOCK - Hager James Hull, 91, of Slabtown Road, died Sunday, Feb. 28, 1999, at his home.
Born July 16, 1907, he was the son of the late Samuel and Katie Dickerhoff Hull.
He was a self-employed farmer.
He was a member of Stone Bridge Church of the Brethren, Hancock.
He is survived by his wife, May Ray Hull, whom he married
in 1930; one son, Carl Hull of Hancock; one sister, Hazel Ray of Hancock; two half sisters, Helen McCarty of Hancock and Mary Johnson of Clear Spring; two half brothers, Paul Hull and William Hull, both of Hagerstown; five grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by five sisters; two brothers; and one great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Stone Bridge Church of the Brethren. The Rev. Harry E. Strite will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, Hancock, and on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the church. The funeral home will be open today from 2 p.m.
James T. Dresher Sr.
BEL AIR, Md. - James Thomas Dresher Sr., 79, of Bel Air, died Sunday, Feb. 28, 1999, at Glenangus Farms.
Born April 9, 1919, near Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late John and Agnes Johnston Dresher.
He was a graduate of Robert Morris College.
He began his business career as a member of a public accounting firm in 1943 and became a Pennsylvania CPA in 1947. He worked for The Glenn L. Martin Co. in Baltimore, Hiller Aircraft Corp. in Palo Alto, Calif.; Fairchild Engine and Airplane Co., subsequently Fairchild Industries; Swearingen Aircraft in San Antonio; American Industries in Delaware; Baker International Corp. and York International Corp.
He was active in McDonald's franchises in Harford and Baltimore counties, Md.
He was a director of National-Oilwell Inc., MassMutual High Yield Partners LLC; and on the Board of Visitors of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. He was a director of Boston-based Ardent Software; and was chairman and owner of Glenangus, a residential real estate development company in Harford County. He was founder and a trustee of The Dresher Foundation Inc., a private family foundation that makes gifts to educational, scientific, religious and community organizations.
He was the recipient of many awards, the most recent the Good Scout award.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Virginia Morgan Dresher; four children, Ginny Meoli, Jeanne Butcher, Jim Dresher and Jeff Dresher; a brother, Ronald J. Dresher of Pittsburgh; nine grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by two grandchildren.
Services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Christ Our King Presbyterian Church in Bel Air.
The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at McComas Funeral Home in Abingdon, Md.

Dorothy E. Smith
Dorothy Elizabeth Smith, 76, of 10825 Allen Ave., Hagerstown, died Monday, March 1, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born March 12, 1922, in Firth, Idaho, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred W. and Elva M. Lyon McCurdy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Thomas "Jim" Smith, in 1997.
She retired from the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in 1980, after 33 years.
A veteran of World War II, she served in the Women's Army Corps.
She is survived by a son, Kevin J. Smith of Baltimore; three sisters, Jeanne Meyer of Martinsburg, W.Va., Ruby M. Mickelsen of Ruppert, Idaho, and Wanda E. Walters of Idaho Falls, Idaho; and three grandsons.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Bardi J. Ebersole; and five brothers, Wilbert W. McCurdy, Wesley T. McCurdy, Milton J. McCurdy, Willie McCurdy and Merton L. McCurdy.
Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown. The Rev. Andrew J. Cooney will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown.
The family will receive friends today from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
