Raymond E. Foltz
Raymond Edward Foltz, 81, of 501 Claire Street, Hagerstown, died Sunday, March 7, 1999 at Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown.
Born Sept. 10, 1917 in Shenandoah, Va., he was the son of the late Ernest Newton and Mary Belle May Foltz.
He was retired from Chessie System Railroad in 1979 and prior to that he was employed with Western Maryland Railroad and Koppers Company, all of Hagerstown.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II and the European Theater.
He was of Brethren faith.
He was a member of AMVETS Post 10, Hagerstown, and a life member of W.D. Byron Post 1936 V.F.W., Hagerstown.
He is survived by his wife, Nora Lee Hensley Foltz; three daughters, Kathleen V. Gardiner of Hedgesville, W.Va., V. Kay Endorlo and Carolyn J. Knode, both of Hagerstown; three sons, Ernest W. Foltz of Falling Waters, W.Va., Ray F. Foltz of Halfway, and Paul E. Foltz of Maugansville; three sisters, Edith E. Thomas of Kearneysville, W.Va., Nellie F. Blankmore of Stanley, Va., and Eula May Wing of Arlington, Va.; two brothers, Harold D. Foltz of Buchanan, Va., and Ernest E. Foltz of Alexandria, Va.; 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Evelin V. Minnich and Hilda M. Ingram; and two brothers, Floyd A. Foltz, and Ralph L. Foltz.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Osborne Funeral Home in Albert L. Leaf Chapel, 425 S. Conococheague Street, Williamsport. The Rev. Paul E. Hawbaker will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Ruth B. Peck
BOONSBORO - Ruth Beatrice Peck, 85, formerly of 12 S. Walnut St., Hagerstown, died Friday, March 5, 1999, at Reeders Memorial Home, Boonsboro.
Born Oct. 5, 1913, in California, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Charles and Eunice Lehman Robinson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David E. Peck, who died in 1961,
She is survived by two daughters, Patricia L. Tunker of Stanford, Conn., and Mary E. Keller of Hagerstown; two sons, David L. Peck of Conyers, Ga., and William R. Peck of Friendswood, Tex.; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. William H. Freed, Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.
Addie V. Cornelius
Addie Viola Cornelius, 97, of 1304 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, and formerly of Largo, Fla.. and Ridgeley, W.Va., died Saturday, March 6, 1999. at Coffman Nursing Home, Hagerstown.
Born Feb. 14, 1902, in Pifer, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Sommers Hayes and Sarah Mackimey Watring.
She was preceded in death by her husband, W. Merle Cornelius Sr.
She was retired from Kelly-Springfield Tire Co., Cumberland, Md.
She was a member of New Street United Methodist Church, Shepherdstown, W.Va., and a former member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Ridgeley.
She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Sherman of Canada and Largo, Fla., and Ruth Orndorff of Largo; one son, W. Merle Cornelius Jr. of Hagerstown; one sister, Kathryn Shelton of Elkins, W.Va.; eight grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by eight brothers.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 3, 1999, at Calvary United Methodist Church, Ridgeley.
There will be no viewing or visitation.

Carolyn L. Hackler
MIDDLETOWN, Md. - Carolyn L. Hackler, 54, of 8600A Myersville Road, Middletown, died Saturday, March 6, 1999, at Frederick Memorial Hospital, Frederick.
Born July 15, 1944, in Johnson, Vt., she was the daughter of Joyce Gomo Collins of Warsaw, Va., and the late Richard L. Collins.
She was employed by Joe Ritenour as a legal secretary in Leesburg, Va., specializing in contracts and real estate transactions.
She was a member of Ladies Auxiliary of AMVETS Post 9, where she served on the Sunshine Committee.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, John S. Hackler; two daughters, Stacy Dimeck of Chesapeake, Va., and Suzanne M. Hackler of Middletown; one sister, Terri Thompson of Warsaw; two brothers, Gary Collins and Dale Collins, both of Nokesville, Va.; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Middletown. The Rev. Donald L. Turley will officiate. Burial will be private.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Donald B. Thompson Funeral Home, 31 East Main St., Middletown. Friends may also visit at the church from 10 a.m. to the time of the service.

Ellis A. Jones
CAPE CORAL, Fla. - Ellis A. Jones, 77, of Cape Coral, died Tuesday, March 2, 1999.
Born Oct. 29, 1921, in Graves County, Ky., he was the son of the late Clarence Pride and Lillian Jones.
He was employed by several major automotive corporations, retiring from Campbell, Wyantt, and Cannon Foundry of Muskeegan, Mich.
A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he served as a Chief Petty Officer on the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise during World War II.
He was active in Churches in Christ, serving in positions of responsibility in churches in Michigan, Maryland, Kentucky and Florida.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Belvaree McManus Jones of Cape Coral; three sons, Ronald E. Jones of Fort Myers, Fla., Steven D. Jones of Hazel Green, Ala., and Tommy M. Jones of Exton, Pa.; two sisters, Rachel Hammonds of Lovelaceville, Ky., and Martha Brindley of Mayfield, Ky.; four brothers, Wyley E. Jones, and John W. Jones, both of Roseville, Mich., Jack R. Jones of Lowes, Ky., and Robert T. Jones of Folsomdale, Ky.; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 20, at 10 a.m. at Cape Coral Church of Christ.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Hope Hospice organization in their area.
Weltie W. Wiles
Weltie Wesley Wiles, 83, formerly of 224 Summit Ave., Hagerstown, died Monday, March 8, 1999, at Colton Villa Nursing Center, Hagerstown.
Born April 2, 1915, in Frederick County, Md., he was the son of the late Raymond W. Wiles and Rosa E. Michael Wiles Tracy.
He was retired from the City of Hagerstown.
He is survived by one sister, Jennie Mae Kyler of Williamsport; one niece, Saundra Neff of Fairplay; and one nephew, Morris Stouffer of Hagerstown.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Carrie Strock.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Myersville, Md. The Rev. David Howell will officiate.
There will be no viewing.
