Steven C. Fulk
Steven Clark Fulk, 43, of Hagerstown, died Monday, March 8, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born March 25, 1955, in Berkeley County, W.Va., he was the son of Esther Dailey Fulk of Calvert County, Md., and the late James Fulk.
He was a 1973 graduate of South Hagerstown High School.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Cindi Fulk; a son, Stephen James Fulk of Hagerstown; a stepdaughter, Crystal Maners of Hagerstown; a brother, Bradley Fulk of Prince Frederick, Md.; a step grandchild; and a nephew.
Services will be Saturday at 3 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 2 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
Bernice M. Snare
WILLIAMSPORT - Bernice Mae Snare, 92, of 154 N. Artizan St., formerly of 2629 Virginia Ave., died Tuesday, March 9, 1999, at Williamsport Retirement Village.
Born Feb. 13, 1907, in Huntingdon County, Pa., she was the daughter of the late John Wesley and Grace Conrad Russell Dorman.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Irvin Snare, in 1977.
Until retirement, she was employed as an inspector for Holland Lavel Mill in Williamsport. She previously was employed by J.C. Blair of Huntingdon, Pa.
She was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Williamsport and attended Faith Chapel in Hagerstown.
She is survived by two brothers, James Dorman of McKeesport, Pa., and Ralph Dorman of Williamsport; one cousin; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Roy Dorman.
Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 37 W. Potomac St., Williamsport. The Rev. W. Gregory Martin will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Williamsport.
The family will receive friends Friday at noon at the church.

Nora W. Ballard
UNION BRIDGE, Md. - Nora "Jean" White Ballard, 69, of Copper Mine Road, died Tuesday, March 9, 1999, at her home.
Born Jan. 4, 1930, in Gadsden, Ala., she was the daughter of the late William Augustus and Mary Odessa Richards White.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Donald Ballard.
She was a homemaker.
She was member of Westminster Baptist Church, Westminster, Md.
She is survived by four daughters, Donna Escobar of Gaithersburg, Md., Cheri Langworthy of Sarasota, Fla., Deborah Mullen of Middletown and Melony Ballard of Hagerstown; a son, William D. Ballard II of Frederick, Md.; three sisters, Jeri Garrett of Arbutus, Md., Joan Sparenberg of Glen Burnie, Md., and Jackie Cline of Westminster; a brother, William Augustus White II of Fairfield, Pa.; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Jason Jarboe.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home, 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield, Md. The Rev. Larry Steen of Westminster Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park, Sykesville, Md.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Robert L. Beers
Robert L. Beers, 90, of 13815 Woodland Heights Drive, Hagerstown, died Tuesday, March 9, 1999, at Frederick Memorial Hospital, Frederick, Md.
Born Oct. 19, 1908, he was the son of the late Wayland L. and Elizabeth Beardsley Beers.
He was a 1930 graduate of Cornell University.
He was a retired employee of MCTC.
A Lt. J.G., he served in the U.S. Navy, during World War II.
He was a member of Unitarian Universalist Church.
He was a member of Morris Frock Post 42, American Legion.
He is survived by a daughter, Joan Dawson of Smithsburg; a stepdaughter, Jean C. Davis of Ferndale, Calif.; two sons, Robert L. Beers Jr. of Keymar, Md., and Barry L. Beers of Williamsburg, Va.; a brother, Howard W. Beers of Lexington, Ky.; 16 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two stepdaughters, Sara Stanley and Mollie Davis.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown. The Rev. Valerie T. Wills will officiate.

Bertha Holmes
Bertha Holmes, 92, formerly of 313 A. N. Jonathan St., died Wednesday, March 10, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born April 30, 1906, in Martinsburg, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late James and Elizabeth Holmes.
For many years, she was a cook for several hotels.
She is survived by a friend, Virginia Brown of Hagerstown.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, James W. Holmes and Edward Holmes.
Services will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown. The Rev. Gertrude Dixon will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
Margaret A. Bierley
FUNKSTOWN - Margaret A. Bierley, 94, formerly of 220 E. Chestnut St., died Tuesday, March 9, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Sept. 11, 1904, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Edward W. and Luella A. Moats Bierley.
She retired from Stanley Manufacturing in Chambersburg in 1971.
She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church.
She was a member of AARP; Woman of the Moose; Auxiliary of VFW Post 1599; and Red Feather Council 59, Williamsport.
She is survived by a brother, Charles E. Bierley of Evergreen, Colo.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Genevieve M. Bierley.
Services will be Friday at 7 p.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown. The Rev. Kenneth J. Dorsch will officiate.
Burial will be in Funkstown Cemetery.
