KATHERINE E. SUKOW
Katherine E. Sukow, 68, Oakland, died Sunday, May 28, 2000, at the Cuppett-Weeks Nursing Home, Oakland.
Born Jan. 28, 1932, in Deer Park, she was a daughter of the late Nestor N. and Mary K. (Kuykendall) Sukow. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, James K. Sukow and George N. Sukow, and one stepbrother, Harry Harvey.
She was a member of the White United Methodist Church, Oakland, and retired as a telephone operator in Denver, Colo. She was a member of the auxiliaries of Proctor Kildow Post 71, American Legion, Oakland; VFW Post 10077, Deer Park; and DAV Post 29, Oakland.
Survivors include one daughter, Tait Meldram, Black Mountain, N.C.; one sister, Clara E. Gauer, Oakland; and one brother, Boyd J. Sukow, Gulfport, Mich.
Friends were received at the Stewart Funeral Home, Oakland, where a service was conducted Wednesday, May 31, with the Rev. Neil Parsons officiating. Interment was in the White Church Cemetery.
The family suggests that memorials take the form of contributions to a charity of the donor's choice.
SONIA D. MILLER
Sonia Darlene Miller, 63, Winchester, Va., died Monday, May 30, 2000, at her home.
Born Dec. 4, 1936, in Mount Storm, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Charles and Delphie (Weese) Manks.
She was a computer programmer for ARB in Beltsville, retiring after 20 years of service. She was a member of the United Brethren Church, Bismark, W.Va.
Survivors include her husband, Rodney Leroy Miller, whom she married April 15, 1955, in Oakland; two sons, Rodney Lynn Miller, and Thomas Charles Miller, both of Winchester; and one sister, Lorell Noralene Brown, Keyser, W.Va.
Friends were received at the Omps Funeral Home, Winchester, where a service was conducted earlier today, June 1, with the Rev. William Erbach officiating. Interment was in the Gravel Springs Cemetery, Star Tannery, Va.

VIRGINIA HARDESTY
Virginia (Weeks) Hardesty, 86, Leesburg, Va., formerly of Mtn. Lake Park, died Sunday, May 28, 2000, in Leesburg.
Born July 16, 1913, in Thornton, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Hubert Melvin and Edith G. (Bailey) Weeks. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles J. "Dick" Hardesty, in 1983.
She taught school in Mtn. Lake Park and later taught at Brunswick High School. She was the chair of the business department at that school for 30 years. She and her family moved to Lovettsville, Va., in 1952. She was a member of New Jerusalem Lutheran Church, Lovettsville.
Survivors include two daughters, Sheryn Hardesty, Leesburg, and Charlene Lenchner, Commerce, Texas; one sister, Mary May Liston, Cresaptown; one brother, L.H. Weeks, Greensburg, Pa.; and one granddaughter.
Friends were received at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel, Leesburg, where a service was conducted Wednesday, May 31, with the Rev. Ray Michner officiating. Interment was in Union Cemetery, Lovettsville.

ARLIE E. HINEBAUGH
Arlie E. Hinebaugh, 76, Deer Park, died Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2002, at his home.
Born June 24, 1926, in Deer Park, he was a son of the late Robert W. and Minnie H. (King) Hinebaugh.
He retired as the supervisor of Deer Park Spring Water. A U. S. Army veteran of World War II, he was a life member of Proctor Kildow Post #71, American Legion, Oakland, and VFW Post #10077, Deer Park, and the Deer Park Sportsmen's Club. He was also a member of Oakland Lodge #2391, BPO Elks, and LOO Moose, Keyser, W.Va. He attended the Mountain Glade Day Center, Oakland.
He is survived by one sister, Alta Mroziewski, Baltimore; and two brothers, Claude Hinebaugh and Glenn Hinebaugh, both of Deer Park.
Friends will be received at the Stewart Funeral Home, Oakland, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 27. A service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Fr. John A. Grant officiating.
Interment will be in the Deer Park Cemetery.
Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by members of the various veterans' organizations in southern Garrett County.
AL O. ARNOLD
Al Odis Arnold, 84, Davis, W.Va., died Friday, Dec. 20, 2002, at Cortland Acres Nursing Home, Thomas, W.Va.
Born May 22, 1918, in Wilson, W.Va., he was a son of the late Isaac and Lula Mae Fike Arnold. He was also preceded in death by his wife Audrie, three brothers, and one sister.
He was retired from the coal mines. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Odd Fellows.
He is survived by one sister, Hazel Gatto, Thomas.
Friends were received at the Hinkle Funeral Home, Davis, where a service was held on Tuesday, Dec. 24, with the Rev. Allen Schwartz officiating.
Interment was in the Fairview Cemetery.
ALFRED R. SHOOP
Alfred Ray Shoop, 75, Thomas, W.Va., died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2002, at Cortland Acres Nursing Home, Thomas.
Born Sept. 10, 1927, in Magrand, Pa., he was a son of the late Raymond J. and Cleta Gertrude Geer Shoop. He was preceded in death by Mabel Macklem, one son, two sisters, and one grandchild.
He was a retired security guard at Timberline.
He is survived by four sons, two daughters, two brothers, 2 sisters, 16 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.
At his request, his remains were cremated.
Hinkle Funeral Home, Davis, W.Va., was in charge of arrangements.
MARGARET R. LYONS
Margaret Rose "Peggy" Lyons, 35, Keyser, W.Va., died Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2002, at her residence.
Born March 7, 1967, in Newark, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Stanley Gerald and Margaret (McCann) Mayne. She was also preceded in death by two brothers.
Surviving are two sons, Levi Lyons and Michael Gregory; one daughter, Tara Gregory; two brothers, Roy Daniel Willis Jr., Cresaptown, and Roger Allen Willis, Newark; and two sisters, Bonnie Sue Chapman, Chesterfield, Va., and Brenda Lou Willis, Cumberland.
Friends will be received at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home, Kitzmiller, on Friday, Dec. 27, from 7 to 9 p.m.
A service ill be conducted at the funeral home chapel on Saturday at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Sam Calhoun officiating.
Interment will be in the Kalbaugh Cemetery, Elk Garden, W.Va.

RENIX HAMILTON
Renix Hamilton, 86, Rawlings, formerly of McCoole, died Thursday, Dec. 19, 2002, at his residence.
Born Aug. 15, 1916, in Vindex, he was a son of the late Thomas and Agnes Elizabeth (Eversole) Hamilton. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Polly (Gordon) Hamilton, on Sept. 12, 1994; and by all of his brothers and sisters. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
He was a retired coal miner. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, member of Nancy Hanks Post 3518, VFW, Keyser, W.Va., and Local 616, Laborers International Union, Cumberland.
Surviving are two sons, Gary Dale Hamilton Sr., Westernport, and Terry Lee Hamilton, Rawlings, W.Va.; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Friends were received at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser, where a service was held on Saturday, Dec. 21, with the Rev. Joseph Eversole officiating.
Interment was in the Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.
DAVID E. GENTRY
David E. Gentry, 87, Ridgeley, W.Va., died Thursday, Dec. 19, 2002, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.
Born Sept. 25, 1915, in Mount Savage, he was a son of the late Bluford C. Gentry and Edna (Frankenberry) Gentry Witt. He was also preceded in death by four sisters, Margaret Evans, Jeannine Beeman, Helen Paul, and Dorothy Evans.
He was a retired carpenter with the Carl Belt Construction Company with more than 15 years of service. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, serving in the South Pacific. He was a member of Fort Ashby Post 6667, VFW, Fort Ashby, and attended the Bethel Tabernacle Assembly of God Church, Patterson Creek, W.Va. He was a member of the Mineral County Senior Citizens, the AARP, and the Carpenters Union, Cumberland.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Audrey E. (Parrish) Gentry; three sons, Jerry of Ridgeley, Darell of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., and David of Louisville, Ky.; one daughter, Sheila Housden, Albemarle, N.C.; one brother, George Witt, Houston, Texas; one sister, Leota Jenkins, Grantsville; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Friends were received at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, where a service was held on Monday, Dec. 23, with the Rev. Darrell Tichinel officiating.
Interment was in the Cabin Run Cemetery, Keyser. Graveside military honors were accorded.
