Bruno C. Jensen
Bruno Christian Jensen, 95, of 185 Summit Ave., Hagerstown, died Thursday, March 11, 1999, at Ravenwood Lutheran Village.
Born Dec. 5, 1903, in Bodilsker, Island of Bornholm, Denmark, he was the son of the late Hans Peter and Julia Maria Madsen Jensen.
He immigrated to the United States and came to Hagerstown in 1921.
He was employed by Moller Organ Works; and then serviced pipe organs until 1942. He then was employed by Fairchild Aircraft, retiring in 1969 after 23 years.
He and his wife owned and managed a rooming house on Summit Avenue for 45 years, retiring Jan. 1, 1997.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.
He was a member of B.P.O. Elks 378; U.A.W. retired workers 842; National AARP; and Golden Ballroom Dance Club.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Alice L. Jensen; a son, Kenneth Jensen of Ann Arbor, Mich.; two sisters, Ingeborg Jensen and Eva Larsen, both of Bornholm, Denmark; two grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda L. Jensen in 1987; six sisters and three brothers.
Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Edward H. Heim will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Fred R. Corso
LOS ANGELES - Fred R. Corso, 70, of Los Angeles, and formerly of Charles Town, W.Va., died Thursday, March 4, 1999, at Queen of Angels Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center, Los Angeles.
Born in 1928 in Charles Town, he was the son of the late Salvatore and Rosina Vizzi Corso.
He was a 1946 graduate of Charles Town High School.
He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in Los Angeles after 30 years.
He was of the Catholic faith.
He is survived by a daughter, Nanine Rosina Roca of Los Angeles; three sons, Fred Salvatore Corso, Alfred Paul Corso and Vincent Rudolf Corso, all of Los Angeles; three sisters, Lillian Migliaccio of Boca Raton, Fla., Ida Masdonati of Inwood, W.Va., and Linda Corso, of Integrated Health Services of West Virginia in Charles Town; two brothers, Dominick Corso of Davidsonville, Md., and Paul Corso of Inwood; five grandchildren; nieces and nephew.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Faust Corso.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated today at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Los Angeles.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at a later date at St. Leo's Catholic Church in Inwood. Father Brian Shoda will be celebrant.
Burial will be in Edge Hill Cemetery, Charles Town.
There will be no visitation.

Blanche P. Lillo
ROCKVILLE, Md. - Blanche Phebe Wolford Lillo, 97, of Rockville, died Saturday, March 6, 1999, at Rockville Nursing Home.
She was born Dec. 15, 1901, in Hagerstown.
She was a bookkeeper for the U.S. government.
She is survived by a son, Luis Lillo; and three grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Thursday, March 11, at 11 a.m. at Rockville Christian Church, 301 Adclare Road, Rockville.
Burial will be private.

Roy E. Semler Sr.
SHARPSBURG - Roy Elwood Semler Sr., 84, of 17350 Shepherdstown Pike, died Wednesday, March 10, 1999, at Ravenwood Nursing Home.
Born Sept. 7, 1914, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Harry H. Sr. and Ida Mae Shrader Semler.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Carella M. Taylor Semler, on May 30, 1998.
He retired from Pangborn Corp. after 41 years.
He was a member of United Church of Christ of Sharpsburg.
He was a member of Quarter Century Club.
He was a charter member of Sharpsburg Volunteer Fire Company; was a troop committeeman to Sharpsburg Boy Scouts; and a volunteer at Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg, W.Va.
He is survived by a daughter, Ruann R. Cramer of Hagerstown; two sons, Roy E. Semler Jr. of Sharpsburg and Richard A. Semler of Boonsboro; six sisters, Betty Butts of Halfway, Peggy Donegan of Hagerstown, Winifred Vickors of Sharpsburg, Hilda Baker of Hagerstown, Evelyne Clouser of Hagerstown and Nancy Cronise of Boonsboro; two brothers, Lloyd Semler of Halfway and Joseph Semler of Clear Spring; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Sarah Eby and Kate Williams; and two brothers, Harold Semler and Harry Semler Jr.
Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Beverly Lewis will officiate. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Sharpsburg.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Ralph E. Knott
LEXINGTON, Ind. - Ralph Eugene Knott, 82, of 5944 E. Stucker Road, and formerly of Chambersburg, Pa., died Saturday, March 6, 1999, at Clark Memorial Hospital, Jeffersonville, Ind.
Born Sept. 13, 1916, in Chambersburg, he was the son of the late Walter Knott.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn A. Ross Knott, in 1980.
He had been employed as a mechanic.
He served in the U.S. Army.
He was a member of American Legion Post 335 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1427, both of Lexington.
He is survived by four sisters, Janet Zeigler of Chambersburg, Araminta Wallech of Hagerstown, Anna Leidig of Arlington, Va., and Doreen Roub of Baltimore; and four brothers, Norman Knott and Paul Knott, both of Chambersburg, Glen Knott of York, Pa., and Charlie Knott of Huntsville, Ala.
A graveside service will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Chambersburg.

Robert L. Beers
Robert L. Beers, 90, of 13815 Woodland Heights Drive, Hagerstown, died Tuesday, March 9, 1999, at Frederick Memorial Hospital in Frederick.
Born Oct. 19, 1908, he was the son of the late Wayland L. and Elizabeth Beardsley Beers.
He graduated from Cornell University in 1930.
He retired from MCTC.
He was a lieutenant J.G., serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was a member of Unitarian Universalist Church.
He was a member of Morris Frock Post 42 American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, E. Lucille Beers; one daughter, Joan Dawson of Smithsburg; one stepdaughter, Jean C. Davis of Ferndale, Calif.; two sons, Robert L. Beers Jr. of Keymar, Md., and Barry L. Beers of Williamsburg, Va.; one brother, Howard W. Beers of Lexington, Ky.; 16 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter Sara Stanley, and a stepdaughter Mollie Davis.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown. The Rev. Valerie T. Wills will officiate.
