Floyd C. Mentzer
BRUNSWICK, Md. - Floyd Clarence Mentzer, 71, of 20 South Virginia Avenue, Brunswick, died Friday, March 12, 1999, at York Hospital, York, Pa.
Born May 12, 1927, in Burkittsville, Md., he was the son of the late Clarence Melvin and Mazie Long Mentzer.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Rutherford Mentzer, who died in 1994.
He was employed with Fitzgerald Auto Mall, Frederick, as a delivery parts man.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in World War II.
He was a member of Tri-State Church of God, Boonsboro.
He is survived by one daughter, Lisa Mentzer Smith of Brunswick; two sons, Ronald L. Mentzer of Gapland, Md., and Randy C. Mentzer of Brunswick; four sisters, Margaret Creek, of Cross Junction, Va., Betty Payne and Peggy Burns, both of Brunswick, and Darlene Carey of Gapland; two brothers, George Mentzer of Middletown, Md., and Robert Mentzer of Burkittsville; six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Elizabeth Castle and Grace Ramsburg; four brothers, Melvin Mentzer, Theodore Mentzer, Chester Mentzer and Charles Mentzer.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at John T. Williams Funeral Home, 100 Petersville Road, Brunswick. The Rev. Timothy Fisher and the Rev. James Caldwell will officiate. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Lovettsville, Va.
The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. For the convenience of friends the funeral home will be open today from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Aleisha D. Bagent
Aleisha Diane Bagent, 18, who resided with James W. and Marily J. Randall of 714 George Street, Hagerstown, died Friday, March 12, 1999, at Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Born March 8, 1981, in Gastoni, N.C., she was the daughter of William Joseph Bagent, Sr. of Hagerstown and Linda Sue Burke Bagent of Gastoni.
She attended North Hagerstown High School.
She was employed with J.C. Penney Company, Inc., of Hagerstown as a sales associate.
She attended the Salvation Army.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by one daughter, Mariah Elizebeth Randall, at home; one brother, William Joseph Bagent II of Gastoni; maternal grandparents, James W. and Mildred P. Burke of Gastoni; paternal grandmother, Mildred L. Day, Great Cacapon, W.Va., and the late Carl L. Bagent; great paternal great-grandmother, Gladys G. Kemp of Hagerstown; and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her fiance, Russell E. Randall of Hagerstown.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, 40 East Antietam Street, Hagerstown. Major Robert S. Henderson will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
William E. Nuckols
MT. AIRY, Md. - William Edwin "Fuzzy" Nuckols, 67, of Circle Drive, and formerly of Homestead, Fla., died Monday, March 15, 1999, at Frederick (Md.) Memorial Hospital.
Born Feb. 3, 1932, in Richmond, Va., he was the son of the late William Edwin Sr. and Jessie Estell Rose Nuckols.
Prior to retirement, he was owner/operator of a restaurant in Homestead.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
He was a member of American Legion, Williamsport and Rockville, Md., and Moose Lodge, Rockville.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 20 years, Nancy Forshey Nuckols; seven daughters, Sharon Cox of Martinsburg, W.Va., Cathy Harris and Teresa Gregory, both of Inwood, W.Va., Linda Taylor of Homestead, Susan Barnhouse and Deborah Parsons, both of Point of Rocks, Md., and Christine Hardesty; two sons, Alan Slifer of Virgina Beach, Va., and Robert Slifer of Lovetsville, Va.; one brother, Earl Warren Nuckols; 12 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and a nephew.
He was preceded in death by an infant son.
Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick. The Rev. Norman Kimmerer will officiate. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home and from 1 to 2 p.m. on Wednesday.

Jose M. Rosario
Jose M. Rosario, 61, of 110 East Ave., Hagerstown, died Saturday, March 13, 1999, at the University of Maryland Hospital, Baltimore.
Born Dec. 14, 1937, in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Juan and Celestina Rodriguez Rosario.
He was employed by M. V. Construction Co. of Gaithersburg, Md.
He attended St. Mary's Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Vivian Hopkins Rosario; one daughter, Amelia Rosario, at home; four sons, Johnny Rosario, Jose Rosario, and Antoina Rosario, all of Hagerstown, and Kevin Rosario of Phoenix, Ariz.; three sisters, Maria L. Martinez of Puerto Rico, Luzmario Rosario of Philadelphia, and Maria Estell Rosario of Newark, N.J.; five brothers, Rafael Rosario, Roberto Rosario, Pedro Rosario, and Carmelo Rosario, all of Newark, and Opiano Rosario of Hoboken, N.J.; and eight grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church. The Rev. George Limmer will be celebrant.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown, where prayers will be offered at 4:30 p.m.
Veronica J. Stotelmyer
SMITHSBURG - Veronica Jean Sier Stotelmyer, 45, of 12141 Itnyre Road, Smithsburg, died Sunday, March 14, 1999, at her home.
Born Oct. 29, 1953, in Frederick, Md., she was the daughter of Richard D. DeLauter of Myersville, Md., and the late Dolores A. Brown DeLauter.
She was a 1971 graduate of Middletown High School, Middletown, Md.
She was employed by First Data Merchant Services.
She bowled in several leagues and was a member of the Pro Bowling Tour. She was listed in the top 20 bowlers for several years.
In addition to her father, she is survived by her husband, Rick L. Stotelmyer, at home; one daughter, Nicole R. Sier of Smithsburg; two sons, Michael S. Shifler of Cascade, and Dustin W. Sier of Smithsburg; one stepson, Scott A. Stotelmyer of Hagerstown; two sisters, Deborah A. Kline and Irene M. Lewis, both of Myersville; two brothers, Anthony D. DeLauter and Harry J. DeLauter, both of Myersville; two grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1332 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown. The Revs. Allan F. Weatherholt Jr. and Steven L. McCarty will officiate.

Maudie L. Shank
Maudie Lee "Connie" Shank, 71, of 1400 Outer Drive, Hagerstown, died Sunday, March 14, 1999, at Washington County Hospital in Hagerstown.
Born June 30, 1927, in Cleveland, she was the daughter of the late Walter H. and Emma C. Triplett Conrad.
She was a former employee of Vitro Laboratories, Silver Spring, Md.
She was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church, and a former member of First Christian Church.
She was a member of Haven Road Senior Citizens Club and Pioneer Partner with Telephone Pioneers.
She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Ronald E. Shank; two sisters, Betty Ann Carroll of South Point, Ohio, and Emma Jane Cline of Williamsport; one brother, Berkley H. Conrad of Hagerstown; four nieces and seven nephews.
Graveside services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Beautiful View Cemetery, State Line, Pa. The Rev. Lauren Heather Lay will officiate.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1332 Eastern Blvd., Hagerstown.

Robert M. Bugosh
WILLIAMSPORT - Robert "Bob" Merritt Bugosh, 55, of 12021 Kemps Mill Road, died Sunday, March 14, 1999, at his home.
Born May 27, 1943, in Washington, D.C., he was the son of the late Emil and Helen Hreha Bugosh.
He was a graduate of Strayer College and the University of Baltimore.
He was employed as sales manager by WYII Radio for more than 21 years. He was a morning announcer for WJEJ Radio from 1969 to 1976.
He was a member of Berkeley County Isaak Walton League of America, Williamsport Redmen, Williamsport Moose and a former member of Williamsport Rotary Club.
He is survived by his wife Mary Ann Campbell Bugosh; and one son, Christopher M. Rummell of Elkridge, Md.
Services will be Thursday at 9 a.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown. Brian Leiter will officiate. Burial will be in Colombia Gardens in Arlington, Va.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
