Max R. Albertson
WILLIAMSPORT - Max Roy Albertson, 21, of 39 B W. Salisbury St., died Monday, March 15, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Oct. 28, 1977, in Red Bank, N.J., he was the son of Andrew Theodore Albertson Sr. of Hagerstown and Esther Ruth Luber Robinson of Hagerstown.
He was a 1996 graduate of Career Studies Center.
He was employed by Grove Manufacturing.
He was a member of Dual Lanes Always Late League.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his stepfather, Albert Robinson of Hagerstown; three sisters, Natalie Suzan Albertson of Williamsport and Karla Lynn Green and Ramona K. Albertson, both of Halfway; three brothers, Andrew Theodore Albertson Jr., Vincent Raymond Robinson and Dereck Robinson, all of Williamsport; a niece; aunts; uncles; and cousins.
Memorial services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Calvary Temple, 145 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport. The Rev. Robert V. Robinson will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
There will be no viewing.
Memorial donations may be made to the family, in care of Esther Robinson, 39A W. Salisbury St., Williamsport, MD 21795.

Stanley L. Kresal
FREDERICK, Md. - Stanley L. Kresal, 36, of Frederick, died Sunday, March 14, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
Born April 9, 1962, in Great Lakes, Ill., he was the son of Frederick E. and Donna B. Tener Kresal of Frederick.
He was a 1980 graduate of Smithsburg High School, Smithsburg.
He was a petty officer first class in the U.S. Navy, serving on active duty for more than 18 years. He served aboard the USS Independence, CV62; the USS Glover; FF108; and the USS Pensacola, LSD38. He was a veteran of the Gulf War.
He was serving as a naval recruiter, assigned to the Westminster, Md., office; and had been in Frederick and Washington counties in the same position.
He was commander of AMVETS Post 2, Frederick.
His military honors and awards include the Navy Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal, South West Asia Service Medal, the Liberation of Kuwait Medal - Kuwait and Saudi Arabia; and the Humanitarian Service Medal.
He was qualified with the Enlisted Surface Warfare rating, and was involved with the Lebanon crisis.
He was a member of Edwin Creeger Post 168 American Legion in Thurmont, Md.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Donald James Kresal of Falls Church, Va., and Frederick E. Kresal Jr. of Hagerstown; three daughters, Candice Kresal and Brittany Kresal, both of Manito, Ill., and Melissa Kresal of Kingsland, Ga.; paternal grandmother, Constance Wallschlaeger of Manitowoc, Wis.; aunts; uncles; cousins; and special friend, Therese Ayers of Frederick.
Services will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick. The Rev. William M. Bucher will officiate. Burial with naval honors will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Alice I. Crampton
SHARPSBURG - Alice Irene Crampton, 69, of 3641 Harpers Ferry Road, died Wednesday, March 17, 1999, at her home.
Born Oct. 15, 1929, in Antietam Furnace, she was the daughter of the late Otho James and Martha Irene Hutson Kretzer.
She was employed by Maryland Ribbon Co., retiring in 1992. Previously, she worked for Hagerstown Shoe Co. for 24 years.
She was a member of Antietam Church of God, Sharpsburg.
She was a member of AARP.
She is survived by her husband, Melvin Charles Crampton; two sons, Larry Richard Ecton of Sharpsburg and Barry Leon Miller of Hagerstown; four sisters, Dorothy Jones of Boonsboro, Geraldine Shank and Norma Guessford, both of Sharpsburg, and Deatta Giffin of Fair Play; two brothers, Otho E. A. Kretzer of Sharpsburg and Wayne Kretzer of Boonsboro; a grandson; and a great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, James Kretzer and Gardner Kretzer.
Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Antietam Church of God, Harpers Ferry Road, Sharpsburg. The Rev. Jan S. Wade will officiate. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Sharpsburg.
Friends may call today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport. The funeral home will be open today after 9 a.m.
Archie L. Shorter
CLEAR SPRING - Archie L. Shorter, 59, of 122 Cumberland St., died Wednesday, March 17, 1999, at his home.
Born Nov. 10, 1939, in Hinton, W.Va., he was the son of Durward and Marie Thomas Shorter of Baltimore.
He owned and operated Archie's Place in Clear Spring. He previously was employed by Raymond Metals in Baltimore.
He was a member of North Point Baptist Church in Baltimore.
He was a member of Potomac Fish & Game Club in Williamsport; Moose Club in Mercersburg, Pa.; and Williamsport Redmen 84.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Dorothy Wyand Shorter; two daughters, Sue Noland and Diane Brant, both of Clear Spring; two sons, Archie Shorter of Baltimore and Jerry Brant of Clear Spring; a sister, Mary Walker of Baltimore; a brother, Dale Shorter of Baltimore; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be Friday at 3 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Dan Keever will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Hagerstown.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
William L. Plume
William Lester "Gramps" Plume, 91, of Colton Villa Nursing Center, Hagerstown, and formerly of West Franklin Street and Walnut Towers, died Tuesday, March 16, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Feb. 17, 1908, in Elkton, Va., he was the son of the late Willy and Ida Florence Price Plume.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Grace Edna Stover Plume, in 1957.
He had been employed by the Western Maryland Railroad in Hagerstown; and retired after 26 years from D.A. Stickels & Son, Hagerstown.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was a member of Grace Brethren Church in Hagerstown.
He is survived by a daughter, Dixie Davis of Frederick, Md.; two sons, Thomas Grover Plume of Wellsboro, Pa., and Terry William Plume of Hagerstown; two sisters, Leona Elliott of Hagerstown and Marie Strasbaugh of Baltimore; seven grandchildren; six great-granddaughters; two great-great-granddaughters; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Arthur Ahalt, Allen Ahalt and Claude Plume.
Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Bast Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro. The Rev. Don Stevenson will officiate. Burial will be in Manor cemetery in Tilghmanton.

Frank Spinella
Frank Spinella, 75, of 18609 Preston Road, Hagerstown, died Tuesday, March 16, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Jan. 2, 1924, in New York City, he was the son of the late Michael and Sarah Spinella.
He was employed by Dix Hills Central School District, retiring in 1986.
He was of the Roman Catholic faith.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine V. Spinella; two sons, J. John Spinella of Cockeysville, Md., and Michael P. Spinella of Bergenfield, N.J.; and three grandchildren.
Memorial services will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown. The Rev. Edward Manalis will officiate.
The family will receive friends Friday at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home; and immediately following the service at Mrs. Spinella's home on Preston Road.
