Ralph L. Wolfe
Ralph L. Wolfe, 89, of 13311 Hunter Hill Drive, Hagerstown, died Thursday, March 18, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born in Adams County, Pa., he was the son of the late Clarence Eugene and Maude Irene Collins Wolfe.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mae Daniels Wolfe, in 1991.
He was employed by the Allison Division of General Motors, Indianapolis, Ind., retiring in 1970. He also worked 15 years for H & R Block.
He was a Methodist.
He was a member of Frank H. Marquis Lodge 690 F & AM, Mansfield, Ohio; Scottish Rite 32nd degree Mason, San Antonia, Texas; Zembo Shrine Temple AAONMS of Harrisburg, Pa.; Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1299, Carlisle, Pa.; Eagles Inc., Waynesboro, Pa.; Hagerstown Lodge 378 BPO Elks; and AARP.
He is survived by a niece, Hazel P. McKinney of Kettering, Ohio.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, 40 E. Antietam St., Hagerstown. The Rev. Louis L. Emerick will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
Lena V. Bowers
CLEAR SPRING - Lena V. Martin Bowers, 80, of 13408 Clear Spring Road, died Friday, March 19, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born July 24, 1918, in Big Pool, Md., she was the daughter of the late Lloyd W. and Lottie L. Hart Martin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Fred Bowers, in 1986.
She retired from Maryland Ribbon Co. of Hagerstown.
She was a member of Mount Calvary Church of God of Clear Spring, W.I.C.S. Ladies Auxiliary and AARP.
She is survived by two daughters, Betty Jo Kriner and Mary L. Kline, both of Clear Spring; a son, Frederick M. Bowers of Big Pool, Md.; four sisters, Anna Robinson and Julia Shoemaker, both of Williamsport, Helen "Dollie" Weaver and Edna "Kate" Michael, both of Big Pool; two brothers, Daniel "Dumps" Martin of Big Pool and Lloyd "Bud" Martin of Clear Spring; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Martin.
Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Donald Edwin Thompson Funeral Home, 13607 National Pike, Clear Spring. The Rev. Jonathan Laye and the Rev. Robert Timmons will officiate. Burial will be in Shanktown Cemetery, Big Pool.
The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Ida M. Wintermoyer
Ida M. Wintermoyer, 85, formerly of Hopewell Road, Hagerstown, died Saturday, March 20, 1999, at Homewood at Williamsport.
Born April 9, 1913, in Gaithersburg, Md., she was the daughter of the late Nathan C. and Grace Gaither Stiles.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Frederick Wintermoyer.
She graduated from Rockville High School.
She formerly farmed with her husband for many years on Hopewell Road.
She was previously a member with 4-H Allstars.
She was a member of Williamsport United Methodist Church and, in later years, attended Macedonia United Brethren Church, Greencastle, Pa.
She is survived by a daughter, Grace E. Litton of Clear Spring; three sons, John C. Wintermoyer of Williamsport, William F. Wintermoyer of Maugansville and Earl E. Wintermoyer of Hagerstown; two sisters, Adelaide Messer of Hagerstown and Catherine McCollam of Ohio; a brother, Stanley Stiles of Charles Town, W.Va.; 12 grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Dorothy Louthan, Anna Elliott and Edith Messer; and five brothers, John Stiles, George Stiles, Frank Stiles, Charles Stiles and Robert Stiles.
Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Gayle L. Ruble will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.
The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Eudena M. Pendley
FREDERICK, Md. - Eudena Marie "Dena" Pendley, 43, of Prospect Boulevard, Frederick, died Saturday, March 20, 1999, at her home following a long illness.
Born Aug. 9, 1955, in Youngstown, Ohio, she was the daughter of Nancy Hann Dye of Martinsburg, W.Va., and William L. Vanover Sr. of Huntsville, Tenn.
She was a 1973 graduate of Brunswick High School.
She was employed by HomeCall of Frederick as a computer processer. Prior to that she worked at Control Data as senior district secretary.
She was a member of South End Baptist Church, Frederick.
She was a team mom for Eagles Frederick Youth Football Team for more than seven years.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Alexis Pendley Sr., whom she married
in 1984; one daughter, Maria Spriull of Gaithersburg, Md.; four sons, Paul Foster of Frederick, Michael Foster of Camp Lejeune, N.C., Charles A. Pendley and Adam Pendley, both of Frederick; one sister, Ellie Best of Brunswick; one brother, William Vanover Jr. of Frederick; two half-sisters, Gail Vanover and Tammy Vanover, both of Huntsville; two half-brothers, David Vanover and Gary Vanover, both of Huntsville; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She is also remembered by her stepmother, Fran Vanover of Huntsville, and her stepfather, Lauren Dye of Martinsburg, W.Va.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at South End Baptist Church, 506 Carrollton Drive, Frederick. The Rev. J. Kenneth Stalls and the Rev. Jack A. Marcum will officiate. Burial will be in Brownsville Cemetery, Brownsville, Md.
The family will receive friends today and Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick.

Ellen M. Niemi
LEOMINSTER, Mass. - Ellen Mary Niemi, 77, a resident at Fairlawn Nursing Home, Leominster, and formerly of the Chambersburg and Fayetteville, Pa., areas for 50 years, died Friday, March 19, 1999, at the nursing home.
Born Aug. 10, 1921, in Fitchburg, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Otto and Martha Louvo Jokinen.
Her husband, Victor A. Niemi, whom she married
in 1946, died in 1990.
She was a 1939 graduate of Fitchburg High School and a 1943 graduate of Burbank Hospital School of Nursing, both in Fitchburg.
She retired in 1983 from South Mountain Restoration Center, South Mountain, Pa., as a registered nurse after 20 years.
She served in the Navy with the Nurse's Corps for three years.
She was of the Protestant faith.
She was a life member of Burbank Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association, Fitchburg, and while living in Pennsylvania, she had been active with the Pennsylvania Nurse's Association.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg. The Rev. David L. Keener will officiate. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery, Chambersburg.
There will be no viewing.
