Roger E. Tracy Sr.
WEIRSDALE, Fla. - Roger E. Tracy Sr., 73, of Marion County Road, Weirsdale, died Wednesday, March 24, 1999, at his home.
Born March 2, 1926, in Washington County, he was the son of the late George W. and Bessie F. Hose Tracy.
He retired in 1988 from Smith Transfer. He previously worked for Charlton Brothers.
He was a member of Teamsters Union Local 776 and F.O.E. Aerie 694.
He is survived by his wife, DaEtta H. Garvin Tracy; five daughters, Frances M. Tracy of Hagerstown, April D. Butler of Clear Spring, Dawn A. Woods of Deltona, Fla., Judy Shobe of Greencastle, Pa., and Cherie L. Shotts of Carlisle, Pa.; two sons, Roger E. Tracy Jr. and John L. Tracy, both of Hagerstown; one sister, Beulah Minnich of St. Augustine, Fla.; two brothers, Raymond S. Tracy and George C. Tracy, both of Hagerstown; 18 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Kauffman.
Services will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown. The Rev. Robert Verno will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Charlotte J. Hildebrand
WILLIAMSPORT - Charlotte Jeanette Hildebrand, 93, of 16505 Virginia Ave., Williamsport, died Friday, March 26, 1999, at Homewood at Williamsport.
Born Sept. 4, 1905, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Albertus and Emma Weller Ridenour.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph H. Hildebrand, in 1994.
She was a member of First Christian Church.
She was a member of Elks Auxiliary; and a volunteer with the local elections.
She is survived by one daughter, JoAnn Clingan of Martinsburg, W.Va.; one son, Gene H. Hildebrand of Phoenix; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren
Services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Willard F. Rahn will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Sylvester R. Easterday
BOONSBORO - Sylvester Reeder "John" Easterday, 93, of 141 S. Main St., Boonsboro, and formerly of Della Lane, died Saturday, March 27, 1999, at Reeders Memorial Home, Boonsboro.
Born Dec. 27, 1905 in Boonsboro, he was the son of the late Jacob Moses and Edna Florence Reeder Easterday.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice Virginia Jones Easterday, in 1978.
He was retired from Bester's Greenhouse in Hagerstown; was a former truck farmer; and had been employed by Bester and Long in Hagerstown.
He attended Tri-State Church of God in Boonsboro.
He is survived by one son, Richard Lee Easterday Sr. of Boonsboro; one sister, Mildred E. Martz of Boonsboro; one grandson, Richard Lee Easterday Jr. of Hagerstown; one great-granddaughter, one great-great-grandson; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Winifred Easterday and Lovetta E. Stottemyer; and two brothers, Robert J. F. Easterday and Granville T. Easterday.
Services will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel of Bast Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro. The Rev. James J. Caldwell will officiate. Burial will be in Boonsboro Cemetery.

Naomi K. Holter
FREDERICK, Md. - Naomi Kepler Holter, 98, formerly of 104 Fairview Ave., Frederick, died Saturday, March 27, 1999, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
Born Sept. 16, 1900 in Middletown, Md., she was the daughter of the late William J. and Lissie Summers Kepler.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward F. Holter, in 1978.
She was a graduate of Middletown High School; and attended Towson State Normal School.
She taught school for a number of years.
She was a member of Christ Reformed United Church of Christ, Middletown, Kings Daughters Sunday School class and Suzanna Wesley Class of Calvary United Methodist Church in Frederick.
She was a member of Middletown Valley Grange, Md. State Grange and had served as a delegate to the National Grange. She was a member of the Maryland Farm Bureau and was past president of Middletown Homemakers Club.
She was active in State Homemakers Club; and was past president an chariman of committees of County Homemakers; a member of Homewood Garden Club; AARP; Inner Wheel of Rotary Club in Frederick; Frederick Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, and Retired Teachers Association.
She is survived by three grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, and one great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Esther Holter Bossard and one grandson, Donald Bossard.
Graveside services will be held today at 11 a.m. at Reformed Cemetery, Middletown. The Rev. Mark A. Wakefield will officiate.
There will be no visitation.

Irma D. Grove
MAUGANSVILLE - Irma Dean Grove, 70, of 14028 Village Mill Drive, Maugansville, died Sunday, March 28, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Feb. 21, 1929, in Halfway, she was the daughter of the late Albert David Sr. and Minnie May Knight Powell.
She retired from Maryland Ribbon. She previously was employed by Grand Union.
She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Greensburg, Md.
She is survived by her husband, Gale K. Grove; three daughters, Brenda Smith of Boonsboro, Karen Duff of Hagerstown, and Kathy Hillman of Dunbar, Neb.; one son, Dennis Smallwood of Otoe, Neb.; two stepdaughters, Diane Miller of Smithsburg and Tina Keene of Kentucky; one stepson, Curtis Grove of Hagerstown; two sisters, Anna Reese of Smithsburg and Betty Alt of Flintstone, Md.; two brothers, Albert Powell Jr. of Hagerstown and Franklin D. Powell of Martinsburg, W.Va.; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Bruce Powell.
Services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Julie Brigham will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

George W. Cline
BOONSBORO - George William Cline, 83, of 132 Lakin Ave., Boonsboro, died Monday, March 29, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Dec. 4, 1915, in Keedysville, he was the son of the late Lemuel H. and Lillie V. Spielman Cline.
He retired as the owner and operator of George W. Cline Feed Service in Breathedsville. He was a representative for Martinsburg Granite Co. Inc. He formerly was employed by Pangborn Corp. and C.E. Routzahn.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served in World War II in the Philippines.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Boonsboro, was a former member of the Church Council, Sunday School superintendent and teacher, and choir member.
He was a former member of Boonsboro Town Council and Boonsboro Utilities Commission. He was a member of Hagerstown chapter of Mason-Dixon Barbershop Chorus; Clopper-Michael Post 10, Boonsboro; United Commercial Travelers; a charter member of Boonsboro Optimist Club; president of Boonsboro cemetery and Pleasant View cemetery in Rohrersville; and a member of the board of Fairview cemetery in Keedysville.
He is survived by his wife, J. Marjorie Clopper Cline, whom he married
in 1936; two daughters, Nancy J. Poffenberger of Houston, and Natalie J. Mose of Boonsboro; one sister, Rachael J. Wagner of Boonsboro; two brothers, R. James Cline of Wallingford, Pa., and Paul W. Cline of Hagerstown; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Betty Hoffman, Mary Ellis and Gladys Ausherman; and three brothers, Earl Cline, Grayson Cline and Carl Cline.
Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. Joseph I. Donovan III will officiate. Burial will be in Boonsboro cemetery at the convenience of the family.
