Anna E. Haupt
BOONSBORO - Anna Elizabeth Haupt, 90, a resident of Reeders Memorial Home and formerly of 24 Ford Ave., died Friday, Feb. 5, 1999, at the nursing home.
Born Sept. 28, 1908, in Boonsboro, she was the daughter of the late David L. and Temmie Greenawalt Griffith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wheeler Ira "Bill" Haupt, in 1994.
She was a homemaker and had been employed as a cook at Red Byrd Restaurant in Keedysville; Valley Restaurant in Boonsboro and Sam's Restaurant in Hagerstown.
She was a member of Tri-State Church of God.
She is survived by a sister, Martha Miller of Boonsboro; a brother, Harold Griffith of Boonsboro; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Elizabeth F. Aikens; two sisters, Angie Moats and Marie Hawks; four brothers, William Griffith, Richard Griffith, Luther Griffith and Woodrow Griffith; and a great-granddaughter.
Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Bast Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro. The Rev. James Caldwell will officiate. Burial will be in Boonsboro Cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 3 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.

Esta M. Troupe
Esta Mae Troupe, 91, of 11 W. Baltimore St., Hagerstown, died Friday, Feb. 5, 1999, at her home.
Born Aug. 5, 1907, in Gapland, Md., she was the daughter of the late Elmer Lee and Levenia Laura Boyer Gordon.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Troupe.
She was a member of Hagerstown Church of the Brethren.
She was a member of AARP.
She is survived by two daughters, Shirley Weaver of Williamsport and Jean Barnes of Hagerstown; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Jane Smith.
Services and burial will be at the convenience of the family at Rest Haven Cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown.

Thomas P. Maloney
HOLLYWOOD, Fla. - Thomas Patrick Maloney, 39, of Hollywood, and formerly of Bergenfield and Succasunna, N.J., died Thursday, Feb. 4, 1999 at Memorial Hospital, Hollywood.
Born Nov. 24, 1959 in Teaneck, NJ, he was the son of Robert J. Maloney and Joan Rouse Maloney of Fayetteville, Pa.
He was a graduate of Roxbury High School near Succasunna, and attended Morris County Community College, Randolph, N.J.
He was employed by the U.S. Army at Piccatinny Arsenal in Dover, N.J., prior to moving to Florida.
He was active in coaching Little League Baseball and CYO Basketball in Succasunna for many years.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by three sisters, Eileen Kozel; of Basking Ridge, N.J., Kathleen Picariello of Whippany, N.J., and Maureen Thomas of Bloomington, Ill.; one brother, Major Dennis Maloney, serving in the U.S. Air Force; and eight nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 12 North Broad St., Waynesboro, Pa. The Rev. Thomas J. Hemler will officiate. Burial will be private.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg. Recitation of the rosary will be Tuesday evening at 7 at the funeral home.

Catherine Z. Weller
WILLIAMSPORT - Catherine Zelda Weller, 84, a resident of Williamsport Retirement Village, Williamsport, and formerly of Sharpsburg Pike, Hagerstown, died Sunday, Feb. 7, 1999, at Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown.
Born March 26, 1914, in Mercersburg, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Bruce Edgar and Nancy Ellen Shives Weller.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall Weller, in 1985.
She was retired from E. J. Fennel, which was formerly L'Aiglon.
She was a member of Grace Brethren Church since 1958 and taught for many years in the Nursery Department and vacation Bible school.
She is survived by one sister, Betty Pine of Chambersburg, Pa.; and numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by four sisters, Freda Pittman, June Carbaugh, Margaret Shives and Ellen Weller and one half sister, Beatrice Divelbiss, two brothers, Edgar Weller and Bruce Weller; and one half brother, Virgil Shives.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Chaplain Josephine Benton will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul's Cemetery, Clear Spring.
The family will receive friends Tuesday one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
Mary A. Morningstar
Mary Agnes Morningstar, 93, of 14014 Marsh Pike, Hagerstown, formerly of Barnesville, Md., died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 1999, at Avalon Manor Nursing Home, Hagerstown.
She was born April 21, 1905, in Barnesville.
She began her career as a teacher in Comas, Md., and taught or was principal of schools in Montgomery County for 52 years.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Barnesville.
She was a member of National Education Association, Maryland State Teacher's Association; an Emeritus Life Member of Montgomery County Education Association, listed in World Book of Who's Who, and given many recognitions and awards, with the most prestigious being selected the most outstanding teacher in America in 1974. She received special recognition in appreciation for a successful teaching career from President Gerald Ford in 1975. She was the first woman mayor in Maryland when she became mayor of Barnesville.
She is survived by several cousins.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Catherine Morningstar.
Graveside services will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Monocacy Cemetery.
There will be no viewing.

Albert J. Gossard
WILLIAMSPORT - Albert James Gossard, 88, formerly of 109 East Chestnut Street, Hagerstown, died Sunday, Feb. 7, 1999, at Williamsport Nursing Home, Williamsport.
Born Feb. 20, 1910, in Charleton, Md., he was the son of the late David Albert and Lydia Grace Curfman Gossard.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen L. Gossard, who died in 1987.
He was a dairy farmer and building contractor.
He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Funkstown.
He was a member of Maryland Milk Producers Association and a former member of Elks Lodge 378.
He is survived by one daughter, Carole Parks of Middletown, Ohio; two sons, James B. Gossard Sr., of Hagerstown, and Terry Wayne Gossard of Funkstown; four sisters, Edith Gaylor, Mae Socks, and Mary Ruth Craig, all of Hagerstown, and Freida Wempe of Williamsport; three brothers, Joseph Gossard of Reisterstown, Md., Evers Gossard of Salisbury, Md., and Charles Gossard of Hagerstown; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his twin sister, Alice Lumm, sisters Ethel Bowman and NancySlifer; and two brothers, Robert Gossard and William Gossard.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Darrell C. Layman will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
