Dora M. Chilcoat
TIMONIUM, Md. - Dora Miles Chilcoat, 103, of Broadmead Retirement Center, and formerly of Sparks, Md., died of pneumonia Tuesday, Feb. 9, 1999, at the center.
Born in 1895 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Harry E. and Rosa Axer Miles.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Chilcoat, in 1956. They were married
in 1918.
She was a 1916 graduate of Sparks High School. She was the oldest member of Sparks-Hereford Alumni Association.
She was the oldest member of Bosley United Methodist Church.
She is survived by three daughters, Jane Hanna and Charlotte Hanna, both of Sparks, and Helen Crosby of Hagerstown; two sons, Charles Chilcoat Jr. of Lutherville, Md., and Harry Chilcoat of Stewartstown, Pa.; 16 grandchildren; and 36 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Martha Ellen Chilcoat; and a son, John Miles Chilcoat.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Bosley United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Lemmon Funeral Home, 10 W. Padonia Road, Timonium.

Walter R. Slade
Walter Randolph Slade, 68, of Hagerstown, died Sunday, Feb. 7, 1999, at his home.
Born Nov. 3, 1930, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late S. Chester and Catherine Wolfhope Slade.
He attended St. Francis Parochial School and graduated from Robert E. Lee High School, both in Staunton, Va.
He had worked at various radio stations in Virginia and North Carolina.
He served in the U.S. Air Force.
He is survived by a brother, Frank Slade of Marlboro, N.J.; three nieces, Elizabeth Porter and Mary Slade, both of Freehold, N.J., and Mary Catherine Fitzgerald of Stuarts Draft, Va.; a nephew, Edward Walsh of New York City; three grandnieces; a grandnephew; and an uncle.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Catherine Karalevicz; and a niece, Alison Burchett.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 12:05 p.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Staunton. The Rev. John A. Abe will be celebrant. Burial will follow in Thornrose Cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Henry Funeral Home.
Grace I. Newkirk
MAUGANSVILLE - Grace I. Newkirk, 88, formerly of 14024 Village Mill Drive, and El Passo, Ill., who died Monday, Feb. 8, 1999, is survived by a brother, John W. Hall of Hagerstown.
Services will be today at 1:30 p.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown. The Revs. Robert S. Barton and Darryl Zoller will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
Visitation will be today at 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

William E. Unger
CAVETOWN - William E. "Bill" Unger, 85, of Cavetown, died Tuesday, Feb. 9, 1999, at his home.
Born June 18, 1913, near Cavetown, he was the son of the late William E. and Sarah I. Hoover Unger.
He was employed by Fairchild Aircraft for 35 years, retiring in 1977.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army in Europe.
He was a member of Christ United Church of Cavetown, was a Sunday School teacher and secretary.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Alma P. Gift Unger; four sons, William E. Unger III and Dennis E. Unger, both of Smithsburg, Douglas L. Unger of Sevierville, Tenn., and Ernest C. Unger of Clear Spring; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a niece.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Samuel F. Unger.
Services will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg. The Rev. Ronald E. Kauffman will officiate. Burial will be in Smithsburg cemetery with military services by Morris Frock Post 42 American Legion, Hagerstown.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Cameron D. Warner
Cameron Drew Warner, infant son of Robert and Sharon Hendershot Warner, of Hagerstown, died Tuesday, Feb. 9, 1999, at University of Maryland Medical Center, Baltimore.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Garrett Warner and Dallin Warner, both at home; maternal grandparents, Sylvan and Trudy Foro Hendershot of Warfordsburg, Pa.; maternal great-grandmother, Katharina Foro of North Rose, N.Y.; paternal grandparents, Robert and Lana Payne Warner of Salt Lake City; paternal great-grandparents, Reed and Hazel Warner of Salt Lake City, and Russell and Cleone Payne of Bear Lake, Idaho; three aunts and two uncles.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Josef Foro.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Hancock. Bishop Gerald Hendershot will officiate. Burial will be in Buck Valley Memorial Cemetery, Warfordsburg.
Arrangements are by Grove Funeral Home, Hancock.
Mary M. Horine
ROHRERSVILLE, Md. - Mary Mae Stine Horine, 81, of 4547 Locust Grove Road, died Thursday, Feb. 11, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Oct. 30, 1917, in Rohrersville, she was the daughter of the late Charles B. and Addie F. Poffenberger Stine.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Mount Zion Lutheran Church at Locust Grove, Md.
She is survived by her husband, of 61 years, Glenn William Horine; a daughter, Glendora M. Horine of Falling Waters, W.Va.; and a sister, Mabel Fisher of Keedysville.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Eakle.
Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Bast Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro. The Rev. Blaine E. Feightner will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Zion cemetery at Locust Grove.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Norwood K. Winders
Norwood K. Winders, 76, of Cool Hollow Road, Hagerstown, died Thursday, Feb. 11, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born June 16, 1922, in Beaver Creek, he was the son of the late Hubert B. and Elsie Martz Winders.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Nora Needy Winders, in 1993.
He was an antiques dealer.
He is survived by his second wife, Virginia M. Shockey Winders; his twin sister, Virginia Mae Martin of Hagerstown; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Dale R. Winders.
Graveside services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Beaver Creek Cemetery. Pastor Charles Griffin will officiate.
