Robert B. Weaver
Robert Brondell Weaver, 76, of Hagerstown, died Monday, Jan. 25, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
He was born Sept. 18, 1922, in Frank, Pa.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna D. Weaver.
He was retired from M. P. Moller.
He was a member of Eagles; Moose; National Rifle Association; and VFW in Waynesboro and Greencastle, Pa.
He is survived by a daughter, Victoria Ann Spence of Clear Spring; two sons, Robert W. Weaver of Williamsport and Teddy R. Weaver Sr. of Hagerstown; a brother, Charles A. Weaver of Hagerstown; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. W. Gregory Martin will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Charles H. Jones
Charles Henry Jones, 68, of 645 Forest Drive, Hagerstown, died Saturday, Jan. 23, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Nov. 31, 1930, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late John and Theadosia Dorsey Jones.
He attended North Street School.
He retired as a truck driver for C. William Hetzer Inc.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He was a member of Sportsman Club 73.
He is survived by a daughter, Brenda Jones Aiken of Bristol, Conn.; a son, Charles Albert Jones of Nashville, Tenn.; a brother, Johnny Jones of Hagerstown; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a brother, George Brown.
Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Ebenezer African Methodist Church. The Rev. Leroy Jackson will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the church.

Irvin G. Allen
OLDTOWN, Md. - The Rev. Irvin Glenwood Allen, 85, of Oldtown, died Tuesday, Jan. 26, 1999, at Memorial Hospital in Cumberland, Md.
Born June 23, 1913, in Green Spring, W.Va., he was the son of the late Edward Joseph and Linnie Biser Allen.
He was a 1932 graduate of Romney High School; and a graduate of Chandler School of Theology at Emory University. He was ordained a deacon in 1959 and a full elder of the United Methodist Church in 1961. He was a retired minister for Bethel United Methodist Church in Cumberland.
He was a member of Oldtown United Methodist Church; and the Baltimore Conference of the United Methodist Church. He had served as a pastor in United Methodist Churches since 1954, serving Mount Fairview United Methodist Church on Irons Mountain, Prosperity United Methodist Church, Pleasant Valley Road, and Oakdale United Methodist Church in Pennsylvania.
He was a former employee of Celanese; and retired from Hercules, Inc. in December 1975.
He was a member of Royal Arch Chapter, Antioch Commandery 6, Knights Templar, and East Gate Lodge 216 AF & AM. He was a former member of Oldtown Volunteer Fire Department; member and past president of Oldtown PTA; and a charter member of Oldtown Sportsmen Club. He was on the Maryland Bicentennial Committee; and treasurer of the Maryland Historical Trust Committee.
He founded and owned the Michael Cresap Museum in Oldtown, and was instrumental in preserving the 1764 building.
A local historian, he was the author of the book "Historic Oldtown, Maryland" and wrote a local history column for the Cumberland Times News.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Virginia "Jenny" Haugh Allen; two daughters, Judith Allen O'Hara of Williamsport and Jilla D. Allen Smith of Washington, D.C.; a sister, Leona Croston of Romney, W.Va.; a brother, Millard Allen of Furnace Acres, W.Va.; a grandson; and four step grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Edgar Allen, Leroy Allen and Willard Allen.
Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland. The Rev. Charles W. Sisk will officiate. Burial will be in Oldtown United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. East Gate Lodge 216 will hold a memorial service at 7:30 p.m.
Betty J. Banzhoff
WILLIAMSPORT - Betty June Banzhoff, 77, of 11609 Cedar Ridge Road, died Monday, Jan. 25, 1999, at Williamsport Retirement Village, Williamsport.
Born May 3, 1921, in Williamsport, she was the daughter of the late Charles Frank and Beulah Catherine Hull Tabler.
She was a 1939 graduate of Williamsport High School.
She was employed as a seamstress for The Windmill Shop in Hagerstown until her retirement. She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Williamsport Church of God, and was a past Sunday school teacher.
She was a member of AARP.
She is survived by her husband, Robert V. "Sawyer" Banzhoff of Williamsport; two daughters, Joyce A. Lowery and Kathy K. Martin, both of Williamsport; a son, Charles K. Banzhoff of Williamsport; a sister, Ella Mae Fischer of Williamsport; a brother, Arnold C. Tabler of Longwood, Fla.; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. in the Albert L. Leaf Chapel of Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport. The Rev. D. Lloyd Abbott will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul's Church Cemetery, Clear Spring.
Friends may call today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, which will be open after 10 a.m.
Pauline C. Main
BOONSBORO - Pauline Catherine Main, 91, of 141 S. Main St., and formerly of 14046 Sharpsburg Pike, Hagerstown, died Tuesday, Jan. 26, 1999, at Reeders Memorial Home in Boonsboro.
Born Nov. 3, 1907, in Boonsboro, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Reeder and Maude Wilkinson Reeder Moser.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Kephart Main, in 1981.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of First Christian Church of Boonsboro.
She is survived by three sisters-in-law.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Geraldine Main.
A graveside service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in Boonsboro Cemetery. The Rev. Blaine E. Feightner will officiate.
There will be no viewing or visitation.
Arrangements are by Bast Funeral Home, Boonsboro.
George W. Wiles
ROSEMONT, Md. - George William Wiles, 77, of Rosemont, died Tuesday, Jan. 26, 1999, at Frederick Memorial Hospital in Frederick, Md.
Born Nov. 29, 1921, in Taylorstown, Va., he was the son of the late William Claude and Elsie Ellen Delaughter Wiles.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Isabelle Smith Wiles, in 1982.
He was a retired carman at the Washington Terminal at Washington, D.C.; and retired as a school bus driver after 17 years with Frederick County, Md.
He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church at Brunswick, Md.
He was a member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1582, and a life member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1136, both of Brunswick.
He is survived by a daughter, Betty J. Deneen of Brunswick; a son, Joseph W. Wiles of Rosemont; a sister, Helen Tomlinson of Sandy, Utah; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Russell "Pete" Green.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at John T. Williams Funeral Home, 100 Petersville Road, Brunswick. The Rev. Bruce Barth will officiate. Burial will be in Rocky Springs Cemetery, Frederick.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. The funeral home will be open Thursday from 9 a.m.
