Nancy E. Keckler
Nancy Ellen Keckler, 69, of 323 Linganore Avenue, Hagerstown, died Saturday, Jan. 23, 1999, at her home.
Born July 7, 1929, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Roy C. and Mabel K. Guthrie Barnhart.
She attended Hagerstown High School.
She retired in 1991 from JC Penny and was previously employed with J.J. Newberry's.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.
She was a lodge member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen and a volunteer at Coffman Nursing Home.
She is survived by her husband, Richard J. Keckler Sr., whom she married
in 1948; one daughter, Sondra K. Messner of Keedysville; three sons, Richard J. Keckler Jr., of Ogden, Utah; Donald L. Keckler of Media, Pa. and Charles E. Keckler of Hagerstown; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. She was the last of her immediate family.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Robert G. Barnhart, James E. Barnhart, Roy C. Barnhart and Donald W. Barnhart.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Robert S. Barton, the Rev. Darryl Zoller and the Rev. Charles Zitzman will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Marie V. Valentine
Marie V. Valentine, 78, formerly of 63 Broadway, Hagerstown, died Thursday, Jan. 21, 1999, at Colton Villa Nursing Center, Hagerstown.
Born Aug. 30, 1920, in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Charles E. and Belle M. Weber Dawson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Valentine, who died in 1996.
She retired from Fairchild Aircraft in 1982 after 37 years of service.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Lula Belle Robertson of Berkeley Springs, and Sandrith L. Ressler of Falling Waters, W.Va.; two stepdaughters, Sherry K. Valentine and Caroleen J. Ekberg, both of Hagerstown; a stepson, Stanley D. Valentine of Hagerstown; a stepsister, Ann Marie Richards of McConnellsburg, Pa.; four grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; seven step-grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her stepmother, Lola Henry Waugh Dawson, a sister, Frances Dawson; a brother, Charles E. Dawson, and a grandson.
Funeral services will be held today at 1:30 p.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac Street. The Rev. Edward H. Heim will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Williamsport.
Paul D. Myers
MURRELLS INLET, SC. - Paul D. Myers, 66, of Salters Cove, died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999, at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center, Myrtle Beach, S.C.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Hancock United Methodist Church.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the church.
Opal A. Davis
Opal Armeda Davis, 71, of HCR 80, Hagerstown, died Saturday, Jan. 23, 1999, at Western Maryland Hospital Center, Hagerstown.
Born Aug. 22, 1927, in Cumberland, Md., she was the daughter of the late Dorey Franklin and Blanche Ray Robinette.
She was retired from Londontown Manufacture, Hancock, as a seamstress.
She was a member of Buck Valley Christian Church, Buck Valley, Pa.
She is survived by three daughters, Geraldine R. Burton, Beverly A. Malott and Brenda L. Poole, all of Warfordsburg, Pa.; three sons, Arnold R. Davis of Warfordsburg, Kenneth T. Davis of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., and Ronald L. Davis of Reno, Nevada; six sisters, Lena Payne of Baker, W.Va., Esther Newton of Deridder, La., Velda Clanton, Eunice C. Robinette and Norma Robinette, all of Hagerstown, and Charlotte Clippinger of Needmore, Pa.; 16 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald L. Robinette and John Robinette; and one grandson.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Buck Valley Christian Church. The Rev. William Swope will officiate. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main St., Hancock and at the church one hour prior to the service.
For the convenience of friends the funeral home will be open on Tuesday from noon to 9 p.m.
Lester L. Reynolds, Jr.
BRUNSWICK, Md. - Lester L. "Leechel" Reynolds Jr., 56, of South Maryland Ave., Brunswick, died Saturday, Jan. 23, 1999, of cancer.
Born May 13, 1942, in Frederick County, he was the son of the late Lester L. and Marian L. Reynolds.
He was a 1962 graduate of Brunswick High School.
He was employed with B&O Railroad as a conductor and for CSX Transportation for 34 years.
He was a member of Grace Episcopal Church, Brunswick.
He was a member of Eagles Aerie 1136, Brunswick Moose Club, Sons of the American Legion, Brunswick Volunteer Ambulance and Rescue Company, a life member of Brunswick Volunteer Fire Department, past president of Lions Club of Brunswick, lifetime charter member of Round Hill Eagles Club, President of UTU, chairman of Annual Santa Train Committee, chairman of Annual Memorial Service honoring the crew and passengers of P-286 and chairman of the annual Needy Family Drive.
He is survived by his wife, Betty J. Reynolds; two daughters, Geri Lee Reynolds of Knoxville, Md., and Roberta Reynolds of Pennsylvania; a son, Kregg Reynolds of Knoxville; two stepsons, Richard Burracker and Timothy Burracker, both of West Virginia; three brothers, Clyde Reynolds of Sandy Hook, Md., James Reynolds and Charles Reynolds, both of Brunswick; three grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at Grace Episcopal Church, Brunswick. The Rev. Stephen A. Swift and the Rev. Thomas Staup will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mark's Cemetery, Petersville, Md.

Jerry L. Noll Sr.
KINGMAN, Ariz. - Jerry L. Noll Sr., 52, of 2024 Atlantic Ave., and formerly of Waynesboro, Pa., died Thursday, Jan. 21, 1999, at his home.
Born Dec. 25, 1946, in Waynesboro, he was the son of the late Raymond A. Noll Sr. and Betty J. Rowe Noll.
He was employed as a mechanic for Mack Trucks for 21 years. He worked at the Hagerstown location before being transferred to the Winnsboro, S.C., location in 1990. He retired on disability in July 1998.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He served 18 months in Vietnam. He then served in the U.S. Army Reserve. He was awarded the Purple Heart, National Service Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with one Bronze Star, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal.
He was a member of the Moose Lodge and the Eagles Club, both of Hagerstown.
He is survived by his wife, Jill S. Talhelm Noll, whom he married
May 29, 1970; two daughters, Jodi L. Noll of Hagerstown and Vivian J. Noll Daddona of Allentown, Pa.; a son, Jerry L. Noll Jr. of Kingman; a sister, Carol Ann Roberts of Waynesboro; six brothers, Raymond A. Noll Jr., Daniel W. Noll and Ralph E. Noll, all of Waynesboro, John I. Noll of Lemasters, Pa., David A. Noll of Mont Alto, Pa., and Paul J. Noll of Rouzerville, Pa.; a granddaughter; nieces and nephews.
Services will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. Pastor Roger K. Myers will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro. Military graveside services will be conducted by members of Charles M. Nitterhouse VFW Post 1599 Honor Guard of Chambersburg.

Dr. John McCleary Culler Jr.
FREDERICK, Md. - Dr. John McCleary Culler Jr., 82, a retired Frederick physician, of 116 Fairview Ave., died Friday, Jan. 22, 1999, at Vindobona Nursing Home, Braddock Heights.
Born March 16, 1916, in Frederick, he was the son of the late John M. and Mary Ada Biggs Culler Sr.
He was a 1934 graduate of Frederick High School; and a graduate of Western Maryland College, Westminster, Md. He then attended the University of Maryland Medical School and upon graduation, began his medical residency at Baltimore Church Home Hospital, prior to serving with the U.S. Army during World War II. He served as commander of a U.S. Army Hospital, in Seoul, Korea, until his discharge at the conclusion of the war. He then resumed his residency in Baltimore.
He returned to Frederick in 1949, and began his practice of general surgery and served for several terms as chief of staff of Frederick Memorial Hospital. He retired from the practice of medicine in 1986.
He held a membership in American College of Surgeons.
He was active within the Frederick community, serving as physician for Independent Hose Company 1, and also for other fire companies within the area. He served on the board of directors of Farmers and Mechanics National Bank; Frederick County Historical Society; and also served as staff physician of the former LoaTS Orphan Home, East Church Street, and Vindobona Nursing Home, Braddock Heights, Md.
He was a member in his youth of Frederick Presbyterian Church; and later a member of Grace United Church of Christ, where he served as a deacon and elder.
He was a member of John R. Webb Post VFW; Francis Scott Key Post 11 American Legion; and a patron of Rose Hill Manor.
He constructed models of the Clustered Spires of Frederick, which are presently being displayed in the Children's Museum at Rose Hill Manor.
He was well known in Frederick for his interest in HO Gauge model railroading and coin collecting.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ruth Harner Culler; two children, John M. Culler III of Lewis Center, Ohio, and Trish Culler Surber of Frederick; and four grandchildren.
Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. in Etchison Memorial Chapel of Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick. The Rev. Joseph R. Foster, pastor of Grace United Church of Christ, assisted by the Rev. Daniel E. Surber and the Rev. Roger Rollins, will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.
The family will receive friends today and Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
