Robert C. Hubbard
STRATFORD, N.J. - Robert C. Hubbard, 57, of Stratford and formerly of Martinsburg, W.Va., died Tuesday, Jan. 12, 1999, in Stratford.
Born April 12, 1941, in Detroit, he was the son of the late Floyd D. and Mary Ross Hubbard.
He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Cherry Hill, N.J.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Lillian Faircloth Hubbard; three daughters, Deborah L. Lightner of Martinsburg, Robin L. Barrick of Soperton, Ga., and Elizabeth R. Hubbard of Collingswood, N.J.; five sisters, Pat Weiss, Sandra Kenny and Donna Robinson, all of Lexington, Mich., Charlene LaBoissiere of Mustang, Okla., and Debbie Kolakovich of Port Sanalic, Mich.; two brothers, Gerry Hubbard of Barryton, Mich., and Duane Hubbard of Lexington, Mich.; and four grandchildren.
Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Shenandoah Bible Baptist Church. The Rev. Donald B. Smith will officiate. Entombment will be in Maranatha Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends Sunday one hour prior to the services at the church.
Local arrangements are by Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg.
Linda K. Kelley
Linda Keller Kelley, 50, of Hagerstown, and formerly of Doylestown, Ohio, and the Baltimore area, died Thursday, Jan. 14, 1999.
Born in Wadsworth, Ohio, she was the daughter of Robert and Helen Keller of Doylestown.
She was a graduate of Mount Union College, and received her master's degree in organ performance from Cleveland Institute of Music of Case Western Reserve University. She also studied at Peabody Conservatory of Music, Westminster Choir College, and with Margaret Budd at Second Presbyterian Church in Baltimore.
She was music director and organist at Hagerstown Church of the Brethren, where she directed the adult and handbell choirs. She also maintained a private studio of piano students. She taught for a number of years in Anne Arundel County public schools.
She was a colleague by examination of The American Guild of Organists, and dean of the Cumberland Valley Chapter. She also was a member of Choristers' Guild and The Hymn Society in the United States and Canada, and Hagerstown Choral Arts.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by one sister, Betty Conner of Big Prairie, Ohio; one nephew, one niece, and two great-nephews.
Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Doylestown United Methodist Church. David Tennant will officiate. Burial will be in Chestnut Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call at Zak-Monbarren Funeral Home, 132 N. Portage St., Doylestown, Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m., and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
There will be a memorial service in Hagerstown at a later date.

Margie S. Hammond
Margie Sidney Hammond, 91, of 3 W. Oak Ridge Drive, Hagerstown, died Friday, Jan. 15, 1999, at Williamsport Nursing Home, Williamsport.
Born Aug. 27, 1907, in Berkeley County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late John and Margie Hose Myers.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, William Hornbarger in 1959; and her second husband, Frank W. Hammond, in 1986.
She served with the U.S. Army.
She was employed with Dorbee Manufacturing for 15 years, retiring in 1963. Previously, she worked at Hagerstown Hosiery.
She was a member of Bethel Assembly of God.
She is survived by a stepdaughter, Rose Marie Gearhart of Hagerstown; four sisters, Virginia High of Marlowe, W.Va., Blanche Jenkins of Hagerstown, Lucretia Cook Fonte of Finksburg, Md. and Bessie Myers of Westminster, Md.; two step grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Bertha Myers, Edith P. Talbert and Viola Cook Dovi; and five brothers, Amos V. Myers, John C. Myers, Ernest S. Myers, Jacob Myers and Harry Cook.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Terry B. Broadwater and the Rev. Robert Revell will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery. Military services will be conducted at the graveside by members of American Legion Morris Frock Post 42.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Kathryn A. W. Oswald
CHEWSVILLE - Kathryn Allen Ward Oswald, 72, of 21332 Oswald Lane, formerly of Tampa and Dade City, Fla., died Thursday, Jan. 14, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born April 24, 1926, in Dade City, she was the daughter of the late James Sr. and Katie Priscilla Allen Ward.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Huyette Beck Oswald, in 1998.
She was a graduate of Pasco High School in Dade City and Tampa Business College in Tampa.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Tampa and attended Smithsburg Valley Baptist Church.
She was a member of Tampa Women's Club, Hagerstown Women's Club, Washington County Historical Society and Smithsburg Historical Society. She volunteered at Beaver Creek School House Museum and Vacation Bible School at Smithsburg Valley Baptist Church.
She and her late husband were members of Family Motor Coach Association and enjoyed touring the country in their motor home.
She was a life resident of Florida, but summered on the family farm in Chewsville. She lived on the family farm since May 1998.
She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Kathryn Oswald Knight of Smithsburg and Nancy Louise Oswald Fink of Tampa; one son, David Huyette Oswald of Chewsville; one brother, Wesley Knox Ward of Dade City; and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother, James A. Ward.
Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, in Hagerstown. The Rev. Donald Taylor and Pastor H. Allen Youngbar will officiate. Burial will be in Smithsburg Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Cathy A. Bowers
FREDERICK, Md. - Cathy Anne Bowers, 46, of 700 Tollhouse Road, died Thursday, Jan. 14, 1999, at Frederick Memorial Hospital, Frederick.
Born Oct. 30, 1952, in Waynesboro, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Jonah J. and Florence Ruth Tressler.
She was a member of Evangelical Bible Church, Thurmont, Md.
She is survived by her husband, Franklin H. Bowers; a daughter, Virginia Gardner of Greencastle, Pa.; a son, Dwayne Eugene Bowers of Greencastle; four sisters, Ruth Winfield of Myersville, Md., Debbie Stevens of New Castle, Del., Verna Trump of Hartley, Del., and Brenda Strain of North Carolina; four brothers, Donald Tressler of Greencastle, Thomas Tressler of Emmitsburg, Md., Roy McNelly of Florida and Henry Alters of Wilmington, Del.; three grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Vernon McNelly.
Memorial services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Friends Creek Church of God, Emmitsburg. The Rev. Wade Sandridge will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
There will be no viewing.

Charles L. Flook
KEEDYSVILLE - Charles Luther Flook, 82, of 19606 Dogstreet Road, and a resident of Reeders Memorial Home, Boonsboro, died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born March 3, 1916, in Keedysville, he was the son of the late Martin Luther and Cleo Pry Flook.
He was formerly employed by Potomac Edison Co. in Hagerstown and retired from Washington County Board of Education at the Keedysville school.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army in the Philippines.
He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, Keedysville.
He is survived by cousins.
Graveside services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Fairview cemetery in Keedysville. The Rev. Richard Clausen will officiate.
There will be no viewing or visitation.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
