William R. Cline
WILLIAMSPORT - William Ray "Tubb" Cline, 69, of 15600 Clear Spring Road, died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 1999, at his son's home in Mercersburg, Pa.
Born March 10, 1929, in Downsville, he was the son of the late Harry and Estella May Wolford Cline.
He was employed by Danzer Metal Works, retiring in 1994. He earlier worked at Pangborn Corporation and was a constable in Washington County.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He was a member of Lodge 1790 Loyal Order of the Moose, Mercersburg; VFW Post in Mercersburg; and Joseph C. Herbert Post 222 American Legion, Clear Spring.
He is survived by a daughter, Joni Cline of Hagerstown; three sons, Michael Ray Cline and David Lee Cline, both of Mercersburg, and William Curtis Cline of Williamsport; three sisters, Martha Jamison of Williamsport, Thelma Delauter of Downsville and Mary Stotler of Harrisburg, Pa.; three brothers, Harry L. Cline of Williamsport, Jesse Cline of Hagerstown and Charles Cline of Philadelphia; and 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Cline Sr.
Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. in the Albert L. Leaf Memorial Chapel of Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport. The Rev. Robert E. Timmons will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Williamsport, with military honors by Joseph C. Herbert American Legion Post, Clear Spring.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, which will be open after 9 a.m.

Lawrence C. Munson
HANCOCK - Lawrence C. Munson, 71, of Heavenly Acres Ridge, died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 1999, at his home.
Born May 29, 1927, near Hancock, he was the son of the late Theodore and Anna Mae Jackson Munson.
He retired from Kelly-Springfield Tire Co. in Cumberland, Md., where he was maintenance supervisor.
A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he served in World War II.
He was a member of the Supreme Council of the House of Jacob in Hagerstown.
He is survived by his wife, Reba E. Fletcher Munson, whom he married
in 1993; two daughters, Martha Ann Crumpton of Graniteville, S.C., and Diane Perrin of Flintstone, Md.; seven sons, Lawrence Andrew Munson and Jacob Mark Munson, both of Graniteville, Daniel Lee Munson and Steven L. Munson, both of Martinsburg, W.Va., Phillip Wayne Munson of Scalley, S.C., John Douglas Munson of Paw Paw, W.Va., and Jeffrey D. Munson of Cumberland; three stepdaughters, Diane Faith of Hancock, Carrie Jones of Aurora, Colo., and Linda Barnhart of Artemas, Pa.; three stepsons, Arkie Willey of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., and James G. Myers and Michael T. Myers, both of Hancock; two sisters, Doris Davis of Clearwater, Fla., and Joy Lee Peoples of Hagerstown; one brother, Joe Munson of Middletown, Md.; 28 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, David Munson.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Supreme Council of the House of Jacob, Berm Road, Hancock. Bishop K. Paul Bowers will officiate. Burial will be in Price-Wesleyan Cemetery, Price Road, Little Orleans, Md.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 141 W. Main St., in Hancock. The funeral home will be open from 2 to 9 p.m.

Ruth E. Moulden
MOUNT SAVAGE, Md. - Ruth E. Moulden, 73, of Mount Savage, and formerly of Frostburg, Md., Hagerstown and Frederick, Md., died Monday, Jan. 4, 1998, at her home.
Born Nov. 10, 1925 in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Grover and Annie Palmer Horine.
She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Paul Moulden, in 1967.
She had worked as a clerk at The Prichard Corporation.
She was a member of First English Baptist Church, Frostburg, and taught Sunday School.
She is survived by a daughter, Sue Leon of Bridgeport, W.Va.; three sons, Philip Moulden of Mount Savage, Robert Moulden of Boulder Creek, Calif., and Douglas Moulden of Cumberland, Md.; three sisters, Alice Scigliano of Myersville, Md., Janice Dodson of Martinsburg, W.Va. and Anna Huffman of Middletown, W.Va.; three brothers, John Horine and Paul Horine, both of Myersville, and Carroll Horine of Frederick; and 11 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Delores Horine.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Sowers Funeral Home, 60 W. Main St., Frostburg. The Rev. Oscar Ohler Sr. will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Cumberland.
The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Richard C. Sappington Sr.
BRADDOCK HEIGHTS, Md. - Richard Coale Sappington Sr., 82, of Braddock Heights, and formerly of Libertytown, Md., died Monday, Jan. 4, 1999, at Glade Valley Nursing and Rehabilitative Center in Walkersville, Md.
Born July 6, 1916, in Frederick County, he was the son of the late W. Gilmore and Madge G. Sappington Sappington.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Louise Sappington, in 1981.
He was a 1936 graduate of Georgetown University.
He had been employed at Key Chevrolet-Cadillac Sales, Inc., Frederick, for 28 years, and was treasurer, vice president and business manager. He was secretary and business manager of Key Motor Leasing, and secretary-treasurer of Cheatham Enterprises, Inc., both subsidiaries of Key, retiring in 1974.
He served in the Maryland Guard and the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Libertytown and was Eucharistic minister, president of Holy Name Society, activities chairman and head usher.
He was a member and charter president of Libertytown Volunteer Fire Co.; a member and past president of Libertytown Civic Association; member and past president of Libertytown-Unionville Lions Club; former president of Libertytown Athletic Association and Frederick-Carroll County Little League and Babe Ruth League; and assistant Scoutmaster of Libertytown Boy Scout Troop.
A volunteer with Hospice of Frederick County, he provided direct service to patients. founded the bereavement program, was a facilitator to the peer support group, worked in administration and fund raising and served on the Hospice Network of Maryland. He was president and chairman of the board of directors of Hospice of Frederick County.
In 1986, he was a founder and board member of Hospice Care in Gaithersburg, Md. In 1992, he was honored as outstanding hospice volunteer for the state of Maryland and was selected by the National Association of Home Care and Hospice for its Special Recognition Award.
He volunteered with the American Cancer Society.
He was selected as Frederick County's Most Beautiful Person and was recognized by then-Governor Schaeffer.
He is survived by two daughters, Madge S. Lamb of Libertytown, and Laura S. Brown-Holley of Hagerstown; two sons, Richard C. Sappington Jr. of Frederick and Robert E. Sappington of Laurel, Md.; Evelyn Boone Nash, whom he and his wife raised as their daughter; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 9201-A Church St., Libertytown. The Rev. John Dietzenbach and the Rev. Mike Misulia will be celebrants. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Hartzler Funeral Home, 11802 Liberty Road, Libertytown. A Christian Wake Service will be held Thursday at 3:45 p.m. and the Rosary will be recited at 8:45 p.m.

Clyde H. Beck
BALTIMORE - Clyde H. Beck, 54, of Baltimore, died Monday, Dec. 28, 1998, at his home.
Born Aug. 24, 1944, in Pocahontas, W.Va., he was the son of the late Garnet S. and Frances W. Beck.
He attended South Hagerstown High School, He graduated from Maryland Medical Secretarial School of Hagerstown Business College in 1965; and Temple School IBM Computer Concepts in 1966.
He owned and operated JKB Marketing in Baltimore.
He was of the Protestant faith.
He was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous at A.G.A.P.E. Group in Towson, Md.
He is survived by two sisters, Linda A. Rutherford of Boonsboro and Rebecca E. McGinley of Hagerstown; five nieces and nephews, Michael Dixon, Kelly Stottlemyer, Kyle Smith and Buck Rutherford, all of Hagerstown, and Damion Rutherford of Frostburg, Md.; great-nieces; great-nephews; and five cousins.
A memorial service will be Friday at Christ Lutheran Church, 216 N. Cleveland Ave., Hagerstown. The Rev. Shriver will officiate.
