ELIZABETH S. FOOTE

LONACONING - Elizabeth Stewart Wattenschaidt Foote, 84, of Charlestown Road, Lonaconing, died Friday, Nov. 14, 1997, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.

Born Nov. 6, 1913, in Lonaconing, she was a daughter of the late Julius Marx and Margaret (Jeffrey) Wattenschaidt. She also was preceded in death by her husband, George Foote, July 9, 1958; and two brothers, William and Earl Wattenschaidt. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Mrs. Foote was a former employee of the Celanese Fibers Corporation, a graduate of Central High School, Class of 1932, a member of the First United Methodist Church, Lonaconing, the United Methodist Women, and the Senior Citizens of Georges Creek.

Surviving are two sons, William G. Foote, Freemont, Calif., Robert M. Foote, Lonaconing; two daughters, Joann E. Willison, Frostburg, and Juanita L. Stoutamyer, Jefferson, Md.; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home, Lonaconing, on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Richard Mortimore officiating.

Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park.

Memorial donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church, Lonaconing.

EDGAR J. "SNOOK" FOOTEN

WESTERNPORT - Edgar Joseph "Snook" Footen, 84, of 431 Vine St., Westernport, died Saturday, Dec. 13, 1997, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.

Born Oct. 28, 1913, in Westernport, he was the son of the late Thomas and Elizabeth (Dunn) Footen.

Mr. Footen retired from the Westvaco Corp. with 25 years of service, having worked in the finishing room. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a life member of Victory Post 155, American Legion, and a member of the El Fidel Club. He was a member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, Westernport.

Surviving are his wife, Eleanor Lorraine (Dunk) Footen; one brother, Thomas Footen, McCoole; and one sister, Thelma Nichols, Westernport.

Friends will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Matthew Riegel officiating.

At Mr. Footen's request, he will be cremated. Interment will be in the Philos Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.

KEYSHA C. FOSTER

CUMBERLAND - Keysha Carol Foster, 17, of Jane Frazier Village, Cumberland, died Sunday, Aug. 3, 1997, at the Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown, as a result of an automobile accident.

Born Feb. 10, 1980, in Newark, N.J., she was the daughter of Patricia (Foster) Middleton, Cumberland, and Robert C.J. Martinez. She also was preceded in death by her maternal great-grandmother, Irene Powell.

Miss Foster was a Junior at Fort Hill High School. She was a member of the Maryland's Tomorrow Program, Who's Who of America and of the Ebenezer Baptist Church, Cumberland. She also worked for the Western Maryland Consortium for four years.

Surviving besides her parents are her stepfather, Renaldo E. Middleton, Cumberland; one brother, Johnathan Foster, Cumberland, formerly of N.J.; two sisters, Robin Foster, Cumberland, formerly of N.J., and RaShanna Middleton, Cumberland; maternal grandparents, Carolyn Foster and Claude Foster, N.J.; one aunt, Lynda Martin, Cumberland; one uncle, Shawn Foster, Hawaii; and a host of family and friends.

Friends will be received at the Ebenezer Baptist Church, Cumberland Street, on Wednesday form 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the church on Thursday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. John B. McIntyre officiating.

Interment will be in Oxen Hill, Md.

Leasure-Stein Funeral Home, Cumberland, is in charge of arrangements.

RUTH R. FOSTER

MOOREFIELD, W.Va. - Ruth R. Foster, 78, of Second Lane, Moorefield, and Bayard, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 22, 1997, at the Grant Memorial Hospital, Petersburg.

Born April 4, 1919, in Dobbin, she was the daughter of the late Harry E. and Virgie A. (Knotts) Poling. She also was preceded in death by her second husband, Dr. Joseph Foster, in 1995.

Mrs. Foster was the owner/operator of Ruth's General Store, Bayard, since 1975, and was a member of the Fairview Church of the Brethren, Oakland, Md.

Surviving are three daughters, Nancy L. Dixon and husband Bill, Baltimore, Sandra L. Denton and husband Les, Oakland, and Sue E. Jamison and husband Perry, Rawlings, Md.; three sons, James A. Dunithan and wife Jeannie, Purgitsville, Richard L. Dunithan and wife Betty, Olympia, Wash., and Harry D. Dunithan and wife Shiela, Chester, Va.; two half sisters, Bertie Barkley, Flemington, and Sylvia Beeghly, Oakland; three half brothers, Garrett Davy, Walter Davy and Albert Davy, all of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; 18 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Friends were received at the Stewart Funeral Home, Oakland.

Services will be held at the Bayard United Methodist Church on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. David Moon, the Rev. Shelba Sisler and the Rev. Ray Rodeheaver officiating.

Friends may call the church one hour prior to services.

Interment will be in the Bayard Cemetery.

GOLDIE J. FOUT

AUGUSTA, W.Va. - Goldie Jane Fout, 80, of Augusta, W.Va., died Wednesday, Nov. 5, 1997, at her residence.

Born Sept. 9, 1917, in Kline, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Robert Lee Miller and Minnie Anderson (Heavener) Miller. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse J. Fout, on June 21, 1997; one daughter; one son; one grandson; four brothers; and three sisters.

Mrs. Fout was a homemaker. She was a member of the Augusta Assembly of God Church. She was a person who did many acts of kindness and community deeds.

Surviving are one daughter, Ernestine Fout, Augusta; two sons, William "Bill" Fout and Jackie Fout, both of Augusta; nine grandchildren; eight great-granddaughters; three great-grandsons; and many foster children.

Friends will be received at the McKee Funeral Home, Augusta, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be held at the Augusta Assembly of God Church on Friday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Irving Howard, Pastor Kenneth Phares, and Robert Jeffreys officiating.

Interment will be in Lahmansville Cemetery, Lahmansville.

Pallbearers will be grandsons.

STEVEN L. FOX

NEW CREEK, W.Va. - Steven Lee Fox, 18, of Cut-Off Road, New Creek, died Thursday, Oct. 30, 1997, at Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser, as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Born Jan. 27, 1979, in Winchester, Va., he was a son of Ronald A. Fox, Winchester, Va., and Deborah Sue (Metcalfe) Kuhn, of New Creek. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Russell Metcalfe, formerly of Piedmont.

Steven was a member of the Class of 1996 at Keyser High School and was employed as a mechanic with CCI Inc. He was a member of the Westernport Church of the Brethren and was an avid sportsman and outdoorsman.

In addition to his parents, surviving are his stepfather, Stephen B. Kuhn, New Creek; his stepmother, Kimberly D. Fox, Winchester, Va.; two brothers, Ron A. Fox, Fort Campbell, Ken., and David P. Fox, at home; one stepbrother, Justin R. Bayliss, Winchester, Va.; one stepsister, Ashley L. Kuhn, at home; maternal grandmother, Elizabeth Metcalfe, Piedmont; and paternal grandparents, Edgar A. and Audrey G. Fox, Westernport, Md.

Friends will be received at the Rotruck-Smith Funeral Home, Keyser, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Westernport Church of the Brethren on Monday at 2 p.m. with Pastor Ervin Huston officiating. The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to the service.

Interment will be in Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Steven Lee Fox Memorial Fund, c/o F&M Bank, 87 North Main St., Keyser, WV 26726.

PAUL P. FRANCIOSI

CUMBERLAND - Paul P. Franciosi, 69, of Cumberland, died Thursday, Nov. 27, 1997, at Sacred Heart Hospital.

Born Nov. 13, 1928, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Silvio and Adelina (Carpenti) Franciosi. He also was preceded in death by one brother, Norbert Franciosi; and one sister, Katherine Franciosi.

Mr. Franciosi was retired from the CSX Railroad, Cumberland. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Railroad Retirees Club.

Surviving are his wife, Margaret H. (Mantheiy) Franciosi; one daughter, Angela Marie Franciosi, Cumberland; two sons, Mark A. Franciosi, Cumberland, and Robert E. Franciosi and wife Bonnie, Altoona, Pa.; three brothers, Anthony Franciosi and wife Doris, Thomas Franciosi and wife Wilma, all of Cumberland, Valentine Franciosi and wife Marie, Orlando, Fla.; one sister, Grace Scaletta, Cumberland; one granddaughter, Heather A. Franciosi, Cumberland; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church on Monday at 9:30 a.m. with Father Milton A. Hipsley as celebrant.

Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.

A Christian wake service will be conducted at the funeral home on Sunday at 3 p.m.

The family requests contributions be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church.

LOLA M. FRANCIS

KEYSER, W.Va. - Lola M. Francis, 88, of 12 N. Main St., Keyser, died Wednesday, June 4, 1997, at Heartland of Keyser Nursing Home.

Born Feb. 14, 1909, in Barton, Md., she was the daughter of the late Perry Phillips and the late Mary Ellen (Brooks) Phillips. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Francis, in 1954; a granddaughter, Karen Bush; one brother, Aubrey Phillips; and two sisters, Alma Francis and Olive Morrison.

Mrs. Francis was a homemaker. She formerly worked at West Virginia Pulp and Paper. She was a member of Assumption Catholic Church, Keyser.

Surviving are one son, Jerry Francis and wife Martha, Keyser; three daughters, Betty Simpson, Keyser, Rosemary Tichnell and husband Willard, and Cindy Leatherman and husband Norman, all of New Creek; two sisters, Sylvia Wilt, New Jersey, and Helen Fout, Harrisonburg, Va.; grandchildren, Donald Francis, David Francis, Jerry Simpson, Kim Simpson, Sharon Simpson, Jody Leatherman, and Jamie Leatherman; and great-grandchildren, Ashley Kuhn, Becky Francis, Jeremy Simpson, and Bryan Simpson.

Friends will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Thursday from 7 to 9 and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

The Rosary will be recited at the funeral home on Friday at 7 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Assumption Catholic Church, Keyser, on Saturday at 10 a.m. with Father Ivan Lebar, TOR, as celebrant.

Interment will be in St. Peters Cemetery, Westernport.

HILDA V. FRANKENBERRY

CUMBERLAND - Hilda Virginia Frankenberry, 74, of Cumberland, died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 1997, at Cumberland Nursing Home.

Born July 19, 1923, in Cresaptown, she was a daughter of the late Christopher Milton Snyder and the late Hilda Juanita Lea Faye (Hershberger) Snyder.

Mrs. Frankenberry was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.

Surviving are one son, Ronald C. Frankenberry, Forest Hill; two daughters, Lynda K. Pfeffer and husband Richard, Forest Hill, and Carla S. Shober and husband Richard, Jr., Cumberland; two sisters, Wilma Snyder, Cresaptown, and Ruth Ann Babcock and husband Rev. Theron, Cresaptown; three grandchildren, Pamela Brink, Baltimore, Cynthia Pfeffer, Forest Hill, and Sheila Pfeffer, Forest Hill.

Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Ken Korns officiating.

Interment will be in Bethel Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be James Ricewick Sr., Robert Stevenson, Calvin Jones, Robert Crump, Richard Shober Sr., Gilbert Frankenberry, and James Ricewick Jr.

JOHN A. FRANKLIN

KEYSER, W.Va. - John Albert Franklin, 88, of 42 Maryland St., Keyser, died Saturday, Sept. 6, 1997, in Hagerstown, Md.

Born April 21, 1909, in Henry, he was a son of the late Francesco and Marie (Carbacio) Antonetto.

Mr. Franklin was a retired employee of the Celanese Amcelle Corporation, Cumberland, and a salesman for Ludwick's Chevrolet Garage, Keyser. He was a graduate of Keyser High School where he was a founding member of the Keyser High School Band. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving in the Aleutian Islands during the Alaskan Campaign from 1944 to 1946.

He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Keyser; Boyce-Houser Post No. 41 American Legion, Keyser, Nancy Hanks Post No. 3518 VFW, Keyser, Loyal Order of Moose No. 662, Keyser, Sons of Italy, Piedmont, and the Democratic Party.

Surviving are his wife, Naomi (Wilt) Franklin; one son, Chris Franklin, Keyser and Hagerstown; one brother, Joseph Antonett, Headsville; one sister, Lorraine Dawson, Baltimore; two grandchildren, Angela Franklin, Morgantown, and Jay Franklin, Keyser; three nephews, Ronald Franklin, York, Pa., Capt. W.P. Franklin, Keyser, and Donald Franklin, Sarasota, Fla.; three nieces, Pamela Ann Wharton, LaVale, Md., Shirley Dawson, Baltimore, and Beverly Thorn, Keyser; and special friend, Tudor.

Friends will be received at the Rotruck-Smith Funeral Home, Keyser, on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home chapel on Wednesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Donald D. Coleman officiating.

Interment will be in Queens Point Cemetery, Keyser.

Military honors will be accorded at the graveside.
