HAZEL S. FAY
SALISBURY, Pa. - Hazel S. Fay, 79, of 162 Ord St., Salisbury, died Friday, April 19, 1997, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, Md.
Born Oct. 28, 1917, near Salisbury, she was a daughter of the late Karl D. and Margaret (Hotchkiss) Swartzwelder. She also was preceded in death by two brothers, Wilber and Karl D. Swartzwelder; and a grandson, Jeffrey Wisseman.
Mrs. Fay was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, and the Salisbury Firemen's Auxiliary.
Surviving are her husband, Willard G. Fay; two daughters, Elizabeth A. Fay, Salisbury, and Kathy L. Spence and husband James E., Kingsport, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Jodi Lowrey, Mike Wisseman and Andrea Spence; and four great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home, Salisbury, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Raymond Brown officiating.
Interment will be in the Salisbury Cemetery.

CARMEN J. FAZENBAKER
WESTERNPORT - Carmen Julia Fazenbaker, 85, of 128 Wood St., Westernport, died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 1997, at Union Memorial Hospital, Baltimore.
Born July 23, 1912, in Clarksburg, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Nicaso and Josephine Fuente. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth R. Fazenbaker, in 1990; and five brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Fazenbaker was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Westernport, a member and past president of the Westernport Senior Citizens, a volunteer at Westernport Elementary School having helped children in the computer lab, and a member of the Catholic Daughters Court Sancta Maria No. 485.
Surviving are one son, Ronald R. Fazenbaker and wife Cathy, Westernport; one daughter, Janice Morton and husband Tom, Salisbury, Md.; one brother, David Fuente, Canton, Ohio; two sisters, Anita Kirk, Moran Manor Nursing Home, Westernport, and Nora Fernandez, Durant, Okla.; and four grandchildren, Jason, Phillip, and Brian Fazenbaker, and Christopher Miller.
Friends will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Westernport, on Saturday at 10 a.m. with Father James Hannon as celebrant.
Interment will be in Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale.
The Catholic Daughters will hold a Christian wake service at the funeral home on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
FLORENCE E. FAZENBAKER
FROSTBURG - Florence E. Fazenbaker, 93, of 166 Spring St., Frostburg, died Tuesday, April 8, 1997, at Memorial Hospital.
Born Dec. 17, 1903, in Garrett County, she was the daughter of the late Marcus A. and Susan (Weitzell) Fazenbaker. She also was preceded in death by one brother, Victor Fazenbaker.
Miss Fazenbaker was a member of the Frostburg Assembly of God Church. She was a housekeeper at Potomac Animal Hospital, and had just retired on March 15, 1997, after 25 years of service.
Miss Fazenbaker was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, Frostburg, on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. only.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday, April 11, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. H. Eddie Schaidt officiating.
Interment will be in the Mount Zion United Methodist Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers will be Elmer Keller Jr., Richard Sterling Keller, Theresa Liz McKenzie, Conrad Filsinger, Gene Moore and Fred Morton.
HAROLD W. FAZENBAKER
GRANTSVILLE - Harold William Fazenbaker, 76, of 451 Bear Hill Road, Grantsville, died Thursday, Feb. 27, 1997, at Veteran's Affairs Medical Center, Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born Feb. 4, 1921, at Bittinger, he was a son of the late Elbert Vincent and Lettie (Wilt) Fazenbaker. Mr. Fazenbaker worked at CCC Camps in Maryland and Virginia prior to World War II. During the war, he served as a private in the U.S. Army.
Surviving are three brothers, Herman, Elbert Eugene, and Herbert Fazenbaker, all of Grantsville; and two sisters, Beulah Ferrari, Baltimore, and Mary Jane Albright, Meyersdale, Pa.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Sunday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. George Plants officiating.
Interment will be in Bittinger Cemetery.
MELVIN FAZENBAKER
BARTON - Melvin Fazenbaker, 66, of 19208 Legislative Road, Barton, died Saturday, April 26, 1997, at his residence.
Born Sept. 9, 1930, in Garrett County, he was a son of the late Sylvester Fazenbaker and the late Mary Janet (Schriver) Fazenbaker. He also was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl and Lee Fazenbaker.
Mr. Fazenbaker formerly worked for Kaiser Refractories for 18 years. He also worked for the Town of Barton, and retired from D.K. Erectors in Winchester, Va.
He was a member and past president of the Barton Hose Co.; former Boy Scout leader; and member of the Barton Senior Citizens.
Surviving are his wife, Phyllis (Fazenbaker) Fazenbaker; one son, Melvin Fazenbaker, Barton; one daughter, Gail Fazenbaker, Barton; one grandson, Brad Fazenbaker; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Friends will be received at the Boal Memorial Chapel, Barton, on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m., and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the Boal Chapel on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Harold Malone and the Rev. John Park officiating.
Interment will be in the Laurel Hill Cemetery, Moscow Mills.
The Barton Hose Co. will hold a memorial service at the Boal Chapel on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
ROGER W. FAZENBAKER
WESTERNPORT - Roger W. Fazenbaker, 78, of 304 Likens St., Westernport, died Tuesday, Feb. 25, 1997, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.
Born July 6, 1918, in Bloomington, he was a son of the late Floyd A. Fazenbaker and the late Ethel B. (Green) Fazenbaker.
He also was preceded in death by an infant son, Donald Alvin Fazenbaker; and two brothers, Paul and Bernard Fazenbaker. He is the last survivor of his immediate family.
Mr. Fazenbaker formerly worked at B&O Railroad as a fireman-engineer. He retired from Westvaco Corp. from quality control. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, and served in the South Pacific. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church; Tuesday Night Bowling League; and Victory Post 155 American Legion. He was a past president of the Tri-State Lost Chord Club, and an avid bowler, hunter, and fisherman. He also spent many hours visiting bedsides of laryngectomees.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Mildred (Grove) Fazenbaker; two sons, Roger N. Fazenbaker and wife Fran, Westernport, and R. David Fazenbaker and wife Kathy, Keyser, W.Va.; three daughters, Rebecca A. Stickley, Jacksonville, Fla., Susan E. Nelson and husband Jim, South Fulton, Tenn., and Norma K. Dunwody and husband David, Culpepper, Va.; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Friends will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be at the funeral home on Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Joseph Jarrett, the Rev. Meredith Ball, and the Rev. Sumner Sawyer officiating.
Interment will be in Bloomington Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, or Sacred Heart Hospice.
SADIE C. FAZENBAKER
SWANTON - Sadie Clara Fazenbaker, 83, of 2338 Bittinger Rd., Swanton, formerly of Accident, died Thursday, March 13, 1997, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.
Born May 11, 1913, at Friendsville, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Ella (Uphold) VanSickle.
Mrs. Fazenbaker was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. She enjoyed gardening, quilting and sewing.
Surviving are her husband of 67 years, Jonas Luranza "Ramsey" Fazenbaker; a son, Blaine Leroy Fazenbaker, Port Tobacco; a daughter, Hazel Ruth O'Brien and husband Wayne, Swanton; three brothers, Perry VanSickle and Joe VanSickle, both of Oakland, and Lloyd Jack VanSickle and half brother Ray VanSickle, both of Friendsville; two sisters, Amanda Lowdermilk, Friendsville, and Katie Eisentrout, Hazelton, W.Va. and Astor, Fla.; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Accident, on Sunday at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Roland E. Nairn III officiating.
Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may be directed to St. Paul's Church Building Fund. The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to services.
S. MARGARET FEATHER
OAKLAND - S. Margaret Feather, 84, of 16 E. Florida Way, Lonaconing, formerly of Oakland, died on Monday at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.
Born Dec. 10, 1912, in Elkins, W.Va., and was a daughter of the late Charles L. Jeffers and Carrie (Isner) Jeffers.
She also was preceded in death by her husband Merritt H. Feather in 1995.
Mrs. Feather was a graduate of Davis and Elkins College, and taught in the Garrett County School System for 19 years. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school and was the church organist for many years.
Surviving are one son, Charles A. Feather, Lonaconing; one sister, Ruth Fields, Elkins, W.Va.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Durst Funeral Home in Oakland on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Donald Webb and the Rev. Roger Harrison officiating.
Interment will be in Garrett County Memorial Gardens.
The family suggests memorials take the form of contributions to the Burlington Children's Home.
