VIRGIL D. FIORITA
FROSTBURG - Virgil David Fiorita, 72, of 18409 Troutman Lane SW, died Thursday, June 5, 1997, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born Oct. 3, 1924, in Morantown, he was the son of the late Frank and Jennie (Arnone) Fiorita.
He also was preceded in death by two half brothers, Joseph Fiorita and Samuel Fiorita.
Mr. Fiorita was retired from the Kelly-Springfield Tire Company, Cumberland.
He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church.
Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Theresa (Matese) Fiorita; one daughter, Linda Lewis and husband Lynn, with whom he resided; five brothers, Paul Fiorita, Valentino Fiorita, Herman Fiorita and wife Althea, all of Frostburg, Orlando Fiorita and wife Louise, Cumberland, and Richard Fiorita and wife Lita, Baltimore; one sister, Gertrude Thompson, Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.; one half brother, Raymond Fiorita, Barrelville, Pa.; four half sisters, Vera Seibert, Holiday, Fla., Emma Lastner, Berlin, Md., Katherine Nelson, Baltimore, and Amilia Fiorita, Frostburg; one brother-in-law, John Matese and wife Lois, Grahamtown; three grandchildren, Scott Lewis, David Lewis and Jaimie Lewis, all of Frostburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, Frostburg, on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Michael's Catholic Church on Monday, June 9, 1997, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Paul A. Byrnes as celebrant.
Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
CHARLES W. FISHER
FROSTBURG - Charles W. Fisher, 72, of 18708 Fisher View Drive, Frostburg, died Tuesday, Nov. 11, 1997, at the Frostburg Village Nursing Home.
Born Feb. 13, 1925, in Frostburg, he was the son of the late William and Eva (Lancaster) Fisher.
Mr. Fisher was retired from Walter Yoder and Sons, where he was a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of the Grace Community Church, Seton Drive, Cumberland.
Surviving are his wife, Lucy (Helker) Fisher, Frostburg; two daughters, Debbie Fisher, Cumberland, and Tammy Fisher, Frostburg; one stepson, Dick Balsley, Ariz.; one granddaughter, Jazlyn Fisher, Cumberland; three brothers, Larry Fisher, Midlothian, Sonny Fisher, Grahamtown, and Homer Fisher, Baltimore; one sister, Lawanda Kight, Baltimore; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, Frostburg, on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
ERNEST R. FISHER
MOUNT STORM, W.Va. - Ernest Randolph Fisher, 91, of Mount Storm, died Monday, Nov. 10, 1997, at Heartland of Keyser, where he had resided the past month.
Born Jan. 17, 1906, in Mount Storm, he was a son of the late Charles M. and Delia E. (Hanlin) Fisher. He also was preceded in death by one brother, Dodd M. Fisher; three sisters, Mabel Arnold, Bertie Lynch, and an infant sister, Dorothy Fisher.
Mr. Fisher was a mechanic for the Bell Taxi Cab Company, Washington, D.C. for 30 years. Since 1972, he was an active member of the Mount Storm Volunteer Fire Company serving as fire chief for several years. He was a member of the Mount Storm United Methodist Church.
Surviving are one daughter, Dorothy Jackson, Elk Garden; two sisters, Juanita Moreland, Mount Storm, and Odessa Kisner, Knoxville, Tenn.; one brother, Charles A. Fisher, Alexandria, Va.; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Schaeffer Funeral Home, 11 North Main St., Petersburg, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at Mount Storm United Methodist Church on Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Shelba Sisler officiating.
Interment will be in Mount Storm Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Mount Storm United Methodist Church or to Mount Storm Volunteer Fire Company.
MARGARET A. FISHER
SALISBURY, Pa. - Margaret A. Fisher, 93, of Salisbury, died Friday, March 14, 1997, at Goodwill Mennonite Home, Grantsville, Md.
Born Sept. 5, 1903, at Shaft, Md., she was a daughter of the late John and Catherine (Trapp) Chapman. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce L. Fisher, on Sept. 6, 1989; a son, J. William "Bill" Fisher; three brothers, William, John and George Chapman; and four sisters, Florence Morrissey, Leola Miller, Josephine Yarnall, and Bernadette Chorpenning.
Mrs. Fisher was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, West Salisbury, and a charter member of Salisbury VFW Auxiliary.
Surviving are two sons, Eugene Fisher, Salisbury, and James "Chappie" Fisher, Westerly, R.I.; a daughter, Mary Catherine Seeker, Arcadia, Calif.; a brother, Francis Warren Chapman, and a sister, Elizabeth Miller, both of Cumberland, Md.; 14 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Michael's Catholic Church on Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Bernard White officiating.
Interment will be in the parish cemetery.

MARION ELLEN FISHER
CUMBERLAND - Marion Ellen Fisher, 77, of Cumberland, died Monday, Nov. 3, 1997, at Memorial Hospital.
Born July 5, 1920, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Frederick William Armbruster and the late Marion (Griffith) Armbruster. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Charles M. Fisher in 1997; and her step-mother, Oma Ellen Armbruster in 1997.
Mrs. Fisher was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Judith White and husband, Charles S., Sr., Arnold; three sisters, Henerietta Prost, Martha Ellen Rowe, and Kathleen Valentine, all of Cumberland; and three grandsons, Charles White, Jr., serving with the United States Navy in New Orleans, La., Andrew White and Tobias White, both of Arnold.
Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Lee A. McDaniel officiating.
Interment will be in Hillcrest Burial Park.
VIRGINIA FISHER
CUMBERLAND - Virginia (Spencer) Weimer Fisher, 73, of Virginia Avenue, Cumberland, died Friday, March 28, 1997, at the Memorial Hospital Hospice Unit.
Born Oct. 30, 1923, in Mount Savage she was the daughter of the late Fred C. and Bessie Frances (Whitacre) Spencer.
Mrs. Fisher was a member of Central Assembly of God Church. She was a retired bookkeeper and office manager, and member of the Cumberland Eagles and Cumberland Redman Club.
Surviving are two sons, Carl Wayne Weimer and his companion Fran Garlitz of Cumberland, and Ronnie Ray Weimer and wife Marsha, Baltimore; one daughter, Marjie Lee George, Cumberland; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Hafer Chapel of the Hills Mortuary, 1302 National Highway, LaVale, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Tom Lantz officiating.
Interment will follow in the Mount Savage United Methodist Cemetery.
BETTY LOU FLANAGAN
SHORT GAP, W.Va. - Betty Lou Flanagan, 57, of Short Gap, died Friday, June 6, 1997, in Oldtown, Md., as a result of a traffic accident.
Born August 11, 1939, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Sarah (Rummer) Hull. She also was preceded in death by one son, Jason D. Flanagan; and one brother, Charles E. Hull.
Mrs. Flanagan was a homemaker.
Surviving are her husband, Gerald L. Flanagan; one daughter, Kimberly Flanagan; two sons, Todd Flanagan and wife Kim, Vincent Flanagan and wife Angie, all of Short Gap; two sisters, Charlotte L. Ullery and husband David, Cumberland, Mary D. Field and friend Ron, Fergus Falls, Minn.; one brother, Joseph E. Hull and wife Shiela, Cresaptown; and three grandchildren, Taven Flanagan, Kyler Flanagan and Hunter Flanagan.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Monday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.

LILLIAN R. FLANAGAN
SPRINGFIELD, W.Va. - Lillian Ruth Flanagan, 79, of Springfield, died Wednesday, Aug. 6, 1997, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born June 23, 1918, in Ridgeley, she was the daughter of the late Bee G. Smith and Iva (Isner) Smith. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Paul A. Flanagan; one daughter, Juanita Hott; one daughter-in-law, Mary Flanagan; four brothers; and one sister.
Mrs. Flanagan was a member of the Springfield Assembly of God Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Sandra Orndorff and husband Bill, Springfield, with whom she resided, and Janet Wallizer and husband Russell, Springfield; two sons, Robert Flanagan, Fort Ashby, and Kenneth Flanagan and wife Bobbie, Springfield; one sister, Mary Eileen Kirk, Cumberland, Md.; one son-in-law, Robert Hott, Springfield; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, Rt. 28, Fort Ashby, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Norman Landis officiating.
Interment will be in the Fort Ashby Cemetery.
