ROBERT A. BITTNER
MEYERSDALE, Pa. - Robert A. Bittner, 64, of Meyersdale, died Tuesday, Aug. 5, 1997, at the Meyersdale Medical Center.
Born March 26, 1933, in Corriganville, Md., he was the son of the late Cyrus P. and Lela M. (Caton) Bittner.
Mr. Bittner was a member of the SS. Philip and James Catholic Church, Meyersdale, the 4th degree Knights of Columbus Council 9297, Meyersdale, and the BPOE Lodge 1951.
Surviving are his wife Janet R. (Ruffo) Bittner; two sons, Richard A. Bittner and Paul E. Bittner and wife Floredeliza (Fulgencio), all of Meyersdale; one granddaughter, Paula; one brother, William P. Bittner, Frostburg, Md.; and one sister, Mary Jane Merrbach, Meyersdale.
Christian Wake service will be conducted at the William Rowe Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale, on Thursday at 2:15 p.m. and Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the SS. Philip and James Catholic Church on Friday at 10:30 a.m. with the Msgr. Timothy J. Swope officiating.
Interment will be in the Greenville Union Cemetery.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to the SS. Philip and James Catholic Church, Meyersdale.
MADELINE JEAN BLACKBURN
KEYSER, W.Va. - Madeline Jean Blackburn, 75, of Ocean Springs, Miss., formerly of Carskadon Lane, Keyser, W.Va., died Saturday, May 17, 1997, at Ocean Springs.
Born July 6, 1921, in Westernport, she was the daughter of the late Rex Isaac and Katherine (Moran) Frankland. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Blackburn, 1990; and a daughter, Katie Blackburn.
Mrs. Blackburn was a homemaker. She was a member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Keyser.
Surviving are one son, Raymond Blackburn, Ocean Springs, Miss.; one sister, Jean Truly, Frostburg; and two grandsons, Raymond Lee Blackburn II, and Jeffrey Steven Blackburn.
Friends will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Graveside services will be in Philos Cemetery, Westernport, on Wednesday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Judson Pealer officiating.
HAROLD A. BLAND
OAKLAND - Harold A. Bland, 68, of Oakland, died Thursday, March 20, 1997, at St. Clair Hospital, Mount Lebanon, Pa.
Born May 15, 1928, in Akron, Ohio, he was a son of the late Frederick A. Bland and Viola (Glotfelty) Bland.
Mr. Bland was retired from the Garrett County Roads Department with 20 years of service, but continued to work as a truck driver for Wagner Trucking and as a bus driver for DeWitt Charter Service. He was a charter member of the Deep Creek Volunteer Fire Department with more than 40 years of service, and attended the New Life Christian Church.
Surviving are his wife, Dana (Meyers) Bland; one son, Larry Bland, Yulee, Fla.; and one daughter, Debbie Baker, Oakland; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Friends may call at the Durst Funeral Home, Oakland, on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the New Life Christian Church on Sunday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Harold Harman officiating.
Interment will be in the Thayerville Cemetery.
The family requests that memorials take the form of contributions to the Deep Creek Volunteer Fire Department.
DENNIS A. BLANK JR.
CORRIGANVILLE - Dennis A. "Andy" Blank Jr., 26, of Corriganville, died Thursday, Nov. 27, 1997, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland.
Born July 30, 1971, in Cumberland, he was a son of Dennis A. and Donna F. (Hite) Blank with whom he resided.
In addition to his parents, also surviving are a sister, Lorrie A. Blank, Cumberland; a brother, Jason M. Blank, at home; paternal grandfather and step-grandmother, Edgar "Andy" and Dorothy P. Blank, Mount Savage; and maternal grandmother, Frances C. Hite, Corriganville.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Helen Blank; and his maternal grandfather, Donald Hite.
Andy was employed as an assistant manager at Naylor's True Value Hardware on Industrial Boulevard, Cumberland. He was a 1989 graduate of Mount Savage High School and had earned an AA degree from Allegany College.
Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
A memorial service will be conducted at the Central Assembly of God, Bedford Road, Cumberland, on Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. J. Gary Butler officiating.
The cremains will be entombed at a later date in Restlawn Memorial Park.
His friends, John Mantheiy, Keith Mantheiy, Brian Hirsch, Brian Bolt, and Jason Thompson, will serve as honorary pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the charity of choice in memory of Andy Blank.
GLEN T. BLAUCH
BERLIN, Pa. - Glen Thomas Blauch, 76, of Garrett Shortcut, Berlin, died Monday, Dec. 29, 1997, at the Somerset Hospital.
Born Dec. 2, 1921, in Ridgeley, W.Va., he was the son of the late Earl Ray and Nellie Leola (Ward) Blauch.
He also was preceded in death by his stepmother, Alma Leona Mason-Blauch; his wife, the former Nettie Susan Mersing, whom he married on Aug. 31, 1946; and two brothers, Carl Ward Blauch and Paul Ray Blauch.
Surviving are children, Glen Thomas Blauch Jr., Bethesda, Md., Paul Ray Blauch, Sydney, Australia, and David Alan Blauch, Bowie, Md., seven grandchildren, Ryan Thomas, Christina Lee, Jason Edward, Jeremy Paul, Justin Thomas, Eric Thomas and Robert Allan Blauch; two nieces raised by Glen, Mrs. James (Ann Johnson) Ashby, Oakland, Md., and Mrs. Ernest (Jeanie Johnson) Hoffman, Somerset; five great nieces and nephews, Diane and Jeff Ashby, Mrs. Paul (Susan) Smith, Brad and Eric Hoffman.
Mr. Blauch also was the brother of Ralph L. Blauch, Harrisonburg, Va., Mrs. Arthur (Gladys) Garges, Doylestown, Mrs. Emerson (Mildred) Miller, Perkasie, James W. Blauch, Harrisonburg, Mrs. Arthur (Irene) Moreland and Dale E. Blauch, both of Keyser, W.Va.
Mr. Blauch was a member of the Somerset Alliance Church, and Shopman's Local 527. He was employed by Uptegraff Transformer Co. for 24 years.
Friends will be received at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the Somerset Alliance Church, Somerset, on Thursday, Jan. 1, 1997, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Walter L. Frankenberry officiating. There will be viewing at the church from 9 a.m. to the time of the service.
Interment will be in Somerset County Memorial Park.

NETTIE S. BLAUCH
BERLIN, Pa. - Nettie Susan Blauch, 72, of Garrett Shortcut, Berlin, died Saturday, March 1, 1997, at her residence.
Born March 21, 1924, in Crellin, Md., she was the daughter of the late Charles Emil Mersing and Clara Bell (White) Mersing.
She also was preceded in death by four brothers, Leonard, Elmer, Clyde and James Mersing; and three sisters, Ruth Mersing, Nora Mae Bowser, and Miami E. Johnson.
Mrs. Blauch was a 1942 graduate of Oakland High School. She was a member of Somerset Alliance Church, and former bookkeeper for Somerset Christian Bookstore and the Somerset schools.
Surviving are her husband of 50 years, Glen Thomas Blauch Sr.; three sons, Glen Thomas Blauch Jr., Bethesda, Md., Paul Ray Blauch, Singapore, and David Alan Blauch, Crofton, Md.; and two foster daughters, Ann (Johnson) Ashby and husband James, Oakland, Md., and Jeanie (Johnson) Hoffman and husband Ernest, RD 3, Somerset; sister Anna B. Graham and husband Frederick, Crellin, Md.; and brother Charles L. Mersing, Kingwood, W.Va.; seven grandchildren; and five foster grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at Somerset Alliance Church, Somerset, on Tuesday, March 4, 1997, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. Melvin E. Vance officiating.

WILLIAM D. BLAUL SR.
CUMBERLAND - William Donald Blaul Sr., 69, who founded, owned and operated Midwest Graphic Inc., a Detroit printing company, died Thursday, July 3, 1997, of cancer at Angela Hospice, Livonia, Mich.
Mr. Blaul was born in Cumberland, in 1927.
He attended Catholic primary and secondary schools in Cumberland, graduating with a business degree from St. Francis College, Loretto, Pa., in 1950.
That year, Mr. Blaul married the late Helen Patricia Phillips, also of Cumberland, who in 1988 preceded him in death.
Mr. Blaul served briefly in the U.S. Air Force before moving with his wife to Detroit in 1950. The Blaul family eventually settled in Farmington Hills, remaining there until 1994, when Mr. Blaul moved to Algonac, Mich.
Mr. Blaul worked for National Outdoor Advertising, Moore Business Forms, and Uforma, Inc. before founding Midwest Graphic, Inc., a small Detroit-based printing firm, which served industrial and commercial clients in southeastern lower Mich. for nearly 30 years.
Mr. Blaul will be fondly remembered for his love of worldwide travel with the Nomads, Great Lakes boating, and his passion for University of Michigan football. He was a parishioner of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Marine City, Mich.
Mr. Blaul is survived by his three children, Debra Nickoloff (Brian), Burr Ridge, Ill., Mary Wolyniak (Joseph), Denver, N.C., and William Blaul Jr. (Connie), Beltsville, Md. He is also beloved by ten grandchildren, Megan, Kelly, Joseph, Kathryn, Elizabeth, Jacob, William, Heather, Matthew and Phillip. He is also survived by one sister-in-law, Doris Hartung (Charles), Cumberland and treasured friends, Chuck and Mary Brincat, White Lake, Mich., and Ms. Joann Small, Livonia, Mich.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Dexter, Mich., on Saturday, July 12, 1997 at 10 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Angela Hospice Unit, 14100 Newburgh Road, Livonia, MI 48154-5010 or to local chapters of the American Red Cross.
HARRY E. BLIZZARD
WESTERNPORT - Harry E. Blizzard, 89, formerly of Stoney Run, Westernport, died Sunday, Oct. 26, 1997, at Moran Manor Nursing Home, Westernport.
He was born Oct. 22, 1908, at Stoney Run, the son of the late Jacob and Anna (Duckworth) Blizzard.
Mr. Blizzard had worked for Westvaco Corporation, and he was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He is survived by several cousins.
Friends will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be at the funeral home on Tuesday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. John Footen officiating.
Interment will be in Duckworth Cemetery, Stoney Run.
ELIZABETH MORGAN BLUBAUGH
CUMBERLAND - Elizabeth Morgan Blubaugh, 89, formerly of Cumberland, died Thursday, May 29, 1997, at Carroll County Hospital, Westminster.
Born Sept. 6, 1907, in Carlos, she was the daughter of the late David and Catherine (Koontz) Morgan.
She also was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.
Mrs. Blubaugh was retired from the Celanese Corporation. She was a member of the First Church of God, Cumberland.
Surviving are one daughter, Phyllis Jean Dawson and husband Austin, Westminster; one son, Charles Blubaugh and wife Joanne, Grant, Fla.; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home, Frostburg, on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. H. Eddie Schaidt officiating.
Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park.
