ELIZABETH KNIPPENBERG BLUBAUGH
LANCASTER, Pa. - Elizabeth "Libby" Knippenberg Blubaugh, 79, of 874 Pleasure Road, Lancaster, died Tuesday, July 1, 1997, at Lancaster General Hospital.
Born February 12, 1918, in Cumberland, Md., she was the daughter of the late Howard and Myrtle (Elder) Brandt.
Mrs. Blubaugh was a retired employee of Sperry New Holland, Black and Decker, and Fidelity Electric Company. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Lancaster, and attended Calvary Bible Church Independent Baptist, Ellerslie, Md.
Mr. and Mrs. Blubaugh recently celebrated 49 years of marriage.
Surviving are her husband, Kenneth Russell Blubaugh, Lancaster; two sons, Harlan Knippenberg and wife Elizabeth, Lancaster, and Garnett Knippenberg and wife Joan, Lancaster; a daughter, Arveda Morris and husband Huey, Mountville; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Irvin Elder, Mount Joy.
Friends will be received at the Calvary Bible Church Independent Baptist, Ellerslie, on Saturday from 11 a.m. to noon.
Services will be held at the church on Saturday at noon with the Rev. Ken L. Korns officiating.
Interment will be in Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale.

IDA EDNA BLUBAUGH
FROSTBURG - Ida Edna (Durst) Blubaugh, 92, of New Georges Creek Road, SW, Frostburg, died Sunday, Nov. 9, 1997, in her home.
She was born June 29, 1905, at Keysers Ridge, the daughter of the late William Hickman and Rosetta (Duckworth) Durst. She also was predeceased by her husband, John F. Blubaugh; five sisters and one brother.
Mrs. Blubaugh was a member of Liberty Christian Fellowship, Pythian Sisters, Lonaconing Senior Center, and Frostburg Adult Day Care of Midland.
She is survived by a son, the Rev. J. Blaine Blubaugh, and daughter-in-law, Rosie (Thrasher) Blubaugh, Falls Church, Va.; a grandson Jon Marque Blubaugh; granddaughter-in-law, Katrina (Moomaw) Blubaugh, New Market, Va.; and two great-grandchildren, Jon Marque Blubaugh II, and Jessica Elizabeth Blubaugh.
Friends will be received in the Hafer Chapel of the Hills Mortuary, 1302 National Highway, LaVale, on Wednesday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, Nov. 13, 1997, at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Gary Gordon officiating.
Interment will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Moscow.
Pallbearers will be William Blubaugh, Jack Blubaugh, Raymond Blubaugh, t he Rev. James Blubaugh, Tommy Blubaugh, and Irvin Blubaugh.
JAMES A. BLUBAUGH
MOUNT SAVAGE - James Albert Blubaugh, 93, died Monday, Feb. 24, 1997, at Sacred Heart Hospital. He had been a patient at Frostburg Village Nursing Home since December, 1996. He was a resident at Frostburg Heights Apartments for one year, and resided on a farm near Mount Savage prior to that.
Born Oct. 13, 1903, at Lonaconing, he was a son of the late James Walter and Eleanora (Thrasher) Blubaugh.
He was the last of 13 children.
He also was preceded in death by two infant daughters.
Mr. Blubaugh was a coal miner most of his life, but he also drove a dump truck, and was caretaker for John Hafer's farm in Garrett County during the 1960s. He was a member of Springfield Assembly of God.
Surviving are his wife of 70 years, Mary M. (Ross) Blubaugh, a resident of Frostburg Village Nursing Home; one daughter, Laura E. Llewellyn and husband Oscar ``Red,'' LaVale; one son, the Rev. James E. Blubaugh and wife Joan, Springfield, W.Va.; five granddaughters, Gloria Cogan and husband Jim, Farmington, Pa., Mona Dunn and husband John, Shippensburg, Pa., Debbie Crissinger and husband David, Meyersdale, Pa., Joyce Conley and husband Jeff, Short Gap, W.Va., and Janet Cosner and husband Gary, Springfield, W.Va.; six great-grandchildren, David and Laurie Crissinger, Lexi, Jeffrey, and Tyler Conley, and Gary Cosner III; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Hafer Chapel of the Hills Mortuary, 1302 National Highway, LaVale, on Thursday, Feb. 27, 1997, from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. with Mr. Blubaugh's son, the Rev. James E. Blubaugh, officiating.
Interment will be in the Eckhart Cemetery.
MARDEN L. BLUBAUGH
WESTMINSTER - Marden Lyle Blubaugh, 58, of Westminster, died suddenly Monday, Sept. l, 1997, at Carroll County General Hospital, Westminster.
Born March 4, 1939, in Cumberland, he was the son of Lester and Helen (Bender) Blubaugh, both of Sykesville.
He was the husband of Carol (Nelson) Blubaugh.
Mr. Blubaugh was raised in Flintstone until the age of 15, when he and his family moved to Carroll County.
Surviving, in addition to his wife and parents, are two sons, William "Bill" Blubaugh and wife Lisa, Hanover, Pa., and Daryl Blubaugh, at home; three daughters, Marlynn Blubaugh, Hampstead, Deanna Miles, Westminster, and Charlotte Blubaugh, at home; four granddaughters, Sunshine, Lindsay, Nicole, and Heather; three brothers, Robert Blubaugh and Galen Blubaugh, both of Westminster, and Lester Blubaugh, Sykesville; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster, on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. John M. Koehnlein officiating.
Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Finksburg.

EDITH M. BOBO
CUMBERLAND - Edith Marie Bobo, 90. of Cumberland, and formerly of Route 8, Valley Road, died Monday, Aug. 25, 1997 at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born September 8, 1906 in Berlin, Pa. she was the daughter of the late Leonidas and Rachel (Browning) Dicken.
Mrs. Bobo also was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Thomas Bobo in 1976; six brothers, Presley Dicken, Herman Dicken, Leonidas Junior Dicken, Werner Rupert Dicken, James Williams Dicken, and Robert Francis Dicken; and two sisters, Reba A. Dicken and Elsie M. Dicken.
Mrs. Bobo was a member of the First Baptist Church, Bedford Street, where she was a member of the Amona Mizpah Sunday School Class. She also belonged to the Cumberland Senior Citizens and the Y.M.C.A. Ladies Auxiliary.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the George-Upchurch Funeral Home, 202 Greene St., Cumberland on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Richard Reilly and the Rev. Bill Stevens officiating.
Interment will be in Zion Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
HILDA L. BOBO
RIDGELEY, W.Va. - Hilda Lockard Bobo, 86, of Ridgeley, died Tuesday, April 29, 1997, at Valley View Nursing Home, Berkeley Springs.
Born Feb. 5, 1911, in Altoona, Pa., she was preceded in death by her husband Ezekiel Olin Bobo, and a son, Richard L. Bobo Sr.
Mrs. Bobo worked for the Kelly Springfield Tire Co. in the production department.
She was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church, Ridgeley.
Surviving are a son, James Bobo, Green Lawn, N.Y.; daughter-in-law, Lavern J. McDonald, Cumberland; sister, Rose Lockard, Dawn View Manor Nursing Home, Fort Ashby; and five grandchildren, Jill Bobo, Ann Bobo, Chris Bobo, John Bobo, and Richard Bobo Jr.
There will be no visitation.
Graveside services will be conducted at Sunset Memorial Park on Friday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Robert Cook officiating.
Interment will follow.

MARGARET E. BOCH
CUMBERLAND - Margaret Estella Boch, 72, of Cumberland Manor Apartments, formerly of Virginia Avenue, Cumberland, died Tuesday, Oct. 7, 1997, at Memorial Hospital.
Born Dec. 21, 1924, in Oldtown, she was the daughter of the late Doc and Mary Viola (Piper) Harman.
Ms. Boch was a homemaker.
Surviving are James A. Twigg; one son, Kenneth E. Fry and wife Theressia, Albany, Ga., one brother, Clifford Harman and wife Janet, Cumberland; two sisters, Mabel Crowfis, Hazel VanMeter and husband Tracy, all of Cumberland; two grandchildren, Nadine Kennedy and Victoria Zimmerman; and two great-grandchildren, Leilan and Abbygail.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Wayne R. Turner officiating.
Interment will be in Davis Memorial Cemetery, Cumberland.
LUCILE F. BODEN
CUMBERLAND - Lucile F. "Polly" Boden, 95, formerly of MacDonald Terrace and the Kensington-Algonquin, died Tuesday, April 15, 1997, at the Allegany County Nursing Home.
Born April 21, 1901, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Robert L. Frantz and Effie M. (Wickard) Frantz.
She also was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Edward Boden, who was the former clerk of the Circuit Court for Allegany County, on July 10, 1978; and a grandson, P.J. Shaffer.
Mrs. Boden was the founder and retired manager of the CCSAC Federal Credit Union, with many years of service. She continued to serve on the supervisory committee for many years. She was a member of Centre Street United Methodist Church, and Sarah Circle; a charter member of United Methodist Women; and a registered nurse. She graduated from Walter Reed General Hospital, Washington D.C., in 1927. She worked as a registered nurse in Washington, D.C., Baltimore, and Cumberland, at the Western Maryland Hospital, Sacred Heart Hospital, and Memorial Hospital. She also was a registered nurse with American Red Cross Blood Bank.
Surviving are two daughters, Joann B. Shaffer and husband Perry, Oakland; Sandra B. Haus and husband John, Cumberland; one sister, Phyllis F. Orr, Gulfport, Miss.; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Kight Funeral Home, 309-311 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Lloyd B. McCanna officiating.
Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
