INA M. BEST
BOISE, Idaho - Ina M. Best, 91, of Boise, died Sunday, Nov. 16, 1997, at a Boise care center.
No local services will be held. Her cremated remains will be buried at Fort Lincoln Cemetery in Brentwood, Md., at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of Summers Funeral Homes, Boise Chapel, Boise.
Ina was born on Feb. 26, 1906, at Bayard, W.Va., the daughter of William E. and Edith M. Purgitt Junkins.
She attended Potomac State College, Keyser, W.Va., and later taught school in Grant County, W.Va.
She married Richard S. Best on July 12, 1926, in Keyser. Ina and Dick moved to Washington, D.C., in 1930, where Dick was a police officer until his retirement in 1960.
Ina moved to Romney, W.Va., in 1982 and lived there before moving to Boise in 1985 to be near her son, Mike, and his family.
Ina is survived by her son, Michael R. Best and wife, Anne L., Eagle, Idaho; three grandchildren, Laurie S., Katie C., and Erin M., all of Eagle; a sister, Rachael and husband, Rudy Long, Bethlehem, Pa.; sisters-in-law, Carmenita Cullers, and Eloise and husband, Paul Adams, Germantown; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard S. Best, in 1977; her brother, Ralph C. Junkins; and a sister, Vivian Parker.
JOHN T. BEVANS
PAW PAW, W.Va. - John Thomas Bevans, 67, of Paw Paw, died Thursday, Oct. 9, 1997, at the Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, Va.
Born Sept. 3, 1930, in Cumberland, Md., he was the son of the late Constantine and Ruth (Wentling) Bevans.
Mr. Bevans was Catholic by faith.
Surviving are two sisters, Constance B. Laign, Virginia Beach, Va., and Jane B. Slusher and husband William, Bowie, Md.; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Monday from 11 a.m. to noon.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at noon with Father Milton A. Hipsley officiating.
Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Cumberland.
ROXANNE BEVANS
FROSTBURG - Roxanne ``Roxce'' Elliott Bevans, 34, of 118 W. Mechanic St., Frostburg, died Friday, March 28, 1997, at her home.
Born July 10, 1962, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of Francis W. and Carolee (Mackay) Elliott, of Frostburg.
Mrs. Bevans was a 1980 graduate of Beall High School and a graduate of Allegany Community College.
She received her Bachelor of Nursing and Master of Nursing degrees from the University of Maryland.
She was teaching nursing at Allegany College of Maryland, and coordinating private duty nurses for Allegany and Garrett counties for Tri-State Nurses, Frederick.
She also was in charge of Utilization Review for Medicaid for the University of Maryland and Sacred Heart Hospital.
She was a member of Frostburg United Methodist Church.
Surviving in addition to her parents are her husband, George G. Bevans; two sons, James Lee Bevans and Jordan Geary Bevans, and daughter, Autumn Nicole Bevans, at home; and a brother, W. Kenny Elliott, Frostburg.
Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home, Frostburg, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the Frostburg United Methodist Church on Tuesday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. George A. Aist officiating.
The body will be taken to the church at noon.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Rick Weimer, Bernie Garlitz, Jack Elliott, Joe Conway, Louis Concordia and Rick Cooper.

MARY FRANCES BEVER
SWANTON - Mary Frances Bever, 69, of 198 Bever Park Lane, Swanton, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Nov. 8, 1997, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland.
She was born Aug. 5, 1928, at Westernport, the daughter of the late Guy Orndorff and the late Catherine (Nau) Orndorff.
She also was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas W. Bever, in 1988; and a son, Andrew James Bever.
She was a loving mother to her family and a faithful follower of the Lord, giving and receiving His messages in her walk through life on earth.
She was a member of the Chestnut Grove United Methodist Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Krista Bever Ecker, Maryland; three sons, Richard Bever, Maryland, Alvin Bever, Fla., and Mike Bever, Miss.; two sisters, Pat Haywood, Laurel, and Delores Orndorff, Westernport; grandchildren, Andrew Ecker, Ashley Bever, Kimberly Johnson, and Brian Woodyard; and great-grandchild, Danielle Nicole Johnson.
Friends will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at Chestnut Grove United Methodist Church, Wednesday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Donald Nelson officiating.
Interment will be in Bever Cemetery, Backbone Mountain.

RICHARD L. BIGGS
THURMONT, Md. - Richard Lewis Biggs, 37, of 12 Rouzer Court, Thurmont, formerly of Westernport, died Tuesday, April 22, 1997, at the Frederick Memorial Hospital, Frederick.
Born May 1, 1959, at Keyser, W.Va., he was a son of Lewis E. and Doris Jane (Garvey) Biggs of Westernport.
He also was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents and one uncle.
Mr. Biggs was employed by First Data Merchant Services of Hagerstown for the past two years.
Prior to that he was employed by the Standard Federal Savings Bank of Gaithersburg and Frederick for eight years.
Mr. Biggs was a graduate of Bruce High School, Westernport and Allegany Community College, Cumberland.
He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church of Piedmont, W.Va. He was a former Boy Scout and an Eagle Scout.
Surviving in addition to his parents, are his wife of 11 years, Cindy D. (Jenkins) Biggs; one daughter, Nicole Renee Biggs, at home; one sister, Nancy Seltzer and fiance Doc Flanagan, Frederick; two brothers, Jon Allen Biggs and wife Kelly, Sykesville, and David Scott Biggs and wife Shawna, Keyser, W.Va.; paternal grandmother, Edna Biggs, a resident of Egle Nursing Home, Lonaconing, formerly of Luke; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ward W. and Bonnie L. (Ellifritz) Jenkins, Keyser; brother-in-law, Troy Allen Jenkins and wife Roxanne, Meyersdale, Pa.; two aunts, Wilda Fazenbaker and husband Richard, Piedmont, W.Va., and Dorothy Barnard and husband Bryan, Swanton; and two uncles, Tom Garvey and wife Doris, Freedom, Pa., and Robert Biggs and wife Joy, Keyser, W.Va.

Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home chapel on Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. S.D. Sawyers and the Rev. Joseph Jarrett officiating.
Interment will be in the Philos Cemetery, Westernport.

EUNICE M. BILLMEYER
RIO, W.Va. - Eunice Mae Billmeyer, 86, of Rio, died Friday, April 11, 1997, at Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, Va.
Born Aug. 4, 1910, in Rio, she was the daughter of the late James Wilson and Zella (Bean) Wilson.
Her husband, George G. Billmeyer, died Feb. 21, 1994.
She also was preceded in death by one daughter; one grandson; one great-grandchild; one brother; and one sister.
Mrs. Billmeyer was co-owner of Billmeyer Grocery for 40 years in Rio. She was a member of the Ebenezer Lutheran Church, Rio.
Surviving are one son, Eugene Billmeyer, Romney; three daughters, Rebecca Gillam, Neelyton, Pa., Patricia Kemp, Shepherdstown, and Elizabeth Davis, Rio; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends at the McKee Funeral Home, Augusta, on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the Ebenezer Lutheran Church on Sunday at 2 p.m. with Pastor R. Don Prange officiating.
Interment will be in the Rio Cemetery.

HELEN J. BISHOP
CUMBERLAND - Helen J. Bishop, 67, of Cumberland, died Wednesday, May 14, 1997, at Memorial Hospital.
Born Feb. 17, 1930, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Augustus and Myrtle (Long) Duckworth.
Mrs. Bishop was a retired home sitter in the Cumberland area.
She attended Central Assembly of God Church, Cumberland.
Surviving are one son, David E. Bishop and wife Julia, Flemington, N.J.; one daughter, Barbara J. (Bishop) Marple and husband Gary, Walkersville; four brothers, John Long, Franklin, Wis., Russell Duckworth and wife Elaine, Erie, Pa., Donald Duckworth and wife Lottie, Jacksonville, Fla., and Arthur Duckworth and wife Terry, Howell, N.J.; one sister, Ella Bearinger and husband Warren, Cumberland; and three grandchildren, Stacey L. (Marple) Hiltner and husband Ron, David M. Bishop, and Mark F. Bishop.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home Saturday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Donald E. Marple officiating.
Interment will be in Mount Herman Cemetery, Cumberland.
MARLE C. BISHOP
EVERETT, Pa. - Marle C. Bishop, 78, of HCR 6, Everett, died Monday, Nov. 24, 1997, at the Center for Nursing Care, Altoona, Pa.
He was born June 18, 1919, in Cumberland, the son of the late Cleveland and Gertrude (Snyder) Bishop.
He also was preceded in death by a sister, Leone Barkman; and step-mother, Pearl Bishop.
On April 1, 1942, he married Lena B. (Von Stein), who preceded him in death on June 30, 1993.
Surviving are his sister, LaVerne Imler, Alliance, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Bishop retired after 33 1/2 years from the Kelly-Springfield Tire Company, Cumberland. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served in Rome, Northern France, and the Rhineland, and he received three Bronze Stars.
He was a member of the Clearville United Methodist Church, and was a member of the Everett VFW Post #2055, Artemas American Legion Post #155, Disabled American Veterans, the Everett Honor Guard, Improved Order of Redmen Tribe #507, Everett, the Everett Masonic Lodge #524 Free & Accepted Masons, Chaneysville Volunteer Fire Company, Harrisburg Consistory, Jaffa Temple - Altoona, and Chapman Run Hunting Club.
Friends will be received at the Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford, Pa., on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday, Nov. 29, 1997, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Robert Robertson officiating.
Interment will be in the Clearville Union Cemetery.
The Everett Honor Guard will accord graveside military rites.
