Mrs. Giovanos, who was born in Maryland, was predeceased by her husband, Louis Giovanos Jr. and parents, Birdie and Harry Rumpf.
Funeral services were held Nov. 18 at Harry H. Witzke Funeral Home.
Interment was at Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery.
The Rev. Ray Martin of Church of the Resurrection officiated.
Nancy J. Stanley
Nancy J. Stanley, a registered nurse, died Nov. 16 [1998] at Howard County General Hospital. Born in Connecticut July 7, 1931, she was 67.
A resident of Columbia and formerly of Laurel, where she had lived for 30 years, Mrs. Stanley is survived by her daughter, Amy Jordan of Columbia; son, Bruce Jordan; twin sister, Barbara Jones; brother, James Denison; and one grandchild.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Nov. 29 at Fleck Funeral Home, 7601 Sandy Spring Road, Laurel.

Joseph M. Nanni
Born in Clairton, Pa., Mr. Nanni is survived by his wife, Antoinette Nanni; daughters, Carol Cobb, Deborah Dane, Angeline Nanni and Joann Wilson; brother, William Nanni; sisters, Rose Russo and Sara Urso; and five grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Angelina Nanni; sisters, Vita Smith and Amelia Martell; and brother, Rocco Nanni.
A memorial mass was held Nov. 19 at Church of the Resurrection.

Azell L. Gordon
Azell L. "Jackie" Gordon, 73, died Nov. 12 [1998] at her home in Ellicott City.
Born in Louisiana, she had been a cloth inspector for a textile company.
Mrs. Gordon is survived by her children, Robert Gordon Jr., Henry Gordon and Scott Gordon; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Gordon Sr.; parents, Lillian and Elbert Jackson; and daughter, Shirley Cassell.
Funeral services were held Nov. 16 at Harry H. Witzke Funeral Home with burial at Meadowridge Memorial Park. Father Richard Smith of Our Lady of Perpetual Help officiated.

Daisy V. Connor
Daisy Victoria Connor, 86, of Sykesville died Nov. 18 [1998] at Northwest Hospital Center.
Born in Baltimore Jan. 27, 1912, she was the daughter of the late William and Sarah Connor.
She grew up in Catonsville and later lived in Marriottsville with her niece, Dorothy Baker.
She had been a secretary in the insurance industry and worked for Fidelity and Deposit, Mutual of Omaha and Fire Underwriters, from which she retired in 1977.
Survivors include nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Nov. 21 at Haight Funeral Home and Chapel with interment at Loudon Park Cemetery. The Rev. Fielder Israel officiated.
Ethel R. Dammyer
Ethel R. Dammyer, a homemaker from Ellicott City, died Nov. 17 [1998] at St. Agnes Nursing Center.
Born in Maryland, she is survived by her husband, Earl Dammyer; daughter, Darlene Grund; brother, Charles Seward; sister Millicent Adcock; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents, Lettie and Milton Seward, and sister, Irma Fischer.
Services were held Nov. 20 at Harry H. Witzke Funeral Home with interment at Mount Zion Cemetery in Freeland.

Charles J. Schleicher
Charles J. Schleicher, 69, a master plumber-contractor, died Nov. 15 [1998] at his home in Ellicott City.
He was born March 31, 1929 in Arbutus.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Schleicher; children, Carl Schleicher, Karen Koehler, Eric Schleicher and Kurt Schleicher; sister, Joan Fiddes; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services, held Nov. 19 at Church of the Resurrection, were arranged by Sterling Ashton Funeral Home. The Rev. Don Parson officiated and burial was at Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Martha P. Ward
Martha Pearl Ward, 96, a homemaker from Ellicott City, and a member of Bethany Baptist Church, died Nov. 20 [1998] at Lorien Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born in Gamber March 25, 1902, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Ada Arnold.
Mrs. Ward is survived by her daughters, Eva Rice of Laurel, Doris Bowman of Woodbine and Alice Litaker of Martinsburg, W.Va.; sister, Elsir Raver of Gamber; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Herman Ward; daughter, Annie Buch; and siblings, Wilmer Hoff, David Hoff, Herman Hoff, Leslie Hoff, Charles Hoff, Virgie Ford and Carrie Barnes.
A funeral was held Nov. 23, with interment at Providence Cemetery.
