Charles Ernest "Tootsie" Morris
Charles Ernest "Tootsie" Morris, 88, of Abell, MD, died on January 3, 2001 in St. Mary’s Hospital.
Born September 21, 1912 in Abell, MD, he was the son of the late Foster and Frances Geneva Ellis Morris.
He was the loving husband of R. Thelma Thompson Morris whom he married in Holy Angels Catholic Church.
He was the devoted father of Mary O. Tucker of Avenue, MD, and the late James F. Morris.
He was the brother of Dora Gibson of Abell, MD, Eunice Guy of Loveville, MD, and the late Earl Morris, Frank Morris, John Morris and Bernard Morris.
He is survived by 1 grandchild and 2 great grandchildren.
Mr. Morris attended Holy Angels School. He was a waterman.

Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Pallbearers for Mr. Morris will be Dick Hutson, Mike Hutson, Paul Thompson, Bob Perry, Roy Thompson and Tony St. Clair.
Raymond Dale Buckler, Sr.
Raymond Dale Buckler, Sr. of Mechanicsville, MD died on January 3, 2001 at his home.
Born February 7, 1958 in Leonardtown, MD he was the son of Bernard Lawrence and Lucy Isabelle Buckler.
He was the loving husband of Veronica Buckler.

David Charles Usilton
David Charles Usilton, 83, of Leonardtown, Maryland, died on Tuesday, January 02, 2001 at his residence.
Born on August 31, 1917 in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late Thomas B. Usilton, Sr. and Agnes G. West Usilton. Mr. Usilton was an Optician.
Mr. Usilton is survived by his wife; Kathleen Shannonhouse Usilton of Leonardtown, MD, four daughters; Patricia A. Bowes of Tall Timbers, Maryland, Susan E. Gateau of Mechanicsville, Maryland, Nancy R. VanDerWende of Leonardtown, Maryland, and Dana K. Vallandingham of California, Maryland, a son; D. Michael Usilton of Worton, Maryland, eighteen grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by two sisters, Rosalinda M. Usilton and Bernadine Anderson and two brothers; Thomas B. Usilton, Jr. and William Kenneth Usilton, Jr.

Benedict Joseph "Ben" Greenwell
Benedict Joseph "Ben" Greenwell, 56, of Lexington Park, Maryland died on Saturday, December 9, 2000 in Hughesville, Maryland.
Born on April 20, 1944, he was the son of the James Combs and Genevieve Norris Greenwell.
Ben had operated the Sign of The Whale liquor store in Lexington Park for 25 years.
He is survived by his wife, Pamela, four daughters; Jessica, Genevieve, Catherine and Carole, and three sons; James, Jonathon and Ben.
He is survived by 11 siblings: Mary Combs McCarthy of Oklahoma City, OK, Kitty Lee Hurry Radford of Leonardtown, JoAnne Choporis of Compton, James Greenwell of Middletown, OH, Genevieve Norris of Leonardtown, Jefferson Greenwell of New Carrollton, Rose Wilson of Leonardtown, Frank Greenwell of Arlington, VA, Sybil Costanzo of Springfield, VA, Carole Wible of Hollywood and Elizabeth Matthews of Bryantown.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 17, 2000 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.at the Brinsfield Funeral Home, P.A.in Leonardtown.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 18, 2000 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Leonardtown.
Interment will follow in St. Francis Xavier Church Cemetery in Newtowne Neck, Compton.

Norman Frank Kraft
Norman Frank Kraft, 80 of Piney Point, Maryland, died at St. Mary’s Nursing Center in Leonardtown, Maryland on Monday, December 11, 2000.
Born on March 24, 1920 in Washington, DC, to the late Norman Andrew and Etta Mae Dunkley Kraft.
Mr. Kraft moved to St. Mary’s County in 1975 from Prince George’s County.
He was a Police Officer for the Metropolitan Police Department retiring after 28 years on the force.
Mr. Kraft was a member of the Mason’s Lodge #227 in Camp Springs, MD; he was also a member of the Association of Retired Police Officers of Washington, DC. and the VFW of the U.S. McKimmie-Catterton-Police-Fire Post # 2979, Inc.
Mr. Kraft is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mildred Verna Swift Kraft of Piney Point, MD, whom he married on April 20, 1940 in Washington, DC.
Three sons, Roger William Kraft of Piney Point, Maryland, Norman Charles Kraft of Bethesda, Maryland and Stephen Edward Kraft of Ellicott City, Maryland.
One brother Charles Andrew Kraft of Edgewater, Maryland.
Preceded in death by a sister Dorothy Lusk.

Born on April 23, 1921 in Ridge, Maryland, he was the son of the late James Irving and Kathryn Fredrika Mayor Wood. Mr. Wood was a bus driver.
Mr. Wood is survived by sisters and brothers; Lorraine Polly Bean of Callaway, Maryland, Irvanette W. Hall of Park Hall, Maryland, Eileen Hall of Great Mills, Maryland, Louise Combs of California, Maryland, Charles D. Wood, Jr. of St. Mary’s City, Maryland, and Clyde Hayden of Lexington Park, Maryland.

Mary Thelma Wathen
Mary Thelma Wathen, 88, of Leonardtown, Maryland, died on Tuesday, December 5, 2000 at St. Mary’s Nursing Center in Leonardtown, Maryland.
Born on April 20, 1912 in Compton, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Parren and Amanda Dury Crain.
Ms. Wathen was a life-long resident of St. Mary’s County. She was a homemaker. From 1959 until 1980, she worked as a cashier for Duke’s restaurant in Leonardtown, Maryland. She enjoyed playing cards especially pitch.
Ms. Wathen is survived by a daughter; Judith "Judy" W. DiGiovanni of Bel Alton, Maryland, two sons; Theodore "Teddy" Richard Wathen and Kenneth "Kenny" Lawrence Wathen, a sister; Leila Rogers, all of Leonardtown, Maryland, five grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.
Ms. Wathen was predeceased by her husband; John Richard Wathen, whom she married on December 7, 1933 in Rockville, Maryland.

Manuela Clavijo Sanjuan, 95, of Lexington Park, Maryland, died on Tuesday, December 05, 2000 at her residence.
Born on March 27, 1905 in Cadiz, Spain to the late Jose Clavijo and Marie Sanjuan Montero Gonzalez. Ms. Sanjuan was a homemaker.
Ms. Sanjuan is survived by a daughter; Adelaida Perez Williams of Lexington Park, Maryland, two grandchildren; Gisele P. Wright of Norman, Oklahoma, and Frank P. Williams of Lexington Park, Maryland, a great grandchild; Christopher N. Wright. She is predeceased by her husband; Jose Perez Plaza.
