Marlene Magness
Marlene B. Magness, 71, of Severna Park, died of cancer July 21, 2002 at her home.
The daughter of the late Lydia and William Kautz, Mrs.Magness was born June 16, 1931, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and attended the University of South Carolina at Columbia. She worked as a secretary for Ardolac Chemical Co., Roper Eastern Corp. and Elkridge National Bank, from which she retired in 1996.
She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Senior Choir and Altar Guild. Music, gardening and homemaking were her interests.
Surviving are her husband of 43 years, James L. Magness, and one sister, Gail Spencer of Shreveport, La.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Glen Burnie. Arrangements are by Singleton Funeral Home of Glen Burnie.

Irene Pakulla
Irene Marie Pakulla, 76, of Columbia and formerly a resident of Odenton for 20 years, died of lung cancer July 21, 2002 at the Gilchrist Center of the Greater Baltimore Medical Center in Towson after a three-month illness.
Mrs. Pakulla was born Feb. 19, 1926, in Eckley, Pa., and graduated in 1944 from Liberty High School in Bethlehem, Pa.
She was a homemaker who enjoyed reading and working with crafts.
In 1946 she was married to Gerhard W. Pakulla. Also surviving are one son, Gary Pakulla of Ellicott City; one daughter, Joan Braaten of Annapolis; two brothers, Thomas and Joseph Hudak of Bethlehem; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was the sister of the late John Hudak Sr. and Steve and Albert Hudak, Helen Geiss and Margaret Gaumer.
Plans for a memorial service on Aug. 17 are incomplete. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Howard County, 5537 Twin Knolls Road, Suite 433, Columbia, MD 21045.
William Wasson
William A. "Bill" Wasson, 54, of Fairhaven at Tracys Landing, died of cancer July 10, 2002 at Anne Arundel Medical Center.
Mr. Wasson was born Dec. 7, 1947, in Washington, D.C., son of the late James Wasson and Helen M. Wasson, with whom he resided until her death in April of this year.
He was a graduate of Surrattsville High School and attended the University of Maryland, College Park, for two years. He was an Annapolis resident most of his adult life until moving to the Fairhaven community 2 years ago.
He was a real estate developer in the Annapolis area and also a sales representative for Mercedes Benz until retiring one year ago.
Mr. Wasson enjoyed gardening and playing golf.
Surviving are two daughters, Andria K. Huici of Waldorf and Patricia Lafferty of Scottsdale, Ariz.; two sisters, Carolyn W. Hall of Rockville and Linda W. Savage of Accokeek; and two grandchildren.
Visitation is from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Rausch Funeral Home, 8325 Mount Harmony Lane, Owings, where services will be at 11 a.m. Entombment will be in Southern Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Dunkirk.

Margaret Collinson
Margaret Frances "Peg" Collinson, 79, a former nurse and resident of Edgewater for 50 years, died Sept. 30, 2000 at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis. The cause of death was not available.
Mrs. Collinson was born in Hudson, N.Y., on May 11, 1921. She attended nursing school in Baltimore, where she received her licensed practical nurse certificate. Over the years, she worked in area hospitals and nursing homes through the early 1990s.
She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Edgewater and a former member of the church choir. She was also a past grand regent of the Catholic Daughters of America.
Her interests were cooking, camping and entertaining.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Edward S. Collinson; two sons, James E. Collinson of Westminster and Ryan J. Collinson of Edgewater; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Her daughter, Suzanne Thomas, died March 1995.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road in Edgewater. A Mass of Christian burial will be said at 10 a.m. tomorrow at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.

Mary Jane Cotton
Mary Jane Cotton, 48, a 30-year resident of Crownsville, died unexpectedly at her home Sept. 29, 2000. The cause of death is unavailable.
Mrs. Cotton, a homemaker, was born in Baltimore on Feb. 2, 1952. She loved animals and enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing.
She is survived by her husband, Gregory Cotton; one son, Gregory Cotton Jr. of Crownsville; her mother, Rita Polacek of Grasonville; and two sisters, Patricia Kirby of Stevensville and Cindy Bowdren of Grasonville.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow with the funeral service at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hardesty Funeral Home, 12 Ridgely Ave. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.

William Ebersole
William Edward Ebersole, 73, of Millersville, died Oct. 1, 2000 at Knollwood Manor, Genesis Eldercare Network, in Millersville after a lengthy illness.
Mr. Ebersole was born May 13, 1927, in Winchester, Va., and raised in Middletown, Va., where he resided until moving to Millersville 15 years ago. He was employed as an automobile mechanic.
The widower of Penny Ebersole, he is survived by one son, Michael Ebersole of Jacksonville, Fla., and two brothers, Kenneth Ebersole of Severna Park and Raymond Ebersole of Sulphur, La. He was the brother of the late Yvonne Brooks.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway, where services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Middletown Cemetery in Virginia. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
Alice Silverman
Alice A. Silverman, 82, a resident of Crofton, died of complications of Alzheimer's disease Sept. 30, 2000 at the home that she shared with her daughter.
Mrs. Silverman, a homemaker, was born Sept. 30, 1918, in Erie, Pa. where she worked for eight years at Keystone Auto Supply.
She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Erie. She enjoyed crafts and spending time at the O'Malley Senior Center in Odenton.
Her husband, Louis F. Silverman Jr., is deceased.
Survivors include her son, Louis H. Silverman of Florida; two daughters, Marjorie Stebbins of Colorado and Gloria J. Fulk of Crofton; two brothers, Frank and Leroy Fratus of Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Harry Fratus, Ellen Brace and Rena Koscelnick.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at A. Brugger and Sons Funeral Home, 1595 38th St., Erie. A Mass of Christian burial will be said at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Erie, followed by burial in Laurel Hills Cemetery in Erie. Sammy Robinette
Sammy Kevin "Sam" Robinette, 44, of Crownsville, and formerly of Pasadena, died of natural causes Oct. 1, 2000 at his mother's home in Pasadena.
Born Nov. 22, 1955, in Virginia, Mr. Robinette graduated from Chesapeake High School and received a bachelor's degree from the University of Maryland Baltimore County campus.
He was a cataloguing specialist and technician in the library at Anne Arundel Community College.
He was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Church in Annapolis.
Surviving are his mother, Lillian Robinette; his sister, Debbie Thornberry of Davidsonville; and his grandmother, Ada Dotson of Virginia. He was the son of the late Harold "Pete" Robinette.
Visitation is from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at McCully-Polyniak Funeral Home, 3204 Mountain Road, Pasadena. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 333 Dubois Road, off Bestgate. Entombment will be in Lakemont Cemetery in Davidsonville.
Margaret Boso
Margaret Stanton "Peggy" Boso, 71, of Arnold, died of cancer Oct. 1, 2000 at Anne Arundel Medical Center after a long illness.
Born Feb. 3, 1929, in Clarksburg, W.Va., Mrs. Boso graduated from St. Mary-of-the-Woods College in Indiana. She had lived in Arnold for 24 years.
A homemaker, she enjoyed playing bridge, sewing and reading.
Survivors include her husband, William Boso of Arnold; one son, Stan Boso of Glen Burnie; one daughter, Beth Bennett of Arnold; one brother, Robert P. Stanton of Fairborn, Ohio; and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway. Lillian Cremins
Lillian Agatha "Lala" Cremins, 91, of Annapolis, died Oct. 1, 2000 at Spa Creek Center, Genesis ElderCare Network, after a brief illness following a stroke. .
Born Jan. 31, 1909, in Northampton, Mass., of Irish immigrant parents, Mrs. Cremins lived in Bridgeport, Conn., for 50 years. She resided in Annapolis for 10 years after living for 20 years in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
She was educated at St. Mary's School in Bridgeport. She worked in hotel management for more than 60 years and was associated with the Barnum Hotel and the Westport Inn in Connecticut and at Schraffts Hotel and the Marina Inn at Fort Lauderdale.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Annapolis and a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Ancient Order of Hibernians in Connecticut.
She is survived by one son, Patrick Cremins of Annapolis; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was married for 50 years to the late James J. Cremins and was the mother of the late James Cremins. She also had a deceased grandchild.
A memorial Mass will be offered at 9 a.m. tomorrow at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial will be at St. Andrew's Cemetery in Colchester, Conn. Arrangements are by Taylor Funeral Home.

Howard Hunsberger
Howard G. Hunsberger, 75, of Annapolis and previously of Birdsboro, Pa., died of Alzheimer's disease Oct. 1, 2000 at the Veterans Administration Rehabilitation and Extended Care Center in Baltimore.
Born March 18, 1925, in Reading, Pa., Mr. Hunsberger served in the Army in World War II and saw combat and was a prisoner of war for 15 months before escaping in early 1945.
He worked for 45 years for Birdsboro Steel Corp. before moving to this area. Until the time of his hospitalization earlier this year, he and his wife resided in Annapolis with their daughter and son-in-law.
He was a Freemason and member of the Scottish Rite Temple in Reading, Pa., and was an avid boater and fisherman.
Surviving are his wife of 42 years, Kalope "Kitty" Hunsberger; his daughter, Elaine Harvan of Annapolis; and five siblings.
Inurnment will take place Oct. 11 at 10 a.m. at Arlington National Cemetery. Friends should assemble at the Administration Building there at 9:30 a.m. Arrangements are by Taylor Funeral Home.

Pearl Jackson
Pearl Brown Jackson, 75, a 50-year resident of Buffalo, N.Y., died Sept. 28, 2000 at Buffalo General Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Jackson was born in Washington, D.C., and raised in Davidsonville. She was educated in Anne Arundel County public schools.
She was a retired seamstress at a dry cleaners in Buffalo and an usher at Calvary Baptist Church in that city. She enjoyed gospel music, cooking and sewing.
She was the widow of Joseph Jackson. Survivors include two brothers, Mearl Wallace of Baltimore and Harrison Davis of Annapolis; and two sisters, Shirley Harvin and Henrietta Little, both of Annapolis.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow at Reese and Sons Mortuary, 821 West St., with burial in Lakemont Cemetery in Davidsonville.
Mamie Jordan
Mamie Louise Jordan, 76, a recent resident of Cape St. Claire, died Oct. 1, 2000 at Skyway Manor in Cape St. Claire of complications of osteoporosis.
Mrs. Jordan was born July 27, 1924, in Baltimore where she attended Baltimore schools. She had worked for Provident Bank in Baltimore where she lived until the death of her husband, Patrick F. Jordan, last year. Then she moved to Skyway Manor.
Mrs. Jordan was a member of Gatch Memorial United Methodist Church in the Gardenville section of Baltimore. She had suffered with osteoporosis for many years, but was an avid reader and enjoyed socializing on the telephone with friends right up until the time of her death.
Surviving are her daughter, Louise Sears of Riva; a sister, Edna Mae Cheeseman of Virginia Beach, Va., and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at Miller Funeral Home, 6415 Belair Road, Baltimore, where funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday followed by burial at Dulaney Valley Cemetery in Timonium.

Helen Rogers
Helen Mabel Rogers, 75, a resident of Deale since 1983 and formerly of Annapolis, died Oct. 2, 2000 at Anne Arundel Medical Center after a long illness.
A homemaker, Mrs. Rogers was born Oct. 30, 1924, in Temple, Ga., daughter of the late Clifford A. and Minnie Jordan.
She was a member of Cedar Grove United Methodist Church in Deale and the Edwards Chapel United Methodist Church and enjoyed embroidery and crocheting.
She was married Nov. 2, 1957, to Julius L. "Larry" Rogers.
Also surviving are three sons, Charles Kenneth Dewberry of Bremen, Ga., and Michael Lee Dewberry and John Lawrence Rogers of Annapolis; three daughters, Audie Lynn Rose of Annapolis, Mary Jo Gallagher of Deale and Lori Jean Wichmann of California; four brothers, Theodore "Buck" Jordan of Orange City, Fla., James E. Jordan of Deltona, Fla., William E. "Billy" Jordan of Paw Paw, W.Va., and Jack D. Jordan of Opoka, Fla.; one sister, Mary Elizabeth Ann Verry of Annapolis; 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was the sister of the late Arthur Dorsey Jordan.
Visitation is from 6 to 9 tonight and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at Hardesty Funeral Home, 905 Galesville Road, Galesville, where services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Lakemont Cemetery in Davidsonville.

Kyle Sack
Funeral services for Kyle Travis Sack, 17, of Goffstown, N.H., and formerly of Arnold, were held this afternoon at Bedford Presbyterian Church in Bedford, N.H.
Mr. Sack died Sept. 29, 2000 at his home following a 14-month battle with cancer.
Born April 23, 1983, at Fort Belvoir, Va., he was the son of Gary J. and Karen Wiggin Sack. He lived in Arnold and received treatment at Johns Hopkins Hospital before moving to Goffstown.
He was a fan of the television show, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," and in April, the Make-A-Wish Foundation granted his wish by sending him and several relatives to California to visit the set and cast of that show. His parents described that as the happiest time of his life.
He was looking forward to his senior year in high school and enjoyed computers and his Jack Russell terrier, Xander.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother, Nicholas Sack, a student at Central Missouri State University; and his grandparents, David and Beverly Wiggin of Manchester, N.H., and Leo and Patricia Sack of Hampton, N.H.
Burial was in Bedford Cemetery. Arrangements were by Goodwin Funeral Home in Manchester.
