Hiawatha McDonald
Funeral services for Hiawatha Estelle McDonald, 95, of Annapolis, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Mount Zion United Methodist Church, 122 Bayard Road, Lothian. Burial will be in Front Royal, Va., on Thursday.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at Hardesty Funeral Home, 905 Galesville Road, Galesville.
Mrs. McDonald died of natural causes Feb. 16, 2002 at the Spa Creek Center, Genesis Eldercare Network.
She was the oldest living member of Mount Zion United Methodist Church. She assisted her husband, the Rev. Julian McDonald, at various churches including Galesville, Owensville, Clarksburg, Potomac and Patuxent United Methodist churches, and at La Plata Charge, Ridgely, W. Va., , Moorefield, W.Va., and Union, W. Va.
Born June 12, 1906, in Damascus, she graduated from Gaithersburg High School and Towson University and taught elementary school in Potomac.
She was a member of the Geneaology Society of Montgomery County and a lifetime member of the Duvall Society. Her interests also included gardening and flowers.
The McDonalds were married on July 7, 1926. The Rev. McDonald died in 1955. They were the parents of the late Julian E. McDonald Jr.
Surviving are three sons, the Rev. Ramon E. McDonald Sr. of Annapolis, a former pastor of Mount Zion United Methodist Church, Wilbur E. McDonald Sr. of Mesa, Ariz., and Franklin E. McDonald of Galesville; one daughter, Elizabeth E. Rowe of La Plata; one sister, Aimee Belle Harper of Rockville; 10 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was the sister of the late Wilbur Duvall.

Doris Sensabaugh
Doris Meade Sensabaugh, 82, a lifelong resident of Eastport, died Feb. 17, 2002 at Morningside House of Friendship in Hanover of complications of Alzheimer's disease.
A homemaker, Mrs. Sensabaugh was born in Eastport June 19, 1919, and graduated from Annapolis High School in 1936. She was a member of the Van Buren Street Baptist Church, where she served as Sunday school teacher, pianist and treasurer.
She was the widow of Harry B. McNew, who died in 1960 and William R. Sensabaugh, who died in 1988.
Her hobbies included playing the piano, reading, crossword puzzles and working in her yard.
Surviving are five daughters, Diane DiSano of Rochester, N.Y., Marjorie White of Severn, Sandra Langston of Stafford, Va., Bonnie Lowman of Lothian and Debra Landry of San Antonio, Texas; four brothers, Jack, Marion, Gerald and Ramon Meade of Annapolis; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Russell and Maurice Meade Jr. and Mildred Robinson, Thelma Meade and Elnora Jacobson.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at Taylor Funeral Home, 147 Duke of Gloucester St. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Heritage Baptist Church, 1740 Forest Drive. Burial will be private.

William Trimpin
Retired Air Force Lt. Col. William R. "Bill" Trimpin, 76, of Arnold and previously of Washington, D.C, died of heart failure Feb. 16, 2002 at Anne Arundel Medical Center.
Lt. Col. Trimpin was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. on Oct. 27, 1925, and received his master's degree from Columbia University in New York City.
He worked with the Central Intelligence Agency for 30 years until his retirement. While working at the CIA, he was an analyst whose responsibilities included tracking the Russian space program.
He was a past commodore and lifetime member of the Capital Yacht Club in Washington, D.C.
Surviving are one son, Andrew W. Trimpin of Millersville; one daughter, Kathleen M. Dalby of Arnold; one brother, Jack Trimpin of Herndon, Va.; one sister, Holly Sileno of New Jersey; and six grandchildren.
Funeral services and burial will be private. Arrangements are by Kalas Funeral Home in Edgewater.
Glenn Ullyot
Glenn Edgar Ullyot, 91, a retired pharmaceutical executive, died of natural causes Feb. 16, 2002 at Ginger Cove Health Care Center in Annapolis.
Mr. Ullyot worked for the former SmithKline & French Laboratories for 38 years, retiring as director of research and development.
Born March 11, 1910, in Garden City, S.D., he attended the University of South Dakota and received a degree in organic chemistry from the University of Minnesota in 1933. He received a doctorate in chemistry from the University of Illinois in 1937.
He was a member and former officer of the American Chemical Society, the New York Academy of Science, the American Institute of Chemists, the American Society for Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics and of Alpha Chi Sigma, Sigma Xi and Delta Tau Delta fraternities.
He received an honorary doctor of science degree from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science.
His hobbies were hunting, fishing and geneaological research.
His first wife, Eleanor Ullyot, died in 1987.
Survivors include his second wife, Barbara R. Ullyot, whom he married in 1988; and one stepson, Richard Spalding Hodsdon of Seattle, Wash.
He was the brother of the late Forest and Lloyd Lynn Ullyot.
A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Parkerford Baptist Church Cemetery in Parkerford, Pa. A memorial service will be held at a later date at Ginger Cove. Arrangements are by Taylor Funeral Home.

Mildred Ward
Mildred Virginia Ward, 91, a resident of Owings for more than 70 years, died Feb. 16, 2002 at her home after a long illness.
Mrs. Ward ws born in Friendship on June 5, 1910, and educated in Anne Arundel County public schools. She was raised on the family farm in Friendship.
On Feb. 21, 1931, she married Chester N. Ward and moved to her husband's family farm in Owings. Mr. Ward is now deceased.
Mrs. Ward was a member of Mount Harmony United Methodist Church in Owings. She enjoyed gardening, crossword puzzles, watching soap operas and attending baseball and softball games.
Surviving are her son, Donald Chester Ward of Tracys Landing; her daughter, Peggy Ann Wilkerson of Tracys Landing; her sister, Jeannette Webb of Friendship; six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Rausch Funeral Home, Mount Harmony Lane in Owings, where funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday. Burial will follow at Mount Harmony United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Grace Williams
Grace Norman Wiliams, 42, of Louisville, Ky., and formerly of Annapolis, was killed in an automobile-truck accident on Interstate 65 near Elizabethtown, Ky., with her husband, Stephen Williams, 45, and their son, Christian, 6, on Feb. 15, 2002. Their son, Robert Williams, 13, is in intensive care at the University of Louisville Medical Center.
Their vehicle was struck head on by a tractor-trailer that crossed the median strip.
Born in Annapolis on July 18, 1959, to Robert Norman of Leesport, Pa., and Margaret J. Norman of Hinton, Va., Mrs. Williams was raised in Annapolis and graduated in 1977 from St. Mary's High School. She worked as a waitress at Cafe Normandie and the former Crate Cafe and in Cape May, N.J., and as a receptionist at St. Mary's Catholic Church before her love of horses led her away to bigger horse racing facilities.
She began her career in racing in Bowie and was currently a groom for horses, working alongside her husband, former stable owner and assistant trainer for Paul McGee Trainers at Churchill Downs in Louisville.
The couple was married on Feb. 14, 1987. They were members of St. Stephen Martyr Catholic Church in Louisville, where a memorial service will be held Wednesday. Arrangements are incomplete.
In addition to her son and parents, Mrs. Williams is survived by five sisters, Mary Colby of Crofton, Carole Hawthorne of Davie, Fla., Pat Norman of Lawrence, Kan., Theresa Langford of Millersville and Beverly Soteros of Spokane, Wash.; six brothers, Robert M. Norman of West Point, Calif., William Norman of Crownsville, Richard Norman of Churchton, John Norman of Annapolis, C. Michael Norman of Crownsville and David Norman of Hinton; and one half-sister, Allison McKechnie of Reading, Pa. Her sister, Margaret Norman, died May 21, 2001.
Funeral services for the family will be at 1 p.m. tomorrow at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home, 800 N. Market St., Marion, Ill. Burial will be in New Salem Cemetery near Creal Springs, Ill.

Mary Chase
Funeral services for Mary H. Chase, 92, a 12-year resident of Annapolis and previously of Flourtown, Pa., were held yesterday at Hardesty Funeral Home.
Mrs. Chase died of heart failure Feb. 13, 2002 at Anne Arundel Medical Center after a brief illness.
Born on July 25, 1909, in Oakland Mills, Iowa, she was the owner and publisher of a local newspaper in Flora, Ill.
In July 1939 she married Byron G. Chase, who died in April 1982.
She was a member of St. Martin's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Annapolis.
Surviving are her niece, Nancy Shores of Annapolis, and other nieces and nephews.
Burial will be held at a later date at Memorial Park Cemetery in Burlington, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Martin's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1120 Spa Road, Annapolis, MD 21403.
Lillian Dunbar
Lillian R. Spaulding Dunbar, 85, a resident of Odenton for 14 years, died of cancer Feb. 16, 2002 at her home after a brief illness.
Mrs. Dunbar was born July 19, 1916, in Portland, Maine, and raised in Boston, Mass. She had previously lived in Severna Park and Glen Burnie, and in Nebraska, Seattle, Wash., and California.
She worked in a hospital and was a volunteer caregiver.
Mrs. Dunbar was a member of Nichols Bethel United Methodist Church and enjoyed needlework and crocheting.
Surviving are three children, Arthur W. Smith of Hawaii, David Smith of Severna Park and Nalini D. Courtney of Alexandria, Va.; six grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Elizabeth Kuhn
Elizabeth Wagonlander "Betty" Kuhn, 79, a 15-year resident of Kissimmee, Fla., and formerly of Southdown Shores in Edgewater, died of congestive heart failure Feb. 17, 2002 at Anne Arundel Medical Center after a long illness.
Mrs. Kuhn was born July 25, 1922, in Flint, Mich. She retired in 1981 from working for the federal government, including at the former David Taylor Research and Development Center.
She enjoyed sewing and travel.
Surviving are two children, Samuel Kuhn of Arnold and Susan Taylor of Harwood, and five grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held in Kissimmee. Arrangements are by Hardesty Funeral Home.
Ammon Lowther
Private services were held for Ammon "Brent" Lowther Jr., 84, a veterans and community activist, who died Feb. 4, 2002 of complications of a stroke and heart failure at the U.S. Soldiers' and Airmen's Home in Washington, D.C., after a brief illness.
A lifelong resident of West Virginia until his move two years ago to the home, Mr. Lowther was born Oct. 9, 1917, in Doddridge County, W.Va, and graduated from public schools in West Virginia.
He was a sergeant in the Army during World War II and was awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star.
He started the first chapter of the Military Order of the Purple Heart in West Virginia, spearheaded the preservation of the Wood County, W.Va., courthouse, developed the West Virginia Honey Festival and was active in the Civil Air Patrol and the Boy Scouts.
Mr. Lowther was recognized for service to the community and veterans by three presidents and the governor of West Virginia.
He is survived by his wife, Thelma Lowther of St. Mary's; four sons, Gerald Lowther of Panama City, Fla., James Lowther of Chugiak, Alaska, Leland G. Lowther of Stafford, Va., and Dennis L. Lowther of Annapolis; one daughter, Carolyn Stewart of Parkersburg, W.Va; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Alice Mells.

Emma Carlson
Emma Carlson, 95, of Eastport, died on Feb. 18, 2002.
Mrs. Carlson died of natural causes Feb. 16 at the Spa Creek Center, Genesis Eldercare Network.
She is survived by her sister, Ellen Higgs of Annapolis.Harry Truesdale Jr.Harry Richard "Baby Sweets" Truesdale Jr., 61, of Waterbury in Crownsville, died of brain cancer Feb. 14 at the Magnolia Nursing Home in Lanham after a 10-year illness.
The son of Harry and Grace Truesdale, Mr. Tuesdale was born in Waterbury on Sept. 9, 1940, and attended the former Wiley H. Bates High School in Annapolis.
After serving in the Air Force, Mr. Truesdale was employed as a truck driver by the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission from 1963 to 1994.
He enjoyed hand dancing.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 42 years, Veraline R. Truesdale; four sons, Harry Truesdale III of Riverdale, Kenneth Truesdale of Laurel, Illya Truesdale of Washington, D.C., and Conrad Truesdale of Severn; four brothers, Warren Truesdale of Columbia, Phillip Truesdale of Odenton, Joseph Truesdale of Pasadena and Michael Truesdale of Waterbury; and seven grandchildren.
Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. tomorrow at the Living Waters Worship Center, 8262 Locust Road in Odenton, with a Christian wake from 10:30 to 11 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville. Arrangements are by Reese and Sons Mortuary in Annapolis.
Shirley Bugenhagen
Shirley Mozelle Bugenhagen, 65, of Heritage Harbour in Annapolis, died of natural causes Dec. 25, 2000 at her home.
Mrs. Bugenhagen was born Feb. 2, 1935, in Fort Worth, Texas, and attended McKinley Technical High School in Washington, D.C.
She moved to Annapolis about 2 years ago from Waldorf.
She volunteered at Bethany Lutheran Church in Forestville in Prince George's County where she was a member and served on the Call Committee. She also volunteered at the Greater Southeast Community Hospital in Washington, D.C., and for organizations assisting the visually impaired. Her hobbies included reading and cooking.
Surviving are her husband, Roger Bugenhagen, whom she married in 1954; one son, Robert Dale Bugenhagen of Papua, New Guinea; and one daughter, Michelle Bugenhagen of Bethesda.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Bethany Lutheran Church, 5501 Silver Hill Road, Forestville. Burial will be private. Arrangements are by Beall Funeral Home in Bowie.

Grace Stimax
Grace M. Stimax, a resident of Annapolis for 50 years and formerly of Westminster, died of heart failure Dec. 28, 2000 at Heritage Harbour Health and Rehabilitation Center after a brief illness.
Born March 27, 1904, in Westminster, Mrs. Stimax attended public schools there and in Baltimore. She was married in 1922 to William Stimax who died Nov. 15, 1958.
Primarily a homemaker, she also had worked for the former Rodowski's delicatessen in Eastport and on Forest Drive.
She enjoyed playing bingo at the American Legion Post 226 in Mayo and at the Londontown Community Hall in Edgewater.
Surviving are a daughter, Betty Mason of Annapolis, and a niece, Betty Phillips of Arnold. She was the sister of the late Charles Myerly.
Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Taylor Funeral Home, 147 Duke of Gloucester St., where services will be at 10 a.m. tomorrow. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
