Dennis Grice
Dennis Allan Grice, 49, of Pasadena, died of complications from diabetes Oct. 27, 2002 at University Hospital in Baltimore.
The son of the late Robert and Cynthia Grice, Mr. Grice was born Dec. 17, 1952, in Detroit, and raised in Madison Heights, Mich. He graduated from Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant with a bachelor of arts degree in business and became a certified public accountant.
An executive in the leasing industry, most recently he was senior vice president of international finance with CIT Group Financial.
He was a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants.
He also had lived in Rochester, Mich., London, England, and Boonton, N.J., and he enjoyed playing golf, scuba diving and travel.
Surviving are his wife, Deanne E. Grice; three children, Nicholas Allan and Robert David Grice of Pasadena and Stacy Marie Grice of Cockeysville; and two brothers, Donn Grice of Royal Oak, Mich., and William "Bula" Grice of Sterling Heights, Mich.
Friends and relatives may call from 3 to 5 p.m. tomorrow at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway, where memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Burial will be private.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Maryland Affiliate, 3120 Lord Baltimore Drive, Suite 106, Baltimore, MD 21244.

Robert Hornyak
Robert Francis Hornyak, 56, of Edgewater, died Oct. 25, 2002 at Anne Arundel Medical Center. The cause of death was not available.
Mr. Hornyak was born Sept. 27, 1946, in Pittsburgh, and graduated from the University of Scranton with a degree in business management.
He served in the Army during the Vietnam War.
For the past 14 years he had been self-employed as the owner of Technical Connections Inc. in Annapolis.
He was a member of the Poplar Point Yacht Club and served on the Poplar Point Community Association. He was an amateur radio operator and enjoyed sailing and spending time with his family.
Surviving are his wife of 33 years, Diane M. Hornyak; one daughter, Elizabeth A. Bradley of Churchton; two brothers, Donald Hornyak of Texas and William Hornyak of Pensacola, Fla.; three sisters, Kathleen Trickle of Thomson, Ga., Carol Dunn of Daphne, Ala., and Mary Ann Bryant of Mobile, Ala.; and one granddaughter.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tonight at Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow at Holy Family Catholic Church, 826 W. Central Ave., Davidsonville. Burial will be in Lakemont Memorial Gardens in Davidsonville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the American Heart Association, Memorial Processing Center, P.O. Box 5216, Glen Allen, VA 23058.

Michael Lawrence
Retired Army Sgt. Maj. Michael J. Lawrence, 73, a decorated veteran and dedicated volunteer, died of natural causes Oct. 26, 2002 at his home in Gambrills.
Sgt. Maj. Lawrence was born Nov. 19, 1928, in New York City, the son of the late Michael and Mary Tighe Lawrence. He joined the Army in 1946 and served in the Korean War, retiring in 1968. He received the Silver Star, Purple Heart and Legion of Merit.
Subsequently he worked for the Army Corps of Engineers. He retired in 1989 with 42 years of military and civilian service. He was a volunteer for the Red Cross, St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Odenton, where he was a member, the county police and Baltimore-Washington International Airport. He also was a member of the Sacred Heart Council and Knights of Columbus in Bowie.
Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Eleanor Marie Lawrence; three daughters, Susan Lawrence of Clarksville, Kathleen Fritz of Odenton and Roberta Lawrence of Elkridge; a son, James Lawrence of Crofton; and six grandchildren.
His son, Michael Lawrence Jr., died in 1974.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at Hardesty Funeral Home, 851 Annapolis Road, Gambrills. Services will be held at 9 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1283 Odenton Road, Odenton. Burial will follow in Glen Haven Cemetery in Glen Burnie.
Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Anne Arundel County Unit, 1041 Route 3 North, Gambrills, MD 21054.

Lillian Moxley
Lillian Betty "Peck" Moxley, 80, of Arnold, died of a stroke Oct. 26, 2002 at her home after a three-year illness.
Mrs. Moxley was born Oct. 13, 1922, and raised in Baltimore, where she graduated from Forest Park High School. She was a 60-year member of her high school girls' club.
She worked as an office manager for Dr. Sherman Robinson for 12 years and was a homemaker devoted to her family.
During World War II she served as a yeoman third class in the Navy.
Mrs. Moxley attended New Hope Chapel in Edgewater. She loved sports, especially the Baltimore Orioles, and was an expert Scrabble player and enjoyed word games.
Surviving are her husband, Charles W. Moxley Sr.; one son, Charles W. Moxley Jr. of Arnold; two daughters, Pamela Ann Moxley Mosher of Waldorf and Nancy Jean Moxley Hobbs of Arnold; one sister, Florence Geraldine Hopwood of Reisterstown; one brother, Charles A. Snoops of Phoenix; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Jeanne Roppelt.
Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. tomorrow at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway, where services will be held at noon Wednesday. Burial will be in Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Cheltenham.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Hope Chapel, in care of Solomons Porch Bible Institute, 3106 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD 21037.

Doris Beard
Funeral services were held yesterday morning at the Taylor Funeral Chapel in Annapolis for Doris Asquith Beard, 80, a lifelong resident of Riva, who died Oct. 23, 2001 at Anne Arundel Medical Center after a brief illness.
Mrs. Beard graduated from Annapolis High School with the Class of 1938. She was born into a family of longtime residents and farmers in the Riva area.
A homemaker, she enjoyed taking care of flowers and plants.
Survivors include four daughters, Ilene O'Neill Loflin of North East, Lila Whittington of Willards, June Larkin of Mafie, W.Va., and Barbara Carr Payne of Severna Park; three brothers, Lester, John and Elmer Aisquith, all of Riva; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two great-great-grandchildrenb.
Her husband, Phillip Wesley Beard died in 1955. She was the mother of the late Phillip "Jimmy" Beard and the grandmother of the late Stanley Beard.
Burial was in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Annapolis.
Memorial donations in her name may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Georgiana Maccherone
Georgiana Marie Flanagan Maccherone, 63, a resident of Reisterstown for two years and a 20-year former resident of Severna Park, died of cancer Oct. 25, 2001 at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore after a year-long illness.
Mrs. Maccherone was born and raised in New York City, N.Y. A homemaker, she worked in retail management.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Glyndon and a former member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Severna Park.
Mrs. Maccherone enjoyed shopping, traveling, dining out and dancing.
She is survived by her husband, Lawrence S. Maccherone; her son, Lawrence S. Maccherone Jr. of Blacksburg, Va.; two daughters, Therese M. Brenner of Eldersburg and Michele M. Firlie of Mount Airy; her mother, Elizabeth Flanagan of Palisades Park, N.J.; one sister, Geraldine Flanagan of Palisades Park; and nine grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sister, Elizabeth Cartwright.
A memorial visitation will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. tomorrow at the Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway. A memorial Mass will be offered at noon Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 65 Sacred Heart Lane, Glyndon. Burial will be private.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation for Breast Cancer, 5005 Lyndon Baines Johnson Freeway, Suite 250, Dallas, TX 75244.

Kizzie Melchior
Kizzie I. Murphy Melchior, 70, of Millersville, died of breast cancer Oct. 25, 2001 at Anne Arundel Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
Born in Rusk County, Texas, Mrs. Melchior was raised in Henderson, Texas. She lived in Chartwell area of Severna Park for eight years before moving to Millersville where she has lived for 23 years.
She worked as an accounting manager for 10 years for the Poole and Kent Co.
She was a member of the Curtis Bay Ladies Club and the Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include her husband, A. Vincent Melchior of Millersville; two sons, Ron Melchior of Millersville, and Donnie Melchior of Tuscaloosa, Ala; three daughters, Nina Ratcliff of Severna Park, Susan McCann of Kennett Square, Pa., and Cathy Buckwalter of Pasadena; two brothers, Virgil Murphy of Grand Junction, Col., and Jimmy Murphy of Carthage, Texas; four sisters, Evelyn Ward of Dallas, Jewel Faris and Nina Smith of Henderson, and Clarine Brinkley of Andrews, Texas; and 13 grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. tomorrow at the Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway. There will be no funeral.
Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Texas.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may go to the Kizzie Melchior Foundation, 233 Hickory Point Road, Pasadena, MD 21122.

William Moeller
William J. Moeller, 65, retired president of Moeller Pools, Inc., died of natural causes Oct. 25, 2001 at his home in Annapolis.
Born in Washington, D.C., Mr. Moeller grew up in Cheverly. He graduated from Georgetown Prep School in Rockville and studied engineering at the University of Maryland and George Washington University.
He began his career building swimming pools in the metropolitan Washington area in 1959. He headed the business, Moeller Pools Inc., for 42 years, using many innovative pool construction designs. The company is now run by his children.
Mr. Moeller lived in Annapolis since 1978 and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
An avid pilot, he enjoyed flying his own plane.
Survivors include his mother, Lina Moeller of Annapolis; one daughter, Tiffany O'Donnell of Annapolis; one son, Ken Moeller of Bowie; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at the Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Blvd., Silver Spring. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 10 a.m.Wednesday at St. Bernadette's Catholic Church, 80 University Blvd., Silver Spring.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 1850 York Road, Suite D, Timonium, MD 21093-5142.

Donald Mulvanity
Retired Army Lt. Col. Donald C. Mulvanity, 71, of Chester died of renal failure Oct. 14, 2001 in the Hospice Center at Anne Arundel Medical Center.
Born in Methuen, Mass., Col. Mulvanity enlisted in the Army and served in combat in Korea. He graduated from Officers Candidate School and was commissioned in the Field Artillery. He served in a variety of command and staff positions during his 23 years of service, including Vietnam and in Argentina.
His military decorations include the Legion of Merit, the Bronze Star for valor, the Purple Heart, the combat infantry badge and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry.
He graduated from the University of Nebraska and received a master's degree in Latin American Studies from the University of Oklahoma. He also graduated from Escuela Superior de Guerra in Argentina and the Army Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.
After his military retirement in 1971, he worked for the Fairfax County, Va., school system as director of facility and administrative service, retiring from that position in 1986.
He then moved to Maine where he established and operated with his wife, the Dromore Bay Herb Farm and Gift Shop in Phippsburg. He was an active member of the Maine Organic Food Growers Association.
Survivors include his wife of more than 50 years, Grace Mulvanity; two daughters, Dawn Carla Pezzella of Richmond, Va., Debra Mulvanity of Durham, N.C.; two sons, Shaun Kevin Mulvanity of Rehoboth Beach, Del.; and Patrick Joseph Mulvanity of Annapolis; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 12:30 p.m. Nov. 20 at the Old Fort Myer Chapel, Fort Myer, Va., followed by burial in Arlington National Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation of Maryland, 1107 Kenilworth Drive, Suite 202, Baltimore, MD 21204 or the Kent Island Volunteer Fire Department, Chester, MD 21619.
Arrangements are by the Hardesty Funeral Home of Annapolis.

Ilias Triantafillides
Ilias Triantafillides, 74, a resident of Annapolis since 1972, died Oct. 25, 2001 at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis of complications of a stroke.
Mr.Triantafillides was born in Greece and moved to the United States in 1956.
He was the co-owner and operator/barber with his brother of the family barber shop in Riva.
He was a member of Ss. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Annapolis and of the men's club of the church.
Mr. Triantafillides enjoyed working in the garden and going to flea markets.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Athena Triantafillides; two sons, Greg Triantafillides and Dr. Nick Triandos, both of Annapolis; three daughters, Simela Triandos and Demetrea Triantafillides of Ellicott City and Maria Triandos of Annapolis; his brother, Trifon Triantafillides of Bladensburg; his sister, Elizabeth Bourdas of Annapolis and six grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. today at Ss. Constantine and Helen Church, 2747 Riva Road. Burial will follow at St. Demetrius Cemetery in Annapolis.
Arrangements are by the Hardesty Funeral Home in Annapolis.

Clifton Clevenger
Clifton L. Clevenger, 69, president of the Clevenger Corp., a Beltsville construction firm, died Oct. 25, 2001 at his home in Annapolis after a brief illness.
Mr. Clevenger was born in Washington, D.C. and lived most of his life in the Washington area. He served in the Navy as a pharmacist's mate on the USNS Lt. Raymond O. Beaudoin during the Korean War.
In 1957 Mr. Clevenger, with other family members, founded the Clevenger Corp., a commercial interior construction company in Floridia. The company moved to the Washington area in 1958.
Clevenger Corp. held two patents -- which established the company's identity -- for drywall moveable partitions and ceiling corners for use in commercial buildings.
Mr. Clevenger became president in 1967.
The company has won many awards for its work, and at the Washington Building Congress meeting last March it won an award for exceptional craftsmanship on elliptical sofits and bulkheads with acoustical inserts used in the AFL-CIO Building in Washington, D.C.
Survivors include his wife, Gay Clevenger of Annapolis; one son, Clifton L. Clevenger III of Glenwood; one daughter, Caren Clevenger of Ocala, Fla; four grandchildren; and three brothers, David Clevenger of Highland, Paul Clevenger of Bladensburg, and John Clevenger of Clarksville, Ga.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Gary L. Kaufman Funeral Home at Meadowridge Memorial Park, Inc., 7250 Washington Blvd., Elkridge, where the funeral service will be at 11 a.m. tomorrow.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Chesapeake, Inc., 8424 Veterans Highway, Millersville, MD 29908.
