ELSIE I. ROSENBERGER-WEIMER
Elsie Irene Rosenberger-Weimer, 85, Frostburg, died Monday, Dec. 11, 2000, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland. She had more recently been a resident at the Goodwill Mennonite Home, Grantsville.
Born Aug. 5, 1915, in Accident, she was the daughter of the late John and Isabelle (Knox) Broadwater. She was also preceded in death by two husbands, Thomas Rosenberger and Vincent Weimer. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She was retired from the Meyersdale (Pa.) Manufacturing Company. She attended St. John's Episcopal Church and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #1273 Ladies Auxiliary, Frostburg.
Surviving are three sons, Harold Rosenberger, Lonaconing, Paul Rosenberger, Meyersdale, and Bernard Rosenberger, Finzel; one daughter, Darlene Bittinger, Salisbury, Pa.; four stepchildren; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Friends were received at the Durst Funeral Home, Frostburg, where a service was conducted Wednesday, Dec. 13, with Pastor David Fetters officiating. Interment was in the Finzel Cemetery.
Members of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Ladies Auxiliary conducted a memorial service Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
WILARLIE HOUSER
Wilarlie Houser, 76, Middletown, Ohio, died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2000, at her home.
Born Sept. 13, 1924, in Ardmore, Tenn., she was a daughter of the late Charles Whitfield DeWitt and Mary Anita (Gillespie) DeWitt. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Terri Lynn Houser, and two brothers, Charles H. DeWitt and Harold G. DeWitt.
She was reared in the Hoyes community and graduated from Accident High School. She worked as a secretary in Columbus, Ohio, and lived in Middletown since 1950.
She was a homemaker and attended the University Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 51 years, John W. Houser; three sons, Greg Houser and John Houser, both of Middletown, and Tom Houser, Virginia Beach, Va.; two daughters, Jenni Beckner, Middletown, and Laurie Brown, Perkinsville, Vt.; one sister, Anita Brobst, McHenry; and seven grandchildren.
A memorial service was conducted in Middletown on Thursday, Dec. 7, and interment was in Woodside Cemetery.
The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to Hospice of Middletown, 4414 Lewis St., Middletown, OH 45044; The Salvation Army, 106 Clinton St., Middletown, OH 45042; or a charity of the donor's choice.
ELWOOD C. EDGAR
Elwood Charles Edgar, 74, Bel Air, died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2000, at Franklin Square Hospital, Rosedale.
Born Dec. 6, 1925, in Grantsville, he was a son of the late William and Dora (Kahl) Edgar. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ingeborg (Wilksen) Edgar, on Jan. 1, 1985; one brother, Olen Edgar; and one step-sister, Iretha Brenneman.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Accident. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of the Bel Air American Legion. He was a retired security officer for Edgewood Arsenal.
Survivors include two daughters, Darlene E. Pohlner, Bel Air, and Patricia L. Amend, Glen Burnie; five brothers, George Edgar, Salisbury, Pa., Stanley Edgar and Allen Edgar, both of Grantsville, Otis Edgar, Baltimore, and Dennis Edgar, Elizabethtown, Ky.; two sisters, Dorothy Lowery and Margaret Yoder, both of Meyersdale, Pa.; one step-sister, Edith Yoder, Meyersdale; and five grandchildren.
Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, where a service was conducted Saturday, Dec. 2, with the Rev. Dr. Wilfred Karsten officiating. Interment was in the Grantsville Cemetery.

PAULINE BENNETT
Pauline (Bechtel) Bennett, 81, Friendsville, died Sunday, Dec. 3, 2000, at West Virginia University Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va.
Born May 8, 1919, in Parkersburg, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Elzie Llewellyn Bechtel and Ada Ruth (Williams) Bechtel. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Eugene Bennett.
She was a member of the Third Presbyterian Church, Uniontown, Pa., and a long time choir member.
Survivors include two daughters, Jerry B. Glotfelty, Addison, Pa., and Mary Pat Thomas, McHenry; two sisters, Ruth Speer and Gertrude Bechtel, both of Naples, Fla.; and four grand-children.
Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home, McHenry, where a service was conducted Wednesday, Nov. 6, with the Rev. William Rodeheaver officiating. Interment was in the Addison (Pa.) Cemetery.

CLARENCE H. CATON
Clarence H. "Bud" Caton, 79, Frostburg, died Friday, Dec. 1, 2000, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.
Born Dec. 10, 1920, in Garrett County, he was a son of the late Simon and Minnie (McKenzie) Caton. He was also preceded in death by an infant son, Clarence Caton; two brothers, Herbert Caton and Carl Caton; and one sister, Mary McKenzie.
He was retired from Pittsburgh Plate Glass. He was a member of Frostburg United Methodist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served in China, Burma, and India. He was a member of American Legion Farrady Post 24.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Helen (Hoyman) Caton; one daughter, Vicki (Caton) Willison, at home; three brothers, Anthony Caton, Junction City, Ohio, Lawrence Caton, Lancaster, Ohio, and Stanley Caton, Oldtown; and four sisters, Leona Kitis, Finzel, Irene Ramhoff, Frostburg, Isabell Minnick, Frostburg, and Mae McKenzie, Finzel.
Friends were received at the Sowers Funeral Home, Frostburg, where a service was conducted Monday, Dec. 4, with the Rev. Darryl L. Gill officiating. Interment was in the Mount Zion Cemetery, Long Stretch. Graveside military rites were accorded by members of American Legion Farrady Unit 24.
HALLE B. HERSHBERGER
Halle Berwell "Mike" Hershberger, 87, Kitzmiller, died Friday, Dec. 1, 2000, at Garrett County Memorial Hospital, Oakland.
Born Dec. 21, 1912, in Chaffee, W.Va., he was a son of the late Harry and Della M. (Streets) Hershberger. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie (Hott) Hershberger.
He was retired from the Glassport (Pa.) Iron City Tube and Metal Company.
Survivors include one son, Michael Hershberger, Glassport; two daughters, Katheryn Louise Thomas, Williston, N.D., and Mildred Deanna Porter, Oakland; two brothers, Darl Herberger, Chestertown, and Robert Hershberger, Cumberland; three sisters, Lee Anna Davis and Bernice Weicht, both of Kitzmiller, and Mildred Meehan, Baltimore; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-greatgrandchildren.

EDITH M. LEIGHTON
Edith Melrose Leighton, 85, Oakland, died Sunday, Dec. 3, 2000, at the home of her daughter in Oakland.
Born Sept. 29, 1915, in Oakland, she was a daughter of the late Joseph E. and Emily (Lewis) Kitzmiller. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Vernon Leighton, in 1998.
She was a member of the Oak Park Church of the Brethren, and Camp #11, Woodmen of the World.
Surviving are one daughter, Margaret Joann Schrock, Oakland; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one step-grandson; and three sisters, Edna Elliott, St. Petersburg, Fla., Pearl King, Frostburg, and Thelma Inscore, Elkton, Va.
Friends were received at the Durst Funeral Home, Oakland. A service was conducted at the Oak Park Church of the Brethren earlier today, Dec. 7, with Pastor Mel Menker officiating. Interment was in Garrett County Memorial Gardens.

WILLIAM R. YOUNKIN
William R. Younkin, 72, Addison, Pa., died Friday, Dec. 1, 2000, at his home.
Born Jan. 16, 1928, in Honesdale, Pa., he was a son of the late Frank G. and Hazel (Tressler) Younkin. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert N. Younkin.
He was employed by GTE for 35 yers. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and a member of the board of directors of the Addison Cemetery Association.
Survivors include his wife, Eugenia (Hill) Younkin; three daughters, Marlene Pletcher, Rockwood, Pa., Charlene Eller, Friedens, Pa., and Lisa Fike, Tampa, Fla.; one son, William R. Younkin Jr., Addison; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jeff Younkin, and Cenneth Younkin, both of Rockwood; and two sisters, Kathleen Wheaton Smith, Markleton, Pa., and Dolly Kinsinger, Confluence, Pa.

JOHN W. MOOREHEAD
John W. "Junior" Moorehead III, 44, Bloomington, died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2000, at Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser, W.Va.
Born Jan. 9, 1956, in Keyser, he was the son of the late John W. and Elsie (High) Moorehead.
He was Pentecostal by faith and was a former employee of Farley's Foodland.
Survivors include his wife, Becky (Riggs) Moorehead; two sons, John W. Moorehead IV and Samuel Moorehead, both at home; two daughters, Heather Moorehead, Bloomington, and Bethany Moorehead, at home; one half-brother, Sharon "Butch" Smith, Pennsylvania; two half-sisters, Charlotte Baker, Westernport, and Linda Kinder, Cortland, Ohio; and two grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today, Thursday. A service will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday, Dec. 8, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Steffan Carr officiating. Interment will follow in the Bloomington Cemetery.
REBECCA A. MORRIS
Rebecca Ann Morris, 27, Augusta, W.Va., died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2000, at her home.
She was the daughter of Carole J. (Welch) Morris and the late Roger E. Morris. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Roger E. Morris Jr.
Survivors include her husband, Allen Veech; two sons, Dillion Ryan Morris and Devin Corey Veech, both at home; one brother, William Todd Morris, Romney, W.Va.; maternal grandparents, Ronald and Alma (Oates) Welch, Augusta; and a paternal grandmother, Matilda Perdue, Parrisburg, Va.

RICHARD L. DAVIS
Richard Lantz Davis, 88, Oakland, died Friday, Dec. 1, 2000, at the Charles W. Gerstenberg Hospice Center, West Palm Beach, Fla.
Born Aug. 22, 1912, in Oakland, he was a son of the late Wilbur L. and Ona (Lantz) Davis. He was also prededed in death by his wife, Eva (Nordeck) Davis, in 1999, and one brother, Charles Davis.
He was educated in the Oakland school system and graduated from Oakland High School in 1930. He was originally employed as a general deputy in the clerk's office, and was subsequently designated as a chief deputy until elected clerk in 1946, where he served until his retirement in 1978. He was a 50-plus year member of the Oakland Lions Club, having served as president, and 10 years as secretary/treasurer. He received the International Melvin Jones Fellowship Award in 1998. He was a lifelong member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, served as a trustee of the church, secretary to the official board, secretary/treasurer to the Men's Bible Class, and was a member of the Methodist Men. He played for 15 years in the Oakland Band, was a member of the Knights of Pythias, and served as treasurer for the town of Oakland for 11 consecutive years.
Surviving are two daughters, Geraldine Lane, Sun City Center, Fla., and Brenda Teets, Jupiter, Fla.; one sister, Virginia Ensminger, Fayetteville, N.C.; four grandchildren; and seven great-grand-children.
Friends were received at the Durst Funeral Home, Oakland. A service was conducted at St. Paul's United Methodist Church on Wednesday, Dec. 6, with the Rev. Lawrence Sherwood and the Rev. Samuel Moore officiating. Interment was in the Oakland Cemetery.
