LENA L. SEBOLD
Lena L. Sebold, 88, of Mtn. Lake Park, died Monday, Feb. 26, 2001, at Cuppett-Weeks Nursing Home, Oakland.
Born on July 26, 1912, in Horse Shoe Run, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Daniel C. Blamble and Anna (Wotring) Blamble. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Earl J. Sebold in 1967; and her son, James E. Sebold in 1997.
She is survived by one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
Friends were received at the Durst Funeral Home, Oakland, on Tuesday.
Services were conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday, with the Rev. Mel Menker officiating.
Interment was in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens, Oakland.
GLORIA M. RILEY
Gloria M. Riley, 88, Loch Lynn, died Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2001, at the Ortiz Personal Care Home, Oakland.
Born on April 13, 1915 in Springfield, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Victor W. and Gracia B. (Gibson) Wilhelm. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Elwood D. Riley, in 1972.
She was a member of the Pleasant Dale United Methodist Church and later the Deer Park United Methodist Church. She worked as a cook at the cafeteria of Southern High School until her retirement in 1976.
She is survived by five daughters, Barbara Riley, Loch Lynn, Beverly Brenneman, Bloomington, Dorotha Beckman, Swanton, Jane Carnes, Long Island, N.Y., and Norma K. "Katie" Shell, Savannah, Ga.; 17 grand-children; 27 great-grand-children; and one great-great-granddaughter.
Friends will be received at the Stewart Funeral Home, Oakland, from 7 to 9 p.m. today, Thursday. Services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, March 2, 2001, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Meredith Ball officiating. Interment will be in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens, Oakland.
LAURA E. HAMMACK
Laura Ethel Hammack, 89, Terra Alta, W.Va., died Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2001, at Garrett Memorial Hospital, Oakland.
She was born Feb. 12, 1912, in Terra Alta, daughter of the late Walter D. and Mary Ella Bucklew Liston.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Orval Wolfe, Dec. 4, 1958, and her second husband, Ernest Hammack, on July 16, 1980; a daughter, Hazel Jean Reckart; five brothers; six sisters; one great-granddaughter; and one great-great grand-son.
She was a member of the Evergreen Baptist Church, Terra Alta, and the Ever-green Baptist Missionary Society.
She is survived by one daughter, Betty Lee Metheny, Terra Alta; one son, Robert Dailey Wolfe, Terra Alta; three brothers, John A. Liston and Daily Liston, both of Terra Alta, and Bobby Liston, Wadestown, W.Va; seven sisters, Ruby E. Ringer, Reedsville, W.Va.; Georgie Sisler, Terra Alta, Ida Row, Morgantown, W.Va., Betty Martino, Wadestown, Maxine Friend and Lucy Mayne, both of Arthurdale,W.Va., and Kathleen Emerson, Kingwood, W.Va.; seven grand-children; 15 great-grand-children; and three great-great grandchildren.
Friends will be received at Arthur H. Wright Funeral Home, Terra Alta, today, March 1, 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and Friday, March 2, from noon until 1 p.m., the time of the service, with Pastor Barry Adkins officiating.
Interment will follow in the Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Bruceton Mills, W.Va.
FRANCIS E. WILLIS
Francis Eugene Willis, 63, Mount Storm, W.Va., died Friday, Jan. 21, 2000, at Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser, W.Va.
Born May 10, 1936, in Oakmont, W.Va., he was a son of the late Walter L. and Vernia M. (Tasker) Willis. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Shirley Berg, and two brothers, Raymond Willis and John Willis.
He was a retired truck driver for Jones Trucking, Elk Garden, W.Va.
Surviving are his wife, Lucille (Aronhalt) Willis, whom he married July 17, 1957; one son, Randy L. Willis, Mt. Storm; five daughters, Darlene Meadows, Baltimore, Frances Saylor, Boonsboro, Judy Lockie and Susie Buckhotz, both of Mt. Storm, and Tammy Slaubaugh, Aurora, W.Va.; three sisters, Marguerite McCoole, McCoole, and Wilma James and Dorothy McCloud, both of Kitzmiller; two brothers, Bernard Willis, Elk Garden, and Gary Willis, Keyser, W.Va.; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
Friends were received at the deceased’s residence. A service was conducted Tuesday, Jan. 25, at the Nethken Hill United Methodist Church, Elk Garden, with the Rev. Leslie Hipp officiating. Interment was in the Nethken Hill Cemetery.

CHARLES M. BEEMAN
Charles Michael Beeman, 56, Piedmont, W.Va., died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2000, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.
Born Feb. 9, 1943, in Beryl, W.Va., he was the son of the late Charles R. and Alice (Kidwell) Beeman. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Beatrice Armentrout, and Rosemary Brown.
He was retired from the Westvaco Corporation, having worked in the Core Room. He attended the First Assembly of God Church, Westernport.
Survivors include his wife, Mattie (Riggleman) Beeman; one son, Michael Beeman, Keyser, W.Va.; one daughter, Sherri Miller, Piedmont; three sisters, Anna Smith, Virginia, Jack Fazenbaker, Piedmont, and Jean Marple, Bloomington; and three grandchildren.
Friends were received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport. A service was conducted at the First Assembly of God Church on Sunday, Jan. 23, with the Rev. Jerry Schloe officiating. Interment was in Potomac Memorial Park, Keyser.
JESSIE V. TUEL
Jessie Violet Tuel, 84, formerly of Elk Garden, W.Va., died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2000, in Garrett County Memorial Hospital, Oakland.
Born Dec. 24, 1915, in Oakmont, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Soloman and Nora (Lyons) Ruble. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles F. Tuel, and one son, Lawrence 'Dink' Tuel.
She was a member of the Elk Garden United Methodist Church and the charge choir.
Surviving are one son, Charles Tuel, Newport News, Va.; one brother, Estel Ruble, Elk Garden; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Friends were received at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home, Kitzmiller, where a service was conducted Saturday, Jan. 22, with the Rev. Brenda Shreve officiating. Interment was in the IOOF Cemetery, Elk Garden.
HARRISON G. FOY SR.
Harrison G. Foy Sr., 50, Grantsville, died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2000, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.
Born Aug. 26, 1949, in Frostburg, he was a son of the late Mary (Butler) Brown.
He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Salisbury, Pa. A U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, he was a member of the Grantsville Post 214, American Legion. He was also a member of the Grantsville Lions Club, the Northern Athletic Boosters, and was an honorary member of the Grantsville Lioness Club. In 1994, he was nominated for the Maryland, You Are Beautiful award. He had been employed as a heavy equipment mechanic for M&S Stone Quarry.
Surviving are his wife, Margaret V. (Lapp) Foy; two sons, Harrison Foy Jr., West Salisbury, Pa., and Jeramie Foy, Grantsville; one brother, Ken Brown, North Carolina; one sister, Evelyn Price, Winchester, Va.; and two grandchildren.
Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, where a service was conducted Saturday, Jan. 22, with the Rev. David E. Fetter officiating. Interment was in the Grantsville Cemetery.
DAVID W. NASER
David Wagner Naser, 70, Grantsville, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2000, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.
Born Feb. 5, 1929, in East McKeesport, Pa., he was the son of the late Harry Charles and Margaret Louise (Wagner) Naser.
He owned and operated the Village Flower Shop, Shadyside, Pittsburgh, for over 41 years, until his retirement in 1990. He also restored an abandoned strip mine in Garrett County and founded the Casselweed Nursery.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Elsa (Rodgers) Naser; two sons, David W. Naser Jr., West Deer, Pa., and James B. Naser, Canonsburg, Pa.; one daughter, Sally H. Naser, Conway, MA.; and two grandchildren.
His body was donated to medical science through the Anatomical Gift Foundation of Laurel.
Interment will be private.

JARED W. SCOFIELD
Jared W. Scofield, 18, New Wilmington, Pa., died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2000, at the Jameson Health System Hospital, New Castle, Pa., from a rare case of blood poisoning.
Born Sept. 14, 1981, in Mount Pleasant, Pa., he was the son of J. Franklin 'Hank' and Cathy (Hinebaugh) Scofield.
He was a senior at Wilmington Area High School, where he was actively involved in football, basketball, and baseball. He played split end and defensive back for his school’s football team and was named to the first-team defense in Mercer County (Pa.) Athletic Conference all-star voting. He played forward for the basketball team and was selected to the all-tournament team at the Linesville (Pa.) Holiday Tournament, He played on his school’s baseball team as its pitcher and outfielder. He was also a member of the Youngstown Class B League. He belonged to the New Wilmington United Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by one sister, Jenesa L. Scofield, a student at John Carroll University in Ohio; his maternal grandparents, Robert and Louella Hinebaugh, Friendsville; his paternal grandmother, Mary Lu Scofield Edwards, Fort Mill, S.C.; and several other relatives in Garrett County.
Friends were received at the Smith Funeral Home, New Wilmington. A service was conducted Friday, Jan. 7, at the New Wilmington United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Dr. James A. Durlesser officiating. Interment followed.

MICHAEL W. UPOLE SR.
Michael W. Upole Sr., 39, Deer Park, died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2000, of multiple melanoma at the University of Maryland Hospital, Baltimore.
Born May 31, 1960, in Oakland, he was a son of Harold H. Upole, Deer Park, and Nancy L. (Hinebaugh) Upole, Mtn. Lake Park.
He was a school bus contractor for the Garrett County Board of Education, Bus 79, and was a former member of Company 'C', Maryland National Guard, Oakland.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Rose M. (Rhodes) Upole; one daughter, Ashley N. Upole, at home; three sons, Michael W. Upole Jr., Joshua S. Upole, and Corey W. Upole, all at home; two sisters, Tammy Upole, Deer Park, and Rebecca Glotfelty, Oakland; and one brother, Douglas Upole, Mtn. Lake Park.
Friends were received at the Stewart Funeral Home, Oakland. A service was conducted at the Deer Park Family Worship Center earlier today, Jan. 27, with the Rev. Bill VanHoosier and the Rev. Gail Hixon officiating. Interment was in the Deer Park Cemetery.
