Dolores A. Post
81, of Sykesville
Dolores A. Post, 81, of Sykesville, died Thursday, Jan. 28, 1999, at Gilchrist Center in Towson.
Born Feb. 9, 1917, in Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Michael B. Chuey and Mary Pidick. She was the wife of the late John S. Post.
She had been an accounting secretary.
Surviving are son Michael S. Post of Sykesville, with whom she resided; daughter Carol A. Harrison of Baltimore; sister Mary C. Nicol; six grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
A funeral liturgy was held yesterday at Ruck Towson Funeral Home, 1050 York Road, Towson. Her ashes will be interred at a later date in Connecticut.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Hospice of Baltimore, Gilchrist Center, 6601 N. Charles St., Baltimore, MD 21204.

Joseph B. Bowers
63, of Reisterstown
Joseph Bradley Bowers, 63, of Reisterstown, died suddenly Friday, Oct. 29, 1999, from natural causes.
Born May 8, 1936, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Henry and Leanora Bradley Bowers. He was the husband of Rosemary Litzinger Bowers.
He was retired from the Shenandoah Insurance Co., where he had been a general agent for many years.
He was a longtime member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Glyndon, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a former member of the Reisterstown Lions Club and the Optimist Club. He was also a member of the Reisterstown Moose Lodge 1577.
As a young man, he had coached football with the Reisterstown Recreation Council. He had sung with the Carroll County Old Line Statesmen.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are daughters Darlene Ann Fanshaw of Lawrenceville, Ga., Kimberly Marie Coffman of Elkridge, and Karen Marie O'Neill of Ocean Pines; brother Charles D. Bowers of Salisbury; and four grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Church, Glyndon, with the Rev. Lloyd Aiken as celebrant. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery, Reisterstown.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills.

Jack E. Masimore
62, of Manchester
Jack Edward Masimore, 62, of Manchester, died Saturday, Oct. 30, 1999, at his home.
Born June 30, 1937, he was the son of the late Chester and Evelyn Leppo Masimore. He was the husband of Patricia May Burke Masimore.
Arrangements are incomplete at this time and are being handled by Eline Funeral Home, 934 S. Main St., Hampstead.

Ruth E. Montgomery
79, of Mount Airy
Ruth Estelle Montgomery, 79, of Mount Airy, died Saturday, Oct. 30, 1999, at Carroll County General Hospital, Westminster.
Born March 25, 1920, in Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Ruth Emory Jones. She was the wife of the late Luther Anderson Montgomery.
She had been a clerical worker with Montgomery Wards Department Store.
Surviving are daughters Sharon M. Peters of Woodlawn, Elva Stiegler of Mount Airy, and Roberta ``Bobbie'' Melton of Hanover, Pa.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Stephens Reformed Episcopal Church, 2275 Liberty Road, Eldersburg, with the Rev. Eric Jorgensen officiating. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park, Sykesville.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to St. Stephens Reformed Episcopal Church, 2275 Liberty Road, Eldersburg, MD 21784.

Raymond B. Greenholtz
94, of Manchester
Raymond Benjamin Greenholtz, 94, of Long View Nursing Home, Manchester, died Tuesday evening, Sept. 30, 1997, at the nursing home.
Born Aug. 21, 1903, in Maryland, he was the son of the late Samuel Greenholtz. He was the husband of Clara Effie Greenholtz, who died in June 1996.
A former 30-year resident of Finksburg, he worked 25 years as a milkman for Western Maryland Dairy in Baltimore. He owned and operated his own grocery store in Baltimore for 15 years, and then worked for Myers Grocery, retiring at age 68. He was a member of the Door to Virtue Lodge of Westminster No. 46, AF&AM.
Surviving are daughter Joan Lee Balton of Sykesville; two grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by sister Adelia Duvall.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. today at the Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster, with the Rev. Stanley Witson officiating. Private interment will be at the convenience of the family in Pipe Creek Cemetery, Uniontown.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until time of services Thursday.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the charity of one's choice.

George E. Kievning
76, of Westminster
George Edward Kievning, 76, of Westminster, died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 1997, at his home after an extended illness.
Born Sept. 8, 1921, in Newark, N.J., he was the son of the late Frederick and Lena Hasler Kievning. He was the husband of Inez Doebler Kievning, his wife of 50 years.
He retired from Worthington Pump in Taneytown, where he was employed for 47 years. He was a World War II veteran and received a B.S. degree from Rutgers University. He was a member of the Boy Scout Fraternity Gamma Phi, Madison Lodge No. 93 F&A Masons, the National Purchasing Agents Association. He was a guest speaker at purchasing industry events and was published in several trade journals. He was a volunteer for Food Sunday He was a member and trustee of the First United Presbyterian Church of Westminster and past member and deacon of Memorial Presbyterian Church in Newark, N.J.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are daughter and son-in-law Inez P. and Jerry Baldwin of Hampstead; and a grandson.
He was predeceased by sisters Ann O'Connor and Viola Carlin, and brothers August, Louis and Frederick Kievning.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First United Presbyterian Church, 65 Washington Road, Westminster, with his pastor, the Rev. Steven R. Fleming, officiating.

Monroe R. Pfoutz
83, of Westminster
Monroe Richard Pfoutz, 83, of Westminster, formerly of Union Bridge, died Wednesday, Oct. 1, in Union Bridge.
Born Feb. 26, 1914, near Union Bridge, he was the son of the late Jesse and Malla Pittinger Pfoutz. He was the husband of LuEllen Cover Pfoutz.
He was active in the lumber and stair construction business and the building industry. In 1940, he founded his own construction company. In 1961, he founded the M.R. Pfoutz & Sons Corp. Then, in 1981, he founded the Prime Manufacturing Co., a subsidiary of the original company. He was a charter member of the Union Bridge Lions Club and served on the Carroll County Economics Development Commission and the Parks and Recreation Board.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are sons Richard C. Pfoutz of Columbus, Ohio, Robert W. Pfoutz and Thomas D. Pfoutz, both of Union Bridge; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services and interment are private at the request of the deceased. There will be no public visitation at the funeral home. A memorial service may be announced at a later date.
If desired, memorials may be made in his name to the church of one's choice.
Skiles Funeral Home, Taneytown, is in charge of arrangements.

Della M. Thomas
92, of Westminster
Della M. Thomas, 92, of Westminster, died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 1997, at the Westminster Nursing Home.
Born Nov. 13, 1904, in Carroll County, she was the daughter of the late David O. and Rose Deamer Wentz. She was the wife of the late Russell G. Thomas, who died May 19, 1970.
She retired from the English American Tailoring Co., Westminster, formerly known as the Grief Sewing Factory. She was member of the Amalgamated Clothing and Textile Union.
She is survived by daughters Genevieve M. Eckard of Taneytown and Helen L. Wolf of Silver Run; brothers Edgar Wentz of Pleasant Hill, Pa., and Herbert Wentz of Massachusetts; eight grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 11 great great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by daughter Julia A. Daugherty, sister Florena Martin, and brothers Paul, Chester, Jacob, Roy, Oscar, Elwood and Cleatus Wentz.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Littles Funeral Home, Littlestown, with the Revs. Matthew S. Schenning and Norma L. Schenning officiating. Interment will be in Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Manchester.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

William R. Cook
79, of Glyndon
William Rozell Cook, 79, of Glyndon, died Wednesday, Dec. 2, 1998, at Northwest Hospital Medical Center.
Born Dec. 26, 1918, in Baltimore, he was the husband of Lois H. Cook of Glyndon.
He had been a sheet metal fabricator in the Johns Hopkins Physics Lab, and was a member of Ionic Lodge No. 145 A.F. & A.M. for 50 years, and the Boumi Temple.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two nephews and one niece.
He was predeceased by sister Peggy J. Tregoe.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Eline Funeral Home, 11824 Reisterstown Road, Reisterstown. Interment will be in Forest Baptist Cemetery, Upperco.
Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, where the Ionic Lodge No. 145 will hold a memorial service at 8 p.m.

Philip A. Selby
51, of Rockford, Ill.
Philip Arthur Selby, 51, of Rockford, Ill., died Saturday, Nov. 28, 1998, in Rockford Memorial Hospital.
Born April 29, 1947, in Shelby, N.C., he was the son of Frank and Bernice Brooks Selby of Taneytown. He was the husband of Dianne Ferguson, whom he married June 22, 1972.
He grew up in Westminster on a dairy farm. A Westminster High School graduate, he received a bachelor of science degree in Industrial Art Education from the University of Maryland. He served as a captain in the Air Force where he flew RC-135 reconnaissance aircraft in the United States, Alaska, Europe and the Far East. He was employed by Bergstrom Manufacturing Co. for the past 18 years where he was product support manager. He and his wife owned Additional Storage in Loves Park, Ill. He was formerly employed by Coleman Air Transport. In his younger years he had enjoyed skiing, repelling, camping and hiking. He also enjoyed traveling, science, computers, gadgets, photography, astronomy and carpentry.
Surviving, in addition to his wife and parents, are daughter Laura Selby of Rockford, Ill.; one aunt; one uncle; and numerous cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at First United Presbyterian Church, 65 Washington Road, Westminster, with the Rev. David Smazik officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Noah's Ark Animal Sanctuary, 111 N. First, Rockford, IL 60117.

Mark D. Tipton
37, of Westminster
Mark David Tipton, 37, of Westminster, died Wednesday, Dec. 2, 1998, at University Hospital Shock Trauma Unit from injuries received in an accident Tuesday morning in Westminster.
Born July 3, 1961, in Gettysburg, Pa., he was the son of Virginia Poole Bailey of Clarksburg, W.Va., and the late Frank Melvin Tipton. He was the husband of Lola ``Luke'' Tipton.
He was a welder for the Arundel Corp. in Baltimore and was a member of the International Operating Engineers Local No. 37.
Surviving, in addition to his wife and mother, are children Mark David Tipton Jr. and Andrea N. Tipton, both of Westminster; brothers Robert W. and Michael W. Bailey, both of Clarksburg, W.Va.; sister Carol Bailey of Clarksburg, W.Va.; step-father William H. Bailey of Clarksburg, W.Va.; step-mother Shirley Tipton of Westminster; and devoted friend Tony Raper of Taneytown.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Fletcher Funeral Home, 254 E. Main St., Westminster. Interment will be in Deer Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Margaret A. `Peggy' Brown
50, of Owings Mills
Margaret Ann ``Peggy'' Brown, 50, of Owings Mills, died Wednesday, Jan. 27, 1999, at Greater Baltimore Medical Center after an extended illness.
Born Sept. 27, 1948, in Gettysburg, Pa., she was the daughter of Emily Smith Bangs of Westminster. She was the wife of Robert L. ``Bob'' Brown III.
She graduated from Westminster High School in 1966, and was a member of Owings Mills Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She was a certified emergency medical technician and IV tech. She attended Sacred Heart and St. Charles Catholic Churches.
Surviving, in addition to her mother and husband, are children Tina Marie Perna of Toms River, N.J., and Randy H. Brown of Owings Mills; sister Penny Bangs of Westminster; and stepbrother Thomas E. Bangs Jr. of Post Falls, Idaho.
She was predeceased by stepfather Wilbur T. Bangs.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Fletcher Funeral Home, 254 E. Main St., Westminster, with the Rev. James D. Proffitt, associate pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Glyndon, officiating. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Craig S. Hensby
37, formerly of Sykesville
Craig Steven Hensby, 37, of Burke, Va., formerly of Sykesville, died Dec. 31, 1998 in Burke, Va.
Born June 12, 1961, in Washington, D.C., he was the son of Jerome R. and Ellen Thompson Hensby of Towson. He was the wife of Takako Yamashiro Hensby.
He graduated from South Carroll High School. He was a Marine veteran and served in Okinawa as a sergeant. He was employed at Softworks computer systems development company, where he worked in research and development. He enjoyed motorcycling.
Surviving, in addition to his parents and wife, are daughter Amy Ellen Hensby of Burke; and sisters Robin Pyles of Horsham, Pa., and Mary Beth Hensby of Sykesville.
A celebration of life will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at Landings Community Center, 6001 Cove Landing Road, Burke, Va. Interment will be at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery.
A trust fund has been established for Amy.

M. Irene Lynn
98, of Westminster
M. Irene Lynn, 98, of Westminster, died Monday, Jan. 25, 1999, at Westminster Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born July 31, 1900, in Westminster, she was the daughter of the late John Harry and Mary Belinda Geiman Young. She was the wife of Earl Jacob Lynn, who died in 1987.
She was a member of Westminster Church of the Brethren and the Daughters of the American Revolution, William Winchester chapter. She enjoyed vegetable gardening and raising amaryllis flowers.
Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law Kathryn L. and Richard Vantries of Arcadia, Fla., and Middleburg, Rosemary L. and Harold McCloskey of Westminster; three grandsons; and one great-granddaughter.
She was predeceased by brothers Charles R., William H., and Earl D. Young.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Myers Funeral Home, 91 Willis St., Westminster, with her pastor, the Rev. Scott Duffey and the Rev. David B. Helfrich officiating. Interment will follow in Meadow Branch Cemetery, Westminster.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Murray L. Miller Sr.
93, of Gettysburg, Pa.
Murray Leroy Miller Sr., 93, of Gettysburg, Pa., formerly of Reisterstown, died Sunday, Jan. 24, 1999, at Gettysburg Hospital.
Born Sept. 7, 1905, in Millers, he was the son of the late Henry K. and Missouri Elizabeth Miller. He was the husband of the late Gladys Virginia Downing Miller.
He was a member of the Ionic Lodge in Reisterstown, and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He was an internal revenue agent with the Internal Revenue Service for many years.
Surviving are son Murray Leroy Miller Jr. of Arbutus and three grandchildren.
He was predeceased by siblings Laura Bollinger, Charles Miller, Clarence Miller, H. Walter Miller, Lawrence Miller, Guy Miller, Sherman Miller, Mryl Millner, Spurgeon Miller, and Eva Ramer.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. today at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, with the Rev. Timothy P. Feaser of Trinity Lutheran Church, Reisterstown, officiating. Interment will be in Millers Church Cemetery, Millers.

Helen L. Ridgley
80, of Westminster
Helen Louise Ridgley, 80, of Westminster, died Tuesday evening, Jan. 26, 1999, at Northwest Hospital, Randallstown, after a brief illness.
Born Feb. 1, 1918, in Uniontown, she was the daughter of the late Earl R. and Anna Myrle Haines Buffington. She was the wife of the late Grant Claude Ridgley, who died Nov. 26, 1996.
For the past two years, she had been a resident at Oakland Manor, Sykesville. Before retiring she was an licensed practical nurse at Springfield State Hospital. She was a member of the Church of The Open Door, Super Sixties, and the Westminster Senior Citizens.
Surviving is a son Grant B. Ridgley of Sykesville; daughter Cherie L. Mullins of Sykesville; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Fletcher Funeral Home, 254 E. Main St., Westminster with her pastor, the Rev. John Campbell, officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Church of The Open Door Building Fund, 550 Baltimore Blvd., Westminster, MD 21157.
