Charles ``Tom'' Thomas Alexander, 49, of Albuquerque, N.M., formerly of Randallstown, died Saturday, April 24, 1999 at the VA Hospital in Albuquerque, N.M.
Born Jan. 9, 1950, in New Freedom, he was the son of the late John and Dorothy Alexander.
He was an Army veteran and had served two tours in Vietnam.
Surviving are daughter Holly Alexander of Westminster; brothers Robert N. Alexander of Towson, William D. Alexander of Delaware, Ronald S. Alexander of Westminster, Gary L. Alexander of Alabama; sisters JoAnn Tanner of Charlestown, W.Va., and Karen S. Duff of Westminster; and one grandson.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Shiloh Methodist Church, 3100 Shiloh Road, Hampstead, with the Rev. Richard Brown-Whale officiating. A private interment was held on April 27 at the Veteran's Cemetery in Santa Fe, N.M.

James A. Kearney, 74, of Baltimore, died Tuesday, April 27, 1999.
Born Feb. 17, 1925, in Kentucky, he was the son of the late John and Marie Carlin Kearney. He was the husband of Elizabeth Clarkson Kearney.
He was an administrator with the Social Security Administration. He was a member of St. William of York Catholic Church, Baltimore.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are daughter Kathleen Kearney Frey of Carroll County; sons James Philip Kearney, Paul Clarkson Kearney, Robert Allen Kearney, and Patrick Edward Kearney; and nine grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9 a.m. Friday at St. William of York Catholic Church, 600 Cooks Lane, Baltimore. Interment will be in Garrison Forest Maryland Veterans Cemetery.

Leotta Pauline MacDermott, 96, formerly of Union Bridge, died Tuesday, April 27, 1999, at Westminster Nursing and Rehabilitative Center following a brief illness.
Born Oct. 30, 1902, in Weyers Cave, Va., she was the daughter of the late Paul Glover and Hattie Stoner Glover Romans. She was the wife of James Henry MacDermott, who died in 1991.
She was a member of Union Bridge United Methodist Church and the Homemakers Club of Union Bridge.
Surviving are daughter Shirley J. Evans of Baltimore County; son James Lee MacDermott of Westminster; sisters Mary Nelson of Arlington, Va. and Marguerite Lenz of Baltimore; and one grandson.
She was predeceased by brother J.C. Glover; and sister Juanita Heintz.
Private interment services will be held in Meadowridge Memorial Park, Waterloo, with the Revs. Barry Taylor, her pastor, and Dwight Sheesley, pastor of Johnsville United Methodist Church, officiating.
There will be no public visitation.

Born Dec. 11, 1910, in Philadelphia, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Josephine Horochofska Kresowaty. She was the wife of the late George F. Kresowaty.

He was an active ham radio operator. He was a member of the Church of the Open Door, Westminster. He recently attended Life and Liberty Baptist Church, Frederick.
Surviving are daughter and son-in-law Jane L. and Lee E. Cannon of Frederick.

Agatha P. Fletcher, 81, of Westminster, formerly of Cape Cod, Mass., died early Monday morning, Oct. 6, 1997, at Long View Nursing Home, Manchester.
Born April 12, 1916, in Uniontown, she was the daughter of the late Pierce and Mary Anne Graham Zile. She was the wife of the late Russell A. Fletcher.
She and her husband owned and operated several restaurants in Cape Cod. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Masonic Chapter 134, South Dennis, Mass.
Surviving are sisters Leta Zincon of Westminster and LaRue Cookson of Hanover, Pa.; a niece; and several grand nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Myers Funeral Home, 91 Willis St., Westminster, with the Rev. Donald Llewellyn, interim pastor of Calvary United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Pipe Creek Cemetery, Union Bridge.

Born Feb. 12, 1927, in Carroll County, he was the son of the late Lee Garland and Lula Myers Heltibridle. He was the husband of Delores Sterner Heltibridle, his wife of 48 years.
A graduate of a Carroll County high school, he retired from Black & Decker Inc., Hampstead. He was a member of St. Mary's Lutheran Church, Silver Run.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are daughters Sandi Myers and Debbi Vonella, both of Westminster; brother Robert Heltibridle of Westminster; sister Janet M. Machesney of Tampa, Fla.; and three grandchildren.

Born Nov. 20, 1917, in Farmville, Va., she was the daughter of the late George and Minnie Dunkum Phaup. She was the wife of the late Alvin G. Wassmann, the late Stanley R. Kernan and the late Vance W. Mays.
She was a registered nurse most of her life.
Surviving are sons William W. Wassmann of Derwood and Robert L. Wassmann of Berwyn Heights; stepdaughter Janell Madden of Crofton; stepson Brian Mays of Mt. Ranier; brother George R. Phaup of Farmville, Va.; and nine grandchildren.
She was predeceased by sons Alvin G. Wassmann Jr. and Donald L. Wassmann.

She was a member of St. John Catholic Church, Westminster.
Surviving are son Clayton H. Reott Jr. of Lutherville; daughters Virginia Otter of New Jersey, Rosalie Spetzler and Margaret Johnson, both of Florida; 18 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by daughters Catherine Langen and Marie Bornhorn.

Melvin D. ``Swanie'' Swan, 73, of Finksburg, died Monday, Oct. 6, 1997, at his home, after an extended illness.
Born July 4, 1924, in Finksburg, he was the son of the late Edward Franklin and Mary Virginia Bloom Swan. He was the husband of Dorothy Louise Turnbaugh Swan.
He was a retired heavy equipment operator. He served in the European Theater in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are sons David H. Coursey of Weathersfield, Conn., Randy Swan of Virginia, Fred Anderson of Bel Air and Rick Anderson of Arnold; sister Pauline Lang of Hampstead; brother Harry Swan of Finksburg; and nine grandchildren.
He was predeceased by son Ricky Melvin Swan.

Before retiring, he was a manager at Baltimore Gas and Electric.

Born Oct. 17, 1934, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of Mildred Fitzberger Voss of Baltimore and the late William D. Voss Jr. She was the wife of Edwin Francis Duke, who died in 1997.
She was employed with B.J.'s Warehouse in the Customer Service Department.
She was a former member of the Christ Lutheran Church in Baltimore.
Surviving, in addition to her mother, are son and daughter-in-law John and Susan Duke of Finksburg; brothers Donald Voss of Finksburg, William Voss III and Thomas Voss, both of Baltimore; sister Shirley Cumberland of Linthicum; and two grandchildren.

He attended City College and graduated from Strayer's Business College. He was a Federal Immigration Officer for the federal government for 40 years. He was a member of Elder's Baptist Church in Eldersburg.
He was the husband of Gertrude Dallas Lehem, who died March 26, 1995.
Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law Janet and Bernard Becker of Eldersburg, Loretta and John Greer of Marriottsville; son Howard Lehem of Florida; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
