Daniel ``Dan'' Ryan Harrison, 20, of Westminster, died Monday, Oct. 6, 1997, at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Born Feb. 4, 1977, in Reisterstown, he was the son of Warren Lee Harrison of Westminster and Joyce Whalen of Junction City, Kan.
He was a 1995 graduate of Westminster High School and previously attended school in Junction City, Kan. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Reisterstown and of Deca, where he placed first-place in the state in advertising his junior year and second-place his senior year. He enjoyed tennis, baseball and fishing. He was employed with Fidelity 1st in Columbia as a loan officer.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are stepmother Cindy Harrison of Westminster; stepfather Larry Whalen of Junction City, Kan.; sister Sarah Kate Harrison of Westminster; devoted friend Tara Lyn Hanley of Westminster; maternal grandparents Albert and Marguerite Jackson of Phoenix; great-grandfather Walter Kloetzli of Phoenix; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 109 Main St., Resiterstown, with his pastor, the Rev. Timothy Feaser, assisted by Joe Duke, officiating.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and Thursday at the Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster.

Crystal June Pereira, 62, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died Monday, Oct. 6, 1997, at Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, Va.
Born May 10, 1935, in Colorado, she was the daughter of the late Henry B. and Iva Allspough Durfee.
She is survived by son Joe Pereira of Eldersburg; daughters Rose Ann Parker of Eldersburg and Linda Fyler of Monmouth, Maine; brother Joe Durfee of Molalla, Ore.; sisters Retta Garner of Madras, Ore., and Retha Wilcox of Delta, Colo.; devoted friend Overton Harlow of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, Md. 32, Sykesville, with the Rev. James Rousey officiating. Interment will be in Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Marriottsville.

Sophia K. Reott, 100, of Westminster, died Monday, Oct. 6, 1997, at Carroll Lutheran Village Health Care Center.
Born Nov. 5, 1896, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late William and Mary Etzel Schneider. She was the wife of the late Clayton H. Reott Sr., who died July 13, 1987.
She was a member of St. John Catholic Church, Westminster.
Surviving are son Clayton H. Reott Jr. of Lutherville; daughters Virginia Otter of New Jersey, Rosalie Spetzler and Margaret Johnson, both of Florida; 18 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by daughters Catherine Langen and Marie Bornhorn.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. John Catholic Church, 43 Monroe St., Westminster with the Rev. John Dobranski as celebrant. Also participating will be the Rev. Jimmie Schwartz, pastor at Carroll Lutheran Village. Interment will be in Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Baltimore.

Forrest Porter Ricketts, 75, of Fayetteville, Pa., formerly of Taneytown, died Tuesday, Oct. 7, 1997, at Piney Mountain Nursing Home, Fayetteville, Pa.
Born Feb. 27, 1922, in Darnestown, he was the son of the late James Walter Sr. and Hattie Case Ricketts. He was the husband of the late Emily Mary Jane Lemire Ricketts.
He was a lifelong beef cattle farmer.
He is survived by daughters Anne M. Bell and Kelly Schweinsberg, both of Taneytown; sisters Dorothy Ricketts of Frederick and Edna Wright of Manchester, Pa.; brothers Thomas Ricketts of Lothian, Leonard Ricketts of Lisbon and Walter Ricketts Jr. of Gettysburg, Pa.; three granddaughters, three grandsons, five great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a son, a granddaughter and three brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Darnestown Presbyterian Church, Darnestown, with the Rev. Dr. Henry J. Postel officiating. Interment will Darnestown Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Herschell M. Sampson, 75, of Kissimmee, Fla., died Saturday, Sept. 20, 1997, in Richmond, Va.
Born in Uniontown, Pa., he was the son of the late George and Ivy Lingenfelter Sampson. He was the husband of the late Sally P. Briscar Sampson and the late Lucille B. Brown Sampson.
He worked for Imperial Real Estate. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
He is survived by sons Roger K. Sampson of Baltimore, Keith W. Sampson of Hampstead and Jack T. Sampson of Glen Allen, Va.; and daughter Linda J. Kelley of Richmond, Va.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Falls Road and West 42nd Street, Baltimore. Interment will be in Hampstead Cemetery, Hampstead.

Alice Virginia Jackson Summers Watford, 87, of Frederick, died Sunday, Oct. 5, 1997 at College View Nursing Home, Frederick.
Born Nov. 7, 1909, in Mt. Pleasant, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Elizabeth Cosley Jackson. She was the wife of the late Airy L. Summers Sr. and the late Richard C. Watford.
She was a life-long member of the Wayman A.M.E. Church, Mt. Pleasant, where she was in the church choir and played piano. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Queen Esther Chapter No. 2 in Frederick. In her early years, she baked at various places in Frederick, including Thomas Johnson High School, Parkway Elementary School and the former FSK Hotel. She enjoyed crocheting.
She is survived by son Carroll E. Summers of Frederick; daughter and son-in-laws Esther L. and A. Nolan Bowie, and Peggy S. and Foster D. McClure, all of Frederick; sister Helena Fletcher of New Jersey; 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by son Airy L. Summers Jr.; daughter Mary Alice Fisher; brothers Rodney, Crath, Charles, William, Nelson and Arthur Jackson; sisters Mary Mahammitt, Viola Chase, Hazel Yonker and Anna Black; and son-in-law Harold Fisher.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Wayman AME Church, Mount Pleasant, with her pastor, the Rev. Christine A. Moore officiating. Interment will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick.

Robert David Adams Jr., 57, of Eldersburg, died Monday, Dec. 1, 1998, at Carroll County General Hospital.
Born Aug. 14, 1941, in St. Louis, Mo., he was the son of the late Robert and Elizabeth Snell Adams. He was the husband of Marion J. Adams of Eldersburg.
He had been a general manager for Wendy's Restaurants for several years, most recently at the Eldersburg location. He was a member of the St. Luke United Methodist Church, Sykesville, where he had been a lay speaker and church cook.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are sons Mark E. Adams of Jessup, David Adams of Lanham, and Steve Wise of Baltimore; daughters Sheila D. Prophet, Saundra L. Williams and Paultee E. Williams, all of Baltimore; brother Thomas Adams and Carl Adams, both of California; sister Carol Adams of California; 20 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by son Anthony Adams.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Luke United Methodist Church, River Road, Sykesville, with the Rev. Brian Jackson officiating. Interment will be in Crestlawn Memorial Gardens, Marriottsville.

Virginia Lee ``Ginny'' Carver, 88, of Finksburg, died Tuesday, Dec. 1, 1998, at Countryside Protective Care, Hampstead.
Born Sept. 14, 1910, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Harry Daniel and Lelah Johnson Heubeck.
Surviving are son John Roland Carver of North Carolina; daughter Margaret Mae Law of Prescott, Ariz.; adopted son John McKinney Carver of Manchester; sister Margaret Wheeler of Finksburg; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Ralph E. Coarts, 76, of Upperco, died Monday, Nov. 30, 1998, at Carroll County General Hospital, after a brief illness.
Born Nov. 12, 1922, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late William C. and Florence Baker Coarts. He was the husband of Charlotte A. Brillhart Coarts.
He retired from the position of vice president of Alexander and Alexander Insurance Brokers in 1977. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was involved in several invasions. An active Christian all of his life, he was the past president of the Glyndon Community Bible Class and owned and operated the Christian Book and Gift Mart in Reisterstown for nine years. He was a member of Reisterstown Baptist Church.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are daughter Charlene Lee Hughes and son David E. Coarts, both of Upperco; sister Ida Hoggard of Newport News, Va.; and six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills, with the Rev. Joe Traynham of Reisterstown Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Beatrice Irene Hamilton, 91, formerly of Sykesville, died Monday, Nov. 30, 1998, at Beaver Medical Center, Brighton Township, Pa.
Born April 24, 1907, in Abbott, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Holly G. and Margie R. Hefner Cutright. She was the wife of Charles W. Hamilton, who died in 1987.
She had been a psychiatric aide for the state of Maryland, and was a member of the Monacoest Free Methodist Church, Manaca, Pa.
Surviving are son Lester Hamilton of Monaca, Pa.; daughters Mary Ellen Wandell of Westminster, Patricia Adams of Akron, Ohio, and Mildred M. Kidd of Los Angeles; sisters Gay Crites and Evelyn Simons, both of Buchanon, W.Va.; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was predeceased by son Charles D. Hamilton and sister Ruby Shoulders.

Prior to her retirement, she was a hostess at Haussner's restaurant, Baltimore.
Surviving are brother Clarence E. Pond of Finksburg; and sister Clemmia V. Doolin.
